You've just been appointed NWA President. The WWE somehow doesn't exist and the territory system of old is somehow still in effect. The world's modern wrestling roster is also still intact. For the sake of some reality here, New Japan still exists but domestically, you're going over on this monopoly game.
To keep things simple, you have 5-8 territories to place (You can add more or less but I'm not going to ask for 37 or something lol) Where exactly are you putting them, specifically what region and where is its base? Are they all in America or are ya dipping them toes into an international jacuzzi, bay-bay!?
Does each have its own style or is it more based on traditions from the past? Who are your champions for each (doesn't have to be a convoluted list, you can focus on just major titleholders if you want)? Most critically of all - who ya got jet-settin', grand standin' and hot doggin' while holding that beautiful Ten Pounds of Gold!?

Big Pete Mid-South add Jacob Fatu Jake Something Gino Medina Mysterious Q Fatu was one of those names on the tip of my tongue. I'd have him in WCCW since they seemed to love those outlaw types.
I'll focus more on Mid-Atlantic and the Georgia region. This is largely an uneducated opinion but I've always got the sense that tradition played a big role and they were slightly more interested in athletic specimens - basically you had to look and act the part. It's why I think prodigys like Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Charlotte Flair would have been right at home in this territory.
One of the biggest challenges I had last night was trying to find the right environment for women because back in the day they were largely niche acts that usually filled the same spot occupied by minis. Charlotte to me is a no-brainer and I've gone with Jade Cargill with the idea that her basketball background would have appealed to Turner execs.
FTR is one team that would obviously be there and would be one of the first teams picked. I'd say Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison would both be there due to the Pillman legacy and Garrison seems like one of those prospects they'd bring in early before sending to Dallas or Oklahoma. Nick Aldis of course would be a mainstay of the promotion while making treks to other promotions and the same could be said of Drew McIntyre.
The one guy who would be the long term face of the promotion is Austin Theory. He fits the mould of what I think the typical Mid-Atlantic wrestler was and the whole promotion would be built around him chasing Nick Aldis for the championship.
I could see more foreigners like Claudio Castignoli, Sheamus, 'Marvelous' Miro (w/Lana) etc.
As for women, Serena Deeb, Lacey Evans, Anna Jay, Julia Hart, Leyla Hirsh, Camille would all be thereabouts.
There were a few no-brainers I missed but Adam Page being THE guy of WCCW was the most regrettable.

That was basically the template I used. If I was more stringent with it, Roman would be an AWA guy but my view was that the WWF would steal him away ala Hulk Hogan. But basically the WWF loved appealing to immigrants, Mid-Atlantic like guys with a good look who could wrestle, Mid-South were more focused on good athletes and loved having an ethnic champion, WCCW were really into the personalities and soap operatic elements with brawlers, Memphis always had that out-law mud-show feel with a lot of violence and out there characters. California also had out there characters but always seemed a little above typical Pro Wrestling and didn't really care about presenting the product as real. Stampede had the most UK cross-over and that's where you'd see a lot of the UK/Japanese talent end up but they also LOVE Canadians and were loyal to their own. Teddy Hart would have stable employment at Stampede.
So many guys especially on the WWE roster would benefit. Dominik Dijak, Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Austin Theory, Ricochet, Gran Metalik, Drew Gulak, Jaxson Ryker, LA Knight, Odyssey freakin' Jones, Gable Stevenson, Bron Breakker, Parker Bordeaux, BOOGS (!!), Otis etc. WALTER was basically made for the territory system as well so that's a given.
Of course if it's me pushing modern talent then it's guys like Josh Alexander, Chad Gable, Cameron Grimes, Mustafa Ali, Daniel Garcia etc. would be huge too.
I also had Jay White listed in Memphis because of Bill Dundee but White is a Mid-Atlantic talent through and through. He'd be one of my pillars for that promotion, as well as Andrade.
That's actually one of the challenges actually and trying to find that balance between international and foreign talent. I don't care what anyone says, the home town guy 9/10 is going to sell more tickets. Even if they're not from there originally, if the average person on the street identifies with that talent they're going to come to the shows.

Cool topic rad . I've been following along but refrained from posting because I barely watch modern wrestling. Big Pete 's stellar post got my hyped though and now I want to play along. Ten Pounds of Gold: Nick Aldis, of course. As the alternate universe Flair, it's only natural Slick Nick would call Mid Atlantic his home territory in between title reigns. Daniel Bryan- Big junior star in Japan who also had a good run in Stampede and carved out a solid niche as a popular midcard babyface in AWA. Big E- The Man in Mid South. Currently setting the territory on fire in a bound-to-be-legendary hoss feud with fellow Mid South staple Braun Strowman. Bray Wyatt is big in Florida as our alternate universe Kevin Sullivan. Not sure who plays the Dusty role of everyman babyface fighting the evil Wyatt. Best I can come up with is Trevor Murdoch, but something tells me PW can do better. Agree with Pete on The Revival, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes being natural fits for the Mid Atlantic territory. Lacey Evans would be huge in World Class and Mid South as the modern day Missy Hyatt until visions of dollar signs dance in Vince's head and he brings Lacey to WW(W)F for the Wendi Richter super babyface push. The Kingstons, Kofi & Eddie, would be popular staples of the WW(W)F midcard. Judging by what I read, Jon Moxley would be right at home in Memphis. Unfortunately, he's the only Memphis guy I have right now. Sad. Aron Stevens and E-Li Drake strike me as a WW(W)F guys who occasionally dip their toes into other waters. WALTER would be in high demand as a monster heel going from territory to territory in between Japan runs. Ditto for Brock Lesnar. Though it's also possible Brock spends calls AWA his home territory due to a disdain for travel. Both guys could are major draws who could even hold the Ten Pounds of Gold. Cesaro & Seamus split their time between AWA and Japan with the occasional foray into Stampede and even that one memorable WW(W)F run. The Storms, James & Tim, are fan favorites throughout the Southern territories. Roman Reigns and the Usos start out in San Francisco before becoming WW(W)F lifers and major babyface stars in the Northeast. CM Punk is a Bruiser Brody-style outlaw who bounces around the territories pissing off promoters in between trips to Japan. Dolph Ziggler bounces around for a while until finally finding a permanent home in Stampede. Kevin Owens becomes a Memphis lifer because they're the only promotion that will book him as an (occasional) top act. Can also see Owens & Moxley working Puerto Rico.

I started a post then my shitty hotel internet cut out and it got lost. I am going to do this without reading the other posts as I don't want to be influenced and just want to write down what my dream world of territories looks like.
