That was a flat out inspirational game from Jimmy Butler. Last time I saw anything like that facing elimination was Lebron in Game 6 vs Boston in 2012.

I heard this take on Simmons podcast today and it’s something I’ve agreed with for awhile - they really should stop rewarding players that just jump in the way of a guy going to the basket. The charge that Oladipo pulled on Jalen Brown the other night is the best example I can think of in awhile. Oladipo jumps in front of Brown, makes no attempt to make a ply, absorbs the contact, goes down hard, and gets the call. He could’ve hurt himself or Brown and wasn’t doing anything remotely entertaining for the game in doing it.

There are definitely offensive fouls that should be called, but if you are crossing your arms to take the contact you should be the definition of blocking.

Looked like a textbook charge to me.  Crossing your arms has nothing to do with it.   Oladipo established position and was outside the restricted area.

It was a textbook charge. I’m saying that the rule is stupid, not that Oladipo did it wrong. If you’re not making a defensive play other than jumping in the way, you shouldnt be rewarded. Crossing his arms has everything to do with my point, that Oladipo had no intent but blocking the incoming players route.

Jimmy Butler is doing everything for Miami so far.
