Yeah, the cap situation isn’t as dire as people make it out to be. Local Saints reporter Nick Underhill broke down how they can get under the cap pretty easily. The downside is that the Saints don’t have much in the way of big contracts they can cut to save. It will likely involve more contract restructures and extensions until the salary cap explodes in the next couple of years. I’m not sure how they resign Armstead and Marcus Williams though. I’m interested to see what direction they go with the head coach position. Everyone down here assumes Dennis Allen gets promoted which would make the most sense. I think he deserves a second chance as a head coach.

I’m glad the Jaguars got one decision right. Granted I wish they’d gotten rid of Baalke, but this seemed like the obvious choice from the first day and I thought they were gonna screw it up. Left which may wind up being terrible, but it was such a home run for what that franchise needed coming out of that last disaster.
Also I wonder if this does anything to the Brady retirement calculus.

How much of it is actually Payton, though? The only thing they got going for them is that the division could be easily winnable depending on what happens with the Buccaneers in the off-season.

Trent Baalke is out in Jacksonville, he got 1 year too many. Ex Cardinal safety great Adrian Wilson who is the VP of pro scouting for the Cards will be the Jags GM and Byron Leftwich is the signal favorite, social media will love two black men running the show for a minority owner.

I like Eli for his durability and levelheadness and defended him pre this PW whenever he caught some flack but cmon he ain't better than Rodgers.  Eli Manning has as many rings as Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning would laugh at you for even saying he's better than Peyton. Much less in the same stratosphere.
