Jay Lethal, Josh "The Goods" Woods & Bandido w/Samoa Joe NEWS & NOTESAfter winning the main event, Gargano and Page embraced and raised their arms and respective titles high for the crowd to see. Page then exited the arena and moments later, Johnny Gargano was attacked by EC3 & "The Titan" Adam Scherr. Scherr dismantled an exhausted Johnny Gargano and left him a bloodied mess while EC3 simply stood in the ring and glared into the hard cam. The show ended with Scherr raising the ROH World Championship above his head before tossing it on Gargano's lifeless body. After dropping the Women's Championship to Adrienne Moon, Rok-C was given a proper send-off as news broke that she plans to sign with NXT. Matt Cardona won the Television Championship and easily got the most heat of the night. Cardona adds to his belt collection by defeating an ROH darling, then added insult to injury by attacking him after the match. Cardona posed with all his titles draped over his body, placing one foot on Castle's chest, but was finally chased out of the ring by Shane "Swerve" Strickland to a huge pop.The ROH Pure Championship was on the line in an open challenge, and Jonathan Gresham was just as shocked as everyone else when "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson answered the call. Danielson returned to an ROH ring for the first time in 13 years and the pop was other-worldly when his music hit. And yes, he entered to "The Final Countdown." Danielson won the title in an amazing match, and the two shook hands both before and after the match. Kevin Steen and Rami Sebei made good on their word and retained the ROH Tag Team Championship against The Briscoes. The match was good and well-received, until Steen and Sebei offered to shake The Briscoes' hands and they refused. As they left the ring, Steen and Sebei were attacked from behind by FTR! The Briscoes watched from the stage and turned their backs as FTR hit the Shatter Machine on Sebei. Both Trios Championship Tournament matches delivered in big ways. AEW's Tag Team Champions got their win over The Kingdom, and The SuperKliq handed The House of Black their first loss as a unit. In the latter match, Adam Cole & The Young Bucks decided to make a statement and Matt Jackson busted out his thumb tack Air Jordans, but before he could connect with Aleister Black's face, the lights went out. When they came back on, Buddy Matthews was in the ring, and he sent The SuperKliq running for the hills. And the United Empire's open challenge was met by...ROH General Manager Samoa Joe? Joe got a huge pop as he appeared on stage and laid into Will Ospreay, telling him that he didn't think Ospreay deserved to be here, that he hadn't earned the right to stand in an ROH ring and make open challenges. "But as much as my opinion counts around here, someone else's opinion counts that much more, which is the only reason you're here." Joe then told Ospreay that he voiced his disagreement and was granted a compromise: United Empire can have their match, but Joe gets to hand pick who they face. And Joe hand-picked 3 of ROH's finest competitors, and promised that United Empire would be handed yet another embarrassing loss. But Joe was wrong, and sat on commentary to watch his hand-picked team come close, but not close enough, as United Empire snuck away with a hard-earned victory. -------------------- I know I haven't updated this in a while but it's been a busy month and I haven't had a ton of time to sit down and write out ideas. I knew roughly what I wanted this show to look like, so here it is, and when I start posting more there's going to be a bit of a time jump. I'll probably post a summary to skip ahead through some filler to get to where I want to be with this story. No, I'm not abandoning this. I'm continuing a universe I started with Wrestling World War and with any luck I'll be able to continue to build on it here and in future threads.

TIME JUMP! Since the events of First Battle, Ring of Honor has been enjoying a run of exciting shows and new developments. The company has recently announced that their show will be hitting the road for the summer, leaving behind CEI Arena in Baltimore to tour the east coast for a run of shows leading into their next PPV Supercard of Honor: Rebirth. Then, after a few more shows back at home in Baltimore, ROH will be returning to the west coast for the first time in several years for a late summer tour that is sure to bring even more excitement and surprises. So where are we now?The Trios Tournament was an overwhelming success and saw some incredible match-ups that took place in ROH, AEW and NJPW rings around the country. The highly anticipated dream match-ups between the hottest stables in wrestling today did not disappoint. And when it was all said and done, The SuperKliq reigned supreme, going undefeated in the tournament and earning their Trios Championship title shot against Bullet Club off-shoot House of Torture at a date to be determined. The regular old normal Tag Team division has seen a bit of a spark as well. After retaining the ROH Tag Team Championships at First Battle, Kevin Steen and Rami Sebei issued a string of open challenges that saw new and old faces alike pop up. AEW's ReDragon made their return to ROH and battled old foes in an exciting main event match, and just last week the team of nZo & Morrissey reunited for the first time since 2019, and this time it was well received! (we don't speak of the MSG incident...those people are just haters...). nZo entered in his usual way, announcing himself, then asking if his old seven foot tall pal would oblige him and take down the Tag Team Champs. After Morrissey spelled out the word we all know describes said champs, they put on quite the banger with Steen & Sebei. While nZo and Morrissey were unsuccessful, their story doesn't end here. The drama picked up after the match when The Kingdom confronted Morrissey, demanding answers for his behaviour. Morrissey turned his back on his old tag team partner, leaving him alone in the ring, his future uncertain. Next week the open challenges continue and a score that started at Final Battle will finally be settled when FTR face Steen & Sebei for the ROH Tag Team Championships on ROH TV.The Television Championship was finally brought home by an unlikely hero. After a handful of cowardly defences by Matt Cardona, including getting himself disqualified when nearly beaten by Swerve Strickland, he was surprised when Minoru Suzuki arrived state side and decided to teach Cardona a lesson in respect. With nowhere to run during their eventual match, Suzuki won his first North American championship on American soil to a great ovation. Speaking of NJPW, several of their stars seem to be content calling ROH home. With Jay White and his Bullet Club lackies taking up real estate over on Impact, United Empire has set up shop in ROH and seems to have no plans of leaving. After embarassing new General Manager Samoa Joe at Final Battle, by beating his hand-picked team of ROH legends, Ospreay & co. have continued to make Joe's life a living hell, and there's no end in sight. The Pure Championship has not changed hands yet and it's unlikely it ever will the way Bryan Danielson is performing. Danielson has crossed the aisle between AEW and ROH more than any other superstar thus far, and in the process caught the ear of Jon Moxley. Mox did not want Danielson's championship and instead wanted the opposite: he wanted to remind Danielson what violence is and what it means to this business. Their battle was arduous and insane; one of AEW's best to date. And it was so violent and out of control that only one man could bring these two superstars together: William Regal. Soon after, The Blackpool Combat Club was formed and growing rapidly, recently adding Wheeler Yuta to their ranks (to the shagrin of Best Friends). Who will their next target be? The Women's Championship is still in the grasp of Adrienne Moon, who most recently defended the title against Session Moth Martina in a great bout. But if we're being honest, the ROH Women's division has been stagnant and needs a kick in the teeth. Moon has been defending the title elsewhere, primarily in AEW and Impact, but new challengers have been few and far between and it's unclear where her future and the future of the Women's title are headed. Certainly the outcome will be a positive one with such a talented champ willing to fight anyone anywhere. And finally the ROH World Champion, Johnny Gargano, continues his dream run and hasn't stopped impressing since defeating the AEW World Champion Adam Page at Final Battle in a Champion vs. Champion exhibition match. Gargano managed to defeat "The Titan" Adam Scherr when they eventually locked up, and the embarassment when to Scherr's head, resulting in his firing from the company. Scherr has since taken to twitter and continued to embarass himself and may never recover from the defeat heard 'round the world at the hands of Gargano. Since then, Gargano has seen a new challenger arise: Swerve Strickland. Swerve has climbed the ranks of ROH since his arrival and has been undefeated since, and will definitely be Gargano's toughest challenge yet. Comings & GoingsAdam Scherr - Released Shane Taylor - Released Adam Brooks - Released Kenny King - Released EC3 - Requested release, granted Rok-C - Contract expired, signed with NXT Toa Liona - Signed by ROH nZo - Signed by ROH Tully Blanchard - Signed by ROH as producer & on-air talent Sonjay Dutt - AEW Producer loaned to ROH

ROH TV Episode #12: New Tag Team ChampionsThe score has been settled and the new champs reign supreme. FTR defeated Kevin Steen & Rami Sebei to win the ROH Tag Team Championship in possibly the best match since ROH's return almost 4 months ago. Nearly half the episode was devoted to the main event and it certainly deserved every last second. Nothing was wasted and everything was left in the ring between these four men, and when it was all said and done, FTR claimed the titles that they claimed "meant the most to win." Since attacking Steen & Sebei at Final Battle, FTR have been elusive but outspoken, saying that while they respect the ROH Tag Team Championships as "one of the most prestigious to ever exist in the business," they've also said that Steen and Sebei were unworthy, returning from their cushy WWE jobs to cash-in, whereas FTR have been in the trenches for years doing all the hard work. Steen & Sebei of course took exception to this, saying they earned their spots atop the business where FTR couldn't cut it. And the bad blood and war of words spilled into the ring and then some, resulting in one of the best matches of the year. After the match, FTR offered their hands in solidarity and respect, which Sebei accepted...but Steen didn't. Kevin Steen rolled out of the ring and walked up the ramp with his back turned, which was not well received by the crowd or his tag team partner and best friend. Also on the card, Jay Lethal defended the FTW Championship against PJ Black in uncharacteristic fashion. Lethal was about to fall victim to a 450 Splash and eventual defeat but he pulled the referee on top of himself to break the attack. With the referee down, Lethal hit a low blow on PJ Black and rolled him up as another referee entered to make the 3-count. We also saw Trios action and The House of Black was handed a rare defeat at the hands of The Kingdom. Christopher Daniels ate the pinfall and was clearly not in Malakai Black's good graces as the four of them left the arena. And in women's action, Trish Adora got what many are calling an upset over Session Moth Martina in the opening bout. With Adrienne Moon on commentary, Adora impressed and has certainly come a long way since her last defeat. Adora has been working on AEW Dark and improving with every passing week, and has clearly caught the eye of the Women's Champion. Quick ResultsROH Tag Team ChampionshipFTR def. ROH TV Episode #13: ...And Then There Were ThreeRing of Honor kicked off with The House of Black entering the arena to a tremendous roar. The four members took to the ring and Malakai Black addressed the fans in attendance, speaking in his usual way, vague but targeted and unsettling. Black talked about the group's ambition, blaming himself for their short comings in the Trios Tournament. He then said the All Seeing Eye did not show him the weakness that was before him, but trusted that it would now. Then, right on cue, Brody King grabbed Christopher Daniels from behind to the shock of the crowd. He wrapped his massive arms around Daniels', trapping him and not allowing him to protect himself. Black spun around and removed his hood, spraying Black Mist into Daniels' eyes. Stunned and blinded, Daniels couldn't stop the onslaught and eventual All Seeing Eye (Cradle Shock) from Brody King. With the crowd completely turned on him, Malakai Black watched as Daniels writhed in pain beneath him. He then took his boot under Daniels' chin and raised his head. -Malakai Black "There is no shame in death. It comes for us all." BLACK MASS! Daniels is out cold and moments later, the lights go completely out. When they come back on, The House of Black has disappeared and Christopher Daniels lies motionless in the ring as medical staff surround him. After the break a replay was shown of Christopher Daniels managing to walk out of the arena on his own power, but he was assisted and still unable to see. He moaned in pain as one medical staff member held a wet towel over his eyes. Jay Lethal also made an appearance, apologizing for his actions last week. The crowd seemed to buy it until Sonjay Dutt appeared, telling Lethal that he didn't have to apologize for anything, that he is the man here in Ring of Honor, and should be treated as such. Lethal seemed to agree with his long-time friend before being confronted by PJ Black, who demanded a rematch. Lethal obliged, and this time the match was clean...until the end when Dutt distracted the referee and Lethal once again hit a low blow on PJ Black, hitting a Lethal Injection and getting the 3-count to a round of boos. Trish Adora was in action again this week, this time facing Angelina Love. Before the match, Adora was confronted by Adrienne Moon, who promised her that if she won tonight, she would get a title shot at SOH:Rebirth. And that's exactly what Adora did, putting on her best match yet to the roar of the crowd, and almost stunning Love with her onslaught. Lariat Tubman almost knocked Love out cold and gave her the easy 3-count. Backstage now we get a quick interview with both ROH World Champion Johnny Gargano and #1 Contender Swerve Strickland. Gargano talked about how much the title meant to him and how lucky he was, but was interrupted by Swerve who said that kind of talk is what gets a man in trouble, and trouble was coming in the form of Swerve Strickland. Gargano took offence, getting in Swerve's face, reminding him of some of the hell he had been through to get here. Swerve chuckled, removed his shades, looked down his nose at Gargano, and replied "You don't know what hell is, son," before walking off. Rami Sebei then faced Jay Briscoe in singles action. Mark stood at his brother's corner but Kevin Steen was nowhere to be found. Sebei and Jay put on an excellent match, but Jay eventually got the win as Sebei's mind was clearly elsewhere. In the main event of the evening, Bryan Danielson defended the Pure Championship against Silas Young. Young had won a string of matches over the past month, earning the shot against Danielson, and said that "The Last Real Man was going to be the man to take back the Last Real Championship." It was a match of respect between two men that have been through the ringer over the past 20 years, and was an excellent bout. But while Silas held his own and came close to defeating Danielson late in the match, The American Dragon was just too much and he eventually submitted to the Lebell Lock. After the match, as Bryan Danielson celebrated, he was attacked from behind by members of United Empire. Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb & TJP jumped into the ring and beat the living hell out of Danielson. Will Ospreay simply watched from outside the ring, only entering once the damage was done to hit the Stormbreaker on Danielson. United Empire left the ring without saying a word, their message sent. BREAKING: Bryan Danielson declares for G1 Climax TournamentAEW Superstar and ROH Pure Champion Bryan Danielson has declared his intention to compete in the 31st edition of the G1 Climax this September. Danielson has long been vocal about competing in Japan and it looks like he will finally get his wish, and we couldn't be happier. Danielson has been one of the most dominant wrestlers on the planet since his debut in AEW last fall, only being pinned twice and sporting a 30-4-2 record overall. But there is an entire roster of elite wrestlers across the Pacific that he has yet to face, and only time will tell if he has what it takes to hang with the world's very best. It was rumoured that Danielson would have some involvement with NJPW after he was attacked by The United Empire after his last successful Pure Chmpaionship defence. Danielson has been off television since the attack, nursing his injuries, but plans to return ASAP and made this announcement in his first public appearance since said attack. This news comes just days before AEW x NJPW's joint PPV Forbidden Door, and while Danielson has not yet been announced for the show, you have to assume we'll get a sneak preview of things to come at that show.

ROH TV Episode #14: United Empire Reign Supreme, The Bad Boy Returns & MoreIt was an action-packed night in Ring of Honor as we ramp up the road to Supercard of Honor: Rebirth. A civil war broke out, a new major player returned to action, and the World Champion was left with a lot to think about. The show kicked off with Christopher Daniels standing alone in the ring. Daniels gave a heartfelt speech to the fans in attendance and those watching at home, and said that his time in the ring was done. He was going to hang it up, realizing that his time had come. After being stretchered out of the ring last week thanks to The House of Black, Daniels knew that he was needed elsewhere, bringing up the young talent and new ROH stars that would carry the company for years to come. That's when the music of ROH World Champion Johnny Gargano hit and he entered to a huge pop. Gargano kept things short and sweet: he told Daniels that he was one of the best to ever do it, a "wrestler's wrestler," if you will. And that he wasn't going to let him ride off into the sunset without getting one last match in...and that match would be for the ROH World Championship! Daniels accepted and the main event was set. After the break, United Empire entered the arena to a heavily mixed reaction. The entire group was present in ROH for the first time, and all 7 members crowded the ring. Will Ospreay was ready with the mic, and he kept things short, calling out Bullet Club. And Bullet Club obliged. Jay White, Chris Bey, El Phantasmo, Chase Owens, Hikuleo & The Good Brothers stepped onto the stage. White asked Ospreay if he was ready to do this, to which Ospreay answered of course, then with a smirk Jay White gave a nod and WHAM! The X-Division Champion Ace Austin and the NJPW United States Champion Juice Robinson attacked Ospreay from behind! The rest of Bullet Club quickly stormed the ring and made quick work of the rest of United Empire, then stood tall with Austin and Robinson, hitting them with a too sweet for good measure. Two major mid-card champions just joined Bullet Club USA's ranks! But General Manager Samoa Joe made good on his promise, sending the troops to clear Bullet Club out of his ring. Josh Woods, PJ Black, Bandido & Dragon Lee stormed the ring armed with chairs and anything else they could find, chasing Bullet Club off. Against his better judgment, Samoa Joe had aligned the ROH locker room with NJPW's United Empire to fight a greater evil...hopefully that was the right call. Rami Sebei continued his unfortunate losing streak, trying to stay positive and be a fighting member of the roster by taking on Moses. But without Kevin Steen at his side, Sebei was easy pickings for Moses, Kaun & Brian Cage. The three monsters used every last trick in the books to dismantle Sebei and give Moses the win, catapulting the trio into the tag team title picture and leaving Sebei & Steen in their dust. After the break, with Forbidden Door around the corner, ROH Television Champion Minoru Suzuki made an appearance and told the crowd (in Japanese) that he wanted the biggest challenge the ROH locker room had to offer, because he needed a proper warm-up before walking into Forbidden Door with the ROH Television Championship. After a moment, the lights went out... Joey Janela returns! The Bad Boy makes a beautiful entrance, rocking out to Andrew WK with the Pit Vipers gleaming and the beer flowing. Janela slams a solo cup of brown and tosses it into the crowd before getting right in Suzuki's face. The referee has to separate The Murder Grandpa from The Bad Boy before the bell can ring, and the second it does Janela drives at Suzuki with his elbow flying and his mullet flowing in the wind. The match is a brutal fight, as one would expect, with Janela throwing everything he has at Suzuki and Suzuki taking every opportunity to dish out pain and drop Janela on his head. But when it's all said and done, Janela sucks up the pain for just long enough to wrap Suzuki in a small package and earns his first major singles title! The crowd goes wild and gives both men a standing ovation as Janela celebrates, barely able to stand. Suzuki gives him props before ducking out of the ring, but the cameras and mics catch him vowing to see Janela again before he heads back to Japan. Then in the night's main event, it was an emotional affair as one would expect. Christopher Daniels is showered with streamers, easily the most streamers we've seen since ROH returned to the air nearly 4 months ago. Daniels is already in tears as the bell rings and he and Gargano shake hands in the centre of the ring. It feels like the outcome of the match is already a foregone conclusion, but as the battle goes on and both men exchange dominance, a glimmer of hope emerges as The Fallen Angel somehow connects with a spike DDT and the Best Moonsault Ever. The crowd rises to its feet as the count is made, but at 2.99 Johnny Gargano throws his shoulder into the sky and the disappointment heard 'round the world echoes through the arena. From there, it's all over but the crying as Johnny Gargano rallies and eventually locks in the GargaNoEscape. Daniels nearly reaches the ropes, but Gargano plants his foot and flips back into the centre of the ring. There's nowhere to go. It's over. Daniels never taps, but he fades and goes to sleep, his career ending in the centre of an ROH ring in defeat. Johnny Gargano doesn't celebrate. The referee awards him the title but he sets it aside and waits for Christopher Daniels to wake up. When he does, Gargano thanks him and bows, and he and Daniels embrace on their knees as even more streamers fly into the ring. Gargano helps Daniels to his feet and raises his arm. Both men are in tears. The crowd is in tears. Commentary and Samoa Joe and everyone at home is in tea- POW!!!Out of NOWHERE Swerve Strickland dives into the ring and wipes out Christopher Daniels with a steel chair! Johnny Gargano doesn't have a moment to react as Strickland lines him up and drops him as well with a crack straight to the skull! Strickland smiles wide and enjoys the moment as the fans completely turn, booing and tossing trash into the ring. Swerve Strickland kneels down and picks up the ROH World Championship, looks at it, then drapes it over Johnny Gargano's chest. He kisses his finger and presses it against Christopher Daniels' forehead, then leaves as ROH TV goes off the air.[/b] Quick ResultsROH World ChampionshipJohnny Gargano (c) def.
