After months of joking about it, and just one day after Bullet Club “invaded” Raw, WWE sent The Young Bucks an ACTUAL cease and desist letter over the “Too Sweet” hand gesture.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed WWE reached out to the popular Ring of Honor/NJPW tag team to say they own the copyright to the “Too Sweet” hand gesture and have discovered that the brothers have been using it in other companies, as well as on merch.

Therefore, WWE is demanding the Bucks stop using WWE intellectual property in-ring and on any merchandise immediately. If not, they may be hit with $150K in damages or more.

They also want an agreement in writing saying the brothers wont use WWE IP again in the future.

I guess they didn't find the invasion too funny. At least, not when they're on the other side of it.

Even if this cease and desist holds, The Young Bucks will be fine without it.

It was their version of the WCW Tank outside of Raw this week. I am sure footage will be on the next Being the Elite episode.

I think this is ridiculous because I don’t see how WWE owns the rights to it, but either way Bucks will be fine.

They own the rights if they patented it and it got accepted. As far as my research tells me there is almost 60 different hand gestures registered as a trademark though most of those only apply to putting it on clothing or merchandise. There is really only one case that I found that held up to actuall using the gesture live and in person being prohibited. 

So while the WWE may lose the on the idea that The Young Bucks can't use it in the ring , they will more than likely win as far as The Young Bucks putting it on there merchandise. 

Either way you can't nip at the big dogs heels , and then cry foul when the big dog bites back. Stay in your lane Young Bucks.

DDP would probably argue otherwise. I forget the exact details, but owning the IP rights to his diamond/bang hand gesture won him a fair bit o' money from some rapper or rap group in some kind of settlement back in the late 90s or early 2000s.

Word it however you like I suppose , but the fact remains that if you go out of your way to get on the WWE's radar you can't cry foul when the WWE notices you and stops you from making money off their IP's.

Didn't Candy Crush try and copyright the world candy or something similar happened with another company? Never underestimate greed.

If they are putting in on merchandise and making money off from it , you damn right they will and should. I don't know why you don't understand that no one is allowed to use other peoples IP's to make money for themselves. I can't open a fast foot restaurant , make burgers and start slapping the golden arches on there , I would get sued , it's common sense.

Who's being petty? The WWE didn't even care until those assclowns showed up on their doorsteps wearing their IP's? The Young Bucks are the petty ones. 

And you can't tell me that if YOU created something , or owned something you would be perfectly fine with other people making money off of it , essentially taking money out of your own pocket.

The Bucks are one of the hottest acts in wrestling. They'll survive and this will only make them more loved because of the Evil Empire.

meh, I don't like many things on the main roster to watch it watch Raw or Smackdown frequently enough to let it bother me.

I saw something on Twitter that said that WWE didn't even own the rights to the gesture in the first place. Dont know if that's true but I do know that Scott Hall gave his blessing for The Bucks and the rest of the BC to use the gesture.

Whatever happens though I hope The Bucks will be okay.
