Was revealed last weekend why Gage never signed with AEW. GCW just signed him exclusively. He is the only person with a hard contract and likely was put into place so Gage could do more intense deathmatches without risking losing out on cash if he gets hurt.

Good deal on his part. Do wish he got a run in AEW though and him and Mox got to do a true modern deathmatch for AEW.

It's not about size, it's about marketability. Finn Balor is a lot more marketable than Kevin Owens for example. I know Vince loves Owens but I also don't think he's front and centre on a WrestleMania poster. You can name examples of guys that buck the trend like Drew McIntyre, but in general, NXT did a better job of bringing through the glamorous, colourful women that occupy the main event scene today than they did bring through men. It's not about saying HHH was wrong. It was just a confusing system there were huge creative differences between developmental and main.

I don't want to pollute the AEW thread with too much of this, but as I said when NXT 2.0 started, it may not be a compelling thing to watch in and of itself, but it will probably serve the main roster better in the long run, particularly at the tippy top of the card where they desperate for something fresh.

Reports are Joey Janela may not be resigned. These are the cuts that AEW will need to make if they want to keep signing people.  His contract has not been renewed and expires in May.

It has been suggested that Keith Lee's release from WWE, which shocked a lot of people, may have been his own doing to some extent.

Wade Keller addressed the new AEW wrestler on his PWTorch audio show and stated that he's been told by people that know Keith Lee that they think he needs to get in better shape and that his own attitude is part of the problem.

“I’m not in the Keith Lee hater club,” Keller said. “I am his only friend because I’m not enabling him and acting like the reason that he hasn’t succeeded as much as he should is the fault only of Vince McMahon. It’s not, it’s on him. And this is from friends who care about him and who talked to me.

"If Keith Lee is wrestling, he’s in the ring wrestling putting his health and the well-being of his opponent on the line. If he’s cleared for that, he can be cleared to work out and get in shape. If the idea that he can’t possibly get in shape because he had COVID, and he might die, or he went through stress, then take some time and get in shape or don’t wrestle if you can’t. I mean, that’s not an argument.”

Keller is the one reporting on the Keith is a fatty who will die in the ring killing himself and his opponent story. AEW not likely to care about his weight and will let his health be his own thing.

I would wait for this to be confirmed as some others on the AEW roster said it is crap.

We will know soon though. AEW is more old school in structure so Lee pulls an ego, he will be brought cut down, and if it comes to it, sent home until he is released. Vince is notorious for demanding guys cut weight even if they have medical shit going on like Dreamer that prevents it. Tony likely does not care so long as they can still work.

Likely will hear the hear story about Joe coming in overweight and hurt.

Matt Hardy did it years ago, claimed he couldn't work out due to injury, but was bumping like a mad-man every night.. I mean, come on man.

Not a matter of working out for some, it is matter of metabolic shit. Some people it is just not healthy do the bodybuilding as they have an excess of fat cells, so the sole way to drop weight is to starve, which then would set you up for injury. The whole Lee is out shape shit is not really an issue IMO. The ego rumors are far more concerning. Lee always was a big guy though. Even if he were to drop weight, he will still never have the look that people want. And it is stupid to expect someone who looked a certain way their whole career to sign then look different.

Good pick up. Dude is hella talented. Perfect midcard title guy.  Also as fucking hardcore as they come.  He worked with glass before, most notably in Lucha Underground as Killshot.

Fightful reported earlier that AEW picked up the option on Brian Cage’s contract. Kinda interesting. Either Tony is doing him a solid to make sure he gets a paycheck for another year or two, or they plan to bring him back at some point.

Hopefully that means they have plans to use Brian Cage again.

Swerve is a good pickup, was always impressed by him and sort of felt like he got a raw deal given Hit Row sorta got their legs cut out from under them. Given Lio Rush flamed out, Swerve is basically Lio Rush but without the baggage. 

Claudio is friends with a lot of the roster. He has his gamer buds, CHIKARA buds, ex-WWE guys buds, ect.

They will be bringing him most likely. Black was just talking about him and being shocked WWE let him leave.

Swerve is everything Lio was but better. Swerve will literally do it all. That lucha underground match with the barbwire and glass was just insane.

Wow. It's not like they called fans a homophobic slur at a 2011 house show and it ended up on TMZ.
