I’m glad you had a great time in New Zealand. sandylea and I have completely opposite styles of vacationing. I would have died doing that many things every day.

My main thought usually is ‘what if I never get to come here again’ so I want to try and experience as many things as possible. I’m way more chill holidaying in places I’ve been to multiple times lol but I am also way more active and motivated on holiday so I enjoy it while I can 😁

When we are on holidays I will be sitting on the balcony or by the pool and my wife will ask me what we're doing today and I will always answer "I'm doing it"

Why not see as much as possible in a place in case you never get there again? Sitting on a beach or by a pool holds zero appeal for me. I'm allergic to the sun. I have two colors: red and white and don't find it particularly relaxing. I mean I've done it. I'll likely do it again, but for more than a few hours...why? I spend so much of my life already sedentary at a desk or on my couch. I want to see, see, see; do, do, do; go, go, go.

Don’t get me wrong, I love swimming but I’d much rather go see everything during the day and then have a swim at night at the hotel before turning in for the night. Beaches rarely appeal to me because I don’t want to get sand through everything and deal with carrying wet clothes around. We would be excellent holiday buddies!

This is obviously something that is very individual... Nevertheless, I want to say you are both wrong on every conceivable level and my way of holidaying is infinitely better. 😎
I will also add I travel for work and visit lots of countries, so holidays are for down time and pool/beach time with my girls.
I also won't slum it on holidays, anything less that 5 star and I'm pissy. I'm platinum with one airline and two hotel chains, so we can normally redeem some miles. So I get to behave like the princess that I am.

I’m cool 😂😂 if you want to pay for my 5 star hotels though I’ll happily upgrade hahaha

Clean, bed (also clean), working AC, bathroom and I'm a happy chappy. Though I do have a taste for nice hotels since WWE used to put us up in some swank ones. I'm just not willing to pay exorbitant prices. Most hotels in Downtown Nashville (in October) were $400-600/night. For what? There better be more than a mint on my pillow for that.

No, Rogue and I bought WM travel packages through WWE. 5x for me and I think 4x for her. Not sure where they put people up now, but I expect it hasn't changed much even though the prices are 2 & 3 times more than we used to pay and you get much less. Rumble Travel Packages still look decent though. About the same as we paid for Mania and you get more and better seating. www.givemesport.com/wwe-wrestlemania-39-travel-packages/Just about crapped my pants when I saw the prices for this years'. That doesn't include your flight. We used to get gold for $800pp. I actually preferred silver though cause you couldn't see shit with gold if you were short.

Did you enjoy MONA? (I'm assuming that's where that is) I've always wanted to go there. I did my time in hostels and cheap hotels but nice accommodation is awesome. I'm inclined to go cheaper flight/more expensive hotel these days, in my thirties with a bad back I can't be fucking around with rubbish beds and pillows. The coolest place I've stayed was this castle in Sicily.

The strangest room I've stayed in was in Christchurch. The shower doubled as a protective unit in case of earthquake.
Made sense.

@admin no, sadly it was closed but I wanted to go. Was just at the art museum, I turned the corner and see this women incredibly slowly about to sit down at a table with a biscuit in her hand, luckily I realised at the last second people were watching and I was about to walk through some modern art bullshit so I walked around  Also I just had carry on that was stored underneath my seat so as soon as seatbelt sign turned off I got up and was ready to go (I was near the front) Lady said to me “I thought you were before me?” in a bitchy tone as she is still sitting down. I’m not getting anything from the overhead storage and I had an aisle set, isn’t my fault you’re not prepared 🤷🏻♀️. @ness I had a few games but the novelty with those sort of arcades wear off quick when you realise you could just be doing this at home or even on your mobile unless you’re a huge mark for arcades. This one actually enforced the no drinks on machines and had side tables, unlike Barcadia in Melbourne where every machine was sticky from drinks being split on them.

Any of the Italian travelers been to Cinque Terre? Agree that Pisa is a waste, or must be done?

We drove past it.. I'm assuming that's the town with the pastel houses. I wish we had time to stop.
Pisa isn't necessary, unless you want the happy snap at the tower.
Florence was good, as was Venice and the obvious touristy stuff in Rome. Italy, I have the least amount of interest in returning to out of the Western European countries - not out of any negative experiences or anything, just more desire to see other places.

Man, Douglas Mawson and the heroic age of antarctic exploration explorers were fucking crazy. One of Mawson expeditions he was the sole survivor from after the two men with him were lost, and barely survived a fall into a crevice himself.
Cool book on his expedition, Alone on the Ice: The Greatest Survival Story in the History of Exploration.

Yes, we are doing a fast and furious 2 weeks so right now looking at: Venice (Murano/Burano), Florence (Cinque Terre?), Rome (maybe day trip to Naples/Pompeii), Athens (day trips to Delphi, Olympia, Corinth, Napflion & Mycenae). I might stay on another week and do Santorini, Naxos, Paros. A quick taste, but we are good at making the most of our time.

My sister and I are trying to convince our dad to get Italian citizenship. His grandfather was Italian and came over on the boat. Once he gets it, I can get Italian citizenship as well. Looking forward to riding a Vespa in loafers with no socks.

You and I are the exact opposite. I love the UK, and fell in love with a lot of the charm outside of the big cities. Even then, London I love also for its variety. Also, I absolutely adore Edinburgh's old town. I could easily live there - cold, wet, dank - I love it. Being of English and Dutch heritage, it makes lot of sense that I also have warm spot for the The Netherlands, Germany, France.

Germany is similarly generic and uninspiring, it is if someone vacuumed the soul out of a country with ruthless Eastern European efficiency.
