I don't mind CM Punk winning the way he did, honestly I'm intrigued in seeing what they do with Wardlow. If AEW plays their cards right, the crowd is gonna erupt into cheers, when Wardlow pulls a Batista and turns on MJF.

Hangman vs. Archer? Lance Archer isn't at the top of the list, as far as people I'd like to see Page defend the title against. Having said that, Archer isn't a bad choice I guess, as far as a quick Hangman title defense goes either.

Fuck yeah, Brody King has finally arrived and I'm All In on the House of Black.

Unsurprisingly Garcia/Guevara delivered.

Emperor's rundown.

- Solid opening segment. It's rare I'm interested in those Elite/Undisputed guys, but that wasn't bad. Obviously Britt Baker was the highlight, seeing her and Adam Cole finally unite on AEW TV was a pretty cool moment.

- Wasn't sure how Wardlow vs Punk was going to down, but I certainly wasn't expecting that. Wardlow destroys one of the top guys on the roster in the same way he beat all those jobbers. I know Wardlow is AEW's longest term build (now that Hangman has won the belt), but it's been dragged out for far too long. Tease after tease after tease. Hopefully they'll not wait much longer. Until MJF vs CM Punk blows over, then we will finally get that sweet and long overdue release of Wardlow powerbombing the fuck out of MJF.

- Dante Martin vs Will Hobbs was fantastic. That's how you work a bruiser vs flyer match. It helps that Martin is spectacular. He has unique crazy offense, like Darby Allin but more athletic. Also loved that desperation forearm that started his comeback.

- Inner Circle winning faction of the year is a joke. In 2020, sure, but not 2021. They barely appear together. Jake Hager appeared maybe twice in the entire year. They don't feel like a unit anymore, just a random collection of dudes.

- I have no idea what that Eddie Kingston stuff was about. Don't think I care either.

- Saw that MJF bait and switch coming a mile away. Let me get this straight. MJF's big feud with Cody: Cody has to go through a bunch of labours, one being a match with Wardlow. MJF's big feud with Jericho: the literal five labours of Jericho, one being a match with Wardlow. Where Jericho gets powerbombed a lot and still wins. MJF's big feud with CM Punk. Well, they're not mentioning labours, but that's exactly what it is. Much like Wardlow's turn, they're dragging out this feud a lot. Punk vs Wardlow is fine, because Wardlow is great, but if they're gonna do this for several more weeks, I can't say my interest will remain.

- Britt Baker is one of the few people who can get me to pay attention to Adam Cole and buddies.

- Dan Lambert is so fucking good. In one promo he both put Hangman over huge, and gave a genuine reason to have soem beef with him, based on his own wrestling fandom. Kudos to Hangman for hanging with him, he could have easily been left high and dry on the mic but he had a good enough retort. Don't know or remember the history between Archer and Lambert, but Archer vs Hangman is interesting. A filler defense for sure, but an interesting one. Does shit all over the ranking system though if he does get a title shot. Danielson may have a word or two to say about that. My point is: Dan Lambert is amazing.

- Serena Deeb is very angry. But she has a perfect strategy to get easy wins. Just do that every match and she will be champion in no time. Unfortunately once she's champion she will have to come out to the ring second so her ambush strategy wouldn't work...

- Remember a few years back when Pentagon Jr. was one of the hottest single acts in wrestling? Now he has a new ring name and he's in a tag team where he's overshadowed by his brother, who people say is one of the best singles wrestlers in the world. I doubt a singles match with Matt Hardy will do anything to change his reputation. I'm not going to watch the match to find out either.

- OH MY GOD MALAKAI BLACK TRANSFORMED INTO A BIGGER, FATTER VERSION OF HIMSELF!!!!

- I know it's Brody King really. I've seen him on NJPW Strong. Cool.

- What the hell happened to PAC anyway? Is he injured like Fenix?

- Oh, there's PAC! I gotta admit I forgot about the whole being blinded thing. Of course he makes a fucking incredible promo about it. He could have spoken up a bit, had to turn up my volume to an unreasonable level.

- I like Sammy having a realistic brawl with Daniel Garcia much more than I like Canadian Destroyers through tables and Sammy spiking himself on his head in stupid ways.

- I still don't know what Eddie Kingston's deal is. Is he in Garcia's corner? I thought they were enemies? I'm confused. This is obviously going to end in some bullshit shenanigans.

- OK, only a small amount of shenanigans. Sammy wins, no surprise. Great main event though.

Emperor to answer your question about Eddie Kingston, he's been talking shit about Chris Jericho for a while now, and seems to be trying to steal Santana and Ortiz away from the Inner Circle. His motive is that he sees more potential in them than Jericho does, or so he says, and that Jericho is holding them back for his own benefit. Jericho of course denies this and Santana and Ortiz are choosing to side with him for now.

Kingston, Santana and Ortiz got into a brawl with 2.0 and Daniel Garcia while Jericho was away on tour, and it hasn't really been resolved yet. They fought in a six-man tag team match on Rampage recently, but for whatever reason they're still feuding. There's a weird 3-way feud going on where Santana and Ortiz want to be Kingston's friend, but also feel they owe a lot to Jericho and the Inner Circle, and Garcia & 2.0 randomly inserted themselves in the middle of it because they're pissed off at Eddie Kingston.

It's probably all leading to a blow-off match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, which I'm not really looking forward to. It might be a fun match but it might also be a total dud.

Oh, BTW. Shida posted on Twitter that she was heading back to Japan for a while. So that possible rubber match with Deeb is likely not gonna happen at Revolution.

Eddie Kingston is absolutely right, in and out of kayfabe. Santana and Ortiz have done fucking nothing since basically they joined up with Jericho. Their only big angle/match outside of being Jericho's minions has been the feud with the Best Friends. The Inner Circle has actively harmed their careers.

Either year that probably would have been a joke . I don't even like them but the Elite 100% should have got it for this year. Holding the world title and tag team titles for both AEW and Impact for a good chuck of the year. 2020 would have been the Undisputed Era.

Depends how long a while is. Revolution isn’t until March so she could come back.

Or they are using Deeb’s attack to write her off TV for a while. Either way Shida will get her revenge when she returns.

I had to look into this.

Their last match on Dynamite was on December 8th but that was an eight-man tag team match and they lost.

So you'd have to go back to the November 17th match against Dante Martin and Lio Rush, which they lost.

Before last night, they hadn't won a match on Dynamite since beating SCU back in December of 2020. That match was merely there to build them up for their loss to the Young Bucks on the next show.

Sting and Darby aren't in the Top 5.
