Even if there was nothing else (and there are plenty of things) it would have been worth getting into hockey solely to watch Igor. He reminds me so much of deGrom with the Mets where you feel like you're watching something truly special every time they play, regardless of what the overall outcome is. 0.940 SV% and a 1.95GAA through 36 games played (27-6-3)

Man, San Jose has fallen on hard times. An 8-0 loss is pretty fucking embarrassing.

I hated the Toronto Heritage sweaters when I saw them but now that I’m seeing them on the ice they’re really growing on me.
I still wish they would wake up and mash up the 80s style sweaters with the current logo. They would make a billion dollars if they released those.
Like look at some of these mock ups and tell me it isn’t sexy

Did Auston Matthews deserve to be suspended? Yes.
Is the league insanely inconsistent with handing down punishments? Also yes.
Is George Parros biased against the Leafs because we ended his useless career? Very yes.

Fuck yeah these two are exactly why the Rangers need to push their chips in and trade for another forward before the deadline.

I wish Adam Fox was on my team.
Leafs had a big win tonight. Absolutely dominated Dallas, and got Källgren his first win and first shutout in his first start. Gotta love it.

It's good content, but he probably shouldn't have mouthed off considering he lost the puck to his replacement Tuch who then scored the game winner. Vegas are on a bad run at the moment, they're in danger of missing the playoffs at this rate with Vancouver heating up.
The Rangers did make a trade! A fourth rounder for Alex Vatrano from Florida seems like a move with no downside. It'll be interesting to see if he plays on the third line, or up with Panarin & Strome where I think he could fit nicely as a good finisher.

Leafs traded Dermott to the Canucks. Kinda sad to see him go because he’s a hometown kid who grew up a Leafs fan, but he never really fit in the lineup. He was always the odd man out.
The big move so far is Giordano and Blackwell to the Leafs for some picks. Gio wanted to come here and we need a capable defenceman so yay!
Looking like they might try for a goalie tomorrow. Mrazek on waivers. Crazy how far he’s fallen this year.

I really liked Blackwell on the Rangers last season. Cheap trade too considering what the Panthers paid for Chiarot.

I’m so glad the Rangers didn’t get Giroux. They scare me way more than Florida does.
Rangers are contenders. Panthers are pretenders.

He’s joining a team that is basically set in their top 2 lines, possibly even the 3rd (although Kase getting hurt last night changes things). We talking solid 4th liner? Extra body to fill in for injuries? I’m asking because if he’s like a solid forward, I wonder if Dubas isn’t done and he’s shipping out someone like Kerfoot or Mikheyev to get a goalie/another D man. And Blackwell is the replacement.

And Blackwell is the replacement. Blackwell is a solid bottom six player. Good enough to be a regular in the lineup, not an extra forward, but he also should not crack the top six especially on a stacked Leafs team. Blackwell had a good stint with the Rangers and at times was one of the better and noticeable players on the ice. Definitely going to contribute offensively while being a reliable forward you can trust, and has no problem dropping the gloves when needed.

Despite his numbers, Georgiev is a bonafide number one goaltender. Obviously a fantastic game last night. He moves side to side just as well as any of the top goalies in the league. Hopefully the Rangers hang on to him for their playoff run in case Shesterkin gets hurt. Kinkaid as a permanent back up, yikes.
Can anyone explain to me the Brandon Hagel trade? Good stats on a bad team, and a locker room favorite. I have not heard of him this year and Tampa sent two first rounders (albeit these will be late first round essentially early 2nd round picks) and two prospects (who were stuck in Tampa's depth) for a free agent signing.

It’s interesting that Seattle gave him up. They seem to be completely writing this year off and starting from scratch. Blackwell was on pace to pass his point total from last season and you’d think a rebuilding team would want to keep a solid forward like him.
Ron Francis might be a terrible GM. Between the expansion draft and trading away his captain during their first season, you gotta wonder what’s going on over there.
At least they have Jared McCann!

Marc-Andre Fleury is headed to the Minnesota Wild. Interesting. Bill Guerin was GM in Pittsburgh when they won a Cup. I think Fleury just wants to go to a team that is run by someone he trusts. Dubas made some comments about it too. He was upset that Chicago’s GM leaked the Leafs’ interest in Fleury. He must have done it to shoot up the asking price. Dubas is also clearly miffed that players keep getting claimed. So far this season 11 players have been claimed from the Leafs. That’s more than double any other team. And Arizona snatching Starmi or whatever his name was is such a dick move. Nobody knew who this guy was before the Leafs signed him, and the Leafs also took Hutton’s contract off Arizona’s hands as a favour. Then they pull this shit.

Hopefully the Rangers hang on to him for their playoff run in case Shesterkin gets hurt. Kinkaid as a permanent back up, yikes. The issue seems to be that he is a #1 goalie rather than a backup, and he'd be putting up better performances if he were to play more regularly. I totally agree with you that I'd rather him than Kinkaid for now, but hopefully when he does move on (which seems inevitable) the Rangers are able to trade him when his value is higher. Drury made a few depth moves before the deadline which everyone seems pretty pleased with, especially as he barely gave up anything of note. Andrew Copp from Winnipeg seems like the biggest difference maker of the bunch. Our bottom six looks a lot better with him and Vatrano.

Drury's trades have had an unbelievable impact straight off the bat. Vatrano has four goals in his first six games and Copp has five points in three games. I have a feeling these moves are going to be seen as very significant in how the Rangers season ends up.

Buffalo Sabres have to be the most exciting team to watch at the moment. Entering tonight against Chicago they'd had four straight games go to overtime and then...
A rough one for Lankinen.
