So here in AEW, the Bucks are co-founders, EVPs and basically as high up on the roster as one can get. They are wrestling relative newcomer and to some degree 'who is this guy' Rocky Romero so it looks like a complete mismatch.

But in NJPW, in many ways where the seeds of AEW were planted, the Bucks were a tag team -- so likely midcard -- and over in that universe Romero is in the same midcard range. So Romero shouldn't have any star-struck vibes or fear of wrestling them.

This could go anywhere from "Bucks annihilate rando Cuban from Japan" to "perennial midcarder fights Bucks as an equal" and it would be equally plausible.

Wrestling, man.

I like that Excalibur always reminds the viewer of what they're seeing. Right off the bat he said this was the CHAOS vs Bullet Club feud spilling over from NJPW to AEW.

Punk really enjoyed being a heel and ripping into the crowd. Great segment to see, doing MJF's shtick in MJF's hometown better than MJF does. Perhaps went on a little too long but good stuff.

Then we had MJF being a pseudo-babyface in the Battle Royale. Didn't watch it all but interesting finish. I only wish Dante Martin was a better actor. He has this blank look on his face all the time, doesn't convey any emotion whatsoever. So when he surprised me by joining Team Taz, then by eliminating Ricky Starks, I didn't feel as much as I should have.

Rocky Romero (with various partners) fought The Bucks a bunch of times in Japan. That's all I have to say about that. I skipped the match. Seemed to go on forever. Beretta returns looking like Jon Moxley-lite. I don't care. Next.

Danielson vs John Silver, another excellent exhibition from the American Dragon. He always finds the right balance between making his opponent look good while still making it clear that he is in another league. Most guys in that position wrestle a 50/50 match (like Punk vs Johnson last week), Danielson is capable of greater things.

Jamie Hayter vs Riho was excellent, glad they gave them a lot of time.

I don't care for Trent but his return was a nice, heartwarming moment.
