Have I watched too much WWE, to where when Brock and Lee come out I expect them to turn on Cody at/after the end of the match? Also that during the picture in picture commercial break for the main event TNT plays an ad for the *season finale* of Rhodes to the Top where Cody thinks it'd be best if he just went away for a while? Half the school already turned on him so why not the other half.

Poor Cody "why won't the people love me" Rhodes
They named their baby Liberty? And they wonder why so many people hate them.

I actually didn't hate that. Cody looked good, deserved the win, and Black can move on to have bangers with PAC, Andrade, and anyone else he wants. Maybe Miro? Danielson? Fish? Punk? List is endless.

This comes to mind with Cody's gear since Ogogo.

Dustin has always been really good, but Danielson is able to bring the absolute best out of any opponent, and he did so in that opening match. What a fierce contest. Also love how Danielson is winning each match in different ways, and that the commentators are cognizant of this.
-------------
Sting and MJF segment was very effective. Well done chaps. Also liked the follow up segment with Wardlow accosting MJF.
-------------
I really enjoyed Ford vs Soho. Thought it was the best match either woman has had in AEW. Also a cool finish with Ford fumbling the brass knuckles and focusing too much on them, enabling Soho to roll her up for the three.
-------------
I've never been interested in Bobby Fish and his AEW stint so far has done nothing to change my mind.
-------------
The commentators hyping Archer vs Kingston as this longtime rivalry has me baffled. But apparently they had two matches in January, one of which Kingston won. I don't remember any of this. Shame what happened to Lance Archer in the match itself, but good job on calling the audible. Makes me wonder who was booked to win the match originally. Guess I'll never know.
On another note, while Archer using a fan to deliver offense to his opponents is pretty damn awesome, why isn't he punished for assaulting a person who is, in kayfabe, a civilian who paid a ticket to watch the show? That should be a suspension at the very least, if not a jail sentence.
-------------
Moxley promo was a bit odd. I mean I can understand his family being his primary motivation, and that he wants to win stuff to get more dollars, but why admit that you stopped caring about all things pro-wrestling? He could cut the same promo still putting over the belts and winning, but while stating that his family is a greater priority.

OK, I'm starting to get Brandon Cutler now. He was pretty funny in that squash match. Still have no idea why he wears the facemask though. Jungle Boy cut a nice, short, badass style promo. Thumbs up. But I'm not sure what Super Elite group beatdown #983274298 does for anybody. Thumbs down.
The Super Elite are simultaneously having very one-sided rivalries with both Dark Order and Jungle Express, where The Super Elite win absolutely everything and get the upper hand in every single segment. I know they will get their comeuppance eventually, but it's been old hat for months now. I'm bored of them.
-------------
Black vs Rhodes was really exciting especially with the hot crowd. Couple of spots I didn't like. The Cross Rhodes through the table - visually it was pretty clear that Cody put himself through the table a lot more than he put Black through the table. One of those "it's the thought that counts, right?" moves that I hate. Second, Rhodes taking the Black Mask, bailing to the ropes, then 30 seconds later he's fresh as a daisy, hitting all his moves and winning. He did that kinda shit during his TNT title run too. Boo.
The match was a lot of fun, but I'm not sure why it was booked. Black should have been finished with Cody after their last match, and moved on to the Andrade/PAC stuff without Cody. On the other hand, looks like this will be a 2v2 feud, which kinda makes sense. I'm torn. I'm not convinced this was the best way to end Black's undefeated streak.

I'm loving the Cody Rhodes initiation test where he'll put you over huge in a 3 minute squash only to build up a program where he has to go over in the end and blow off your finisher. Lance Archer, Brodie Lee, Malakai Black and now he can finally get his hands on Flair's potential son-in law.
Remember folks...
