David Ojabo was tempting(Not sure if DET double dips on EDGE with Thibs and Ojabo!) but Kid made the choice for me much like he did with 2 vs 4 in this draft. We took a blue chip cornerback prospect and a tall WR, we still need EDGE in the worst way. Carl Lawson was on the same injury Ojabo is attempting to recover from right now and to try and put all your eggs in his basket isn't fair to him or the team. Jets need a backup plan and even though I think we use our 1st pick later this month on the position, for this draft, it's time to go after this big need. With the 35th pick, the NY Jets select EDGE Arnold Ebiketie out of Penn State A Temple transfer, he essentially replaced Micah Parsons & Oweh and had a sensational year. Add he has been money in the measureables and stats in this pre-draft process, and he has a shot to be picked on Thursday. Jets will gladly take him here, a lot of potential. Some people have compared him to Yannick Ngakoue even! He was on the Jets team this past Senior Bowl here so it's about time they go after someone with a little familiarity. BIG BLUE OTC @admin !

With the 36th pick the New York Giants select Daxton Hill, S, Michigan. With Logan Ryan released and the future of James Bradberry still in flux the Giants need to reinforce their secondary. Hill projects well as a Ryan replacement with his experience playing as the nickel defender in Mike McDonald's (who's replaced new Giants DC Wink Martindale in Baltimore) system in Michigan, after playing a more traditional deep safety role earlier in his career. I think his elite explosiveness and closing ability would be a good fit for a team who is still looking for guys like Aaron Robinson and Darnay Holmes to prove themselves. Todd is up with the Texans

Jets need some more beef in the interior DLine, especially with the loss of Foley Fatukasi over to the Jags on that 10 mill per deal. Fatukasi wasn't a good fit under Saleh but this player will be. Someone who shined bright on Senior Bowl practices for the Jets all week long was this player and he had a fair case to win the player of the game over Perrion Winfrey, his fellow defensive tackle. This player might be more of a mid 2nd round type of talent but he's considered DT3 after the two Bulldog behemoths in the middle. Jets stay local and grab the UConn prospect, will be a good fit, especially when the Jets have Quinnen Williams-the injury prone Sheldon Rankins-Nathan Sheppard and the underachieving Solomon Thomas in the interior D-Line. Youth is needed and the Jets with the pick acquired from Sam Darnold accomplish this. Jones name of the game is run stuffing with some upside to maybe get to the passer, projects similar to Kris Jenkins(hopefully without the injuries!). With the 38th pick, the NY Jets select DT Travis Jones out of Connecticut Sauce Gardner-Arnold Ebitekie-Travis Jones will be big time for this low ranked defense. DA BEARS OTC UT Pick for your arch nemesis!

It hurts my heart but I have to be fair… The Bears select: Jahan Dotson , WR , Penn State Dotson is one of my favorite receivers in the class as well , was hoping the Packers would find a way to pair him with someone else but I don’t feel he falls this far. Went with the bigger guy in round one and it cost me. Bears desperately need receivers and Dotson is a day one starter in the slot and someone who would be a great pairing with Mooney. @admin

LOL. My initial reaction is that I hate this because we have up next years pick. I also hate making this trade now as opposed to draft night where you know who is available. I do understand the logic of getting two more controllable contracts with an extra year as opposed to spending money on free agents to fill holes. This is basically the Saints and Mickey Loomis playing with future cap money. My thought is they jumped in front of the Chargers and draft a tackle with the first pick and then the second first round pick they grab a WR. The second round pick could be a DB. I hate giving up next years first round pick because if Jamies doesn’t work out and it’s a high pick, we screwed ourselves out of getting a top QB prospect.

Seattle selects Darian Kinnard, OL, Kentucky. Kinnard seems like one of those college tackles who will be better off at guard in the NFL - but we all know the Seahawks are desperate for assistance anywhere across their offensive line. Scouting reports don't have him as a can't miss type player but he has the runs on the board as a reliable 3+ year starter in the SEC who gave up minimal pressures (7 last season), plays with some real ferocity (79 knockdown blocks over the last two seasons) and would provide some real competition to Damien Lewis who had a disappointing sophomore season. UT is up again with the Colts

With the 42nd pick in the 2022 Mock Draft , the Colts select:
Nik Bonitto , Edge , Oklahoma
He's a bit of a one trick pony as a speed rusher but that's arguably the Colts biggest need and would allow them to get even more creative on the defensive side of the ball.
@theshow and the Falcons are up.

Oh my bad, give Seattle Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia as well! They lost their best corner DJ Reed to the Jets in free agency which leaves them with only Sidney Jones as a proven outside starter. Kendrick won't go in the first round because he doesn't have elite speed but he's got a lot of other traits such as his physicality and size that Seattle has traditionally loved in their secondary.

Ravens went for the EDGE in round 1 and they could absolutely shore up their OT depth but they will bank on the durable Morgan Moses to hold the fort at RT for 1 year. What they need to do however is address the cornerback depth, even their GM in the past day or so Eric DeCosta has gone on record that he isn't happy about the depth. And for good reason. Shit Lamar Jackson even was campaigning to (Jets in this mock draft) cornerback Ahmad Gardner to come on board! Marlon Humphery is returning from a season ending injury, Marcus Peters also losing his season early to a season ender, and a bunch of unknowns. This pick will get the Day 2 slot CB inside with the hope that with enough seasoning, he can take over if disaster strikes the Baltimore secondary. Given they spent the bank on Marcus Williams, this Ravens secondary will be in far better shape than it was last year, in addition to the hopeful pass rush that will come in 2022. With the 45th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select CB Kyler Gordon out of Washington Yes he lacks straight line speed(4.5 40 time and he didn't do the run at his pro day last week) and that might give NFL/ UT PTSD fueled visions of another 2nd round CB from Washington who will not be named, but the technique, length, ridiculous jump has Gordon becoming a very strong cornerback prospect in his own right. Teams didn't want to go after 1st rounder(in this mock draft) Trent McDuffie and teams also were gunshy to go after Gordon so these two made up one of the best cornerback duos in the nation. He will start at slot CB but if Peters or Humphrey go down, he may be 1st in line to go outside. Ideal situation for Gordon. KING KID and the VIKINGS OTC

MINNESOTA VIKINGS DRAFT: DT PERRION WINFREY (OKLAHOMA) Look at that picture! He looks like a bad ass! This is Minnesotas division to lose this season so even with the FA signings, you want to make sure you're building that defense up. Even with the FA signings, they need to smash this draft. The offense has all the weapons it needs and going Stingley/Winfrey in Rounds 1 & 2 is the perfect way to build it up. DanTheMan is up with the Redskommanders.

Damn was really hoping Pickens would continue to fall , he's starting to grow on me more and more as I keep watching him and reading about him. I actually think he is in play for the Packers at 28 and I'd be okay with it. Getting him this late could be a steal.

With the 53rd pick in the Second Round , MY GREEN BAY PACKERS SELECT: Trey McBride , TE , Colorado State The Packers don't just need receivers , they need pass catchers in general and McBride is the best tight end in the class and easily the most well rounded. He's a got a little Kittle and Goedert in him - not to say he will ever be as elite as Kittle but that's a bit what his game and energy reminds me off. Only a decent athlete but has great route running skills and even better hands. With Tonyan only back on a one year deal and coming off serious injury I could easily see McBride take on a big role in this offense year one and be a long term starter with us. Receivers get bunched up around this spot so we can get another one next. @admin and the Patriots are on the clock
