DT Perrion Winfrey won the Senior Bowl MVP and hits a need at DT, the Jets coaching staff really liked him. He has a hot/cold motor which is why he's probably still here

LB Leo Chenal....... UT's boy. A Jim Leonhard(Ex Jets) favorite, potential 3 down Linebacker who can be the successor to CJ Mosley down the road.

OT Daniel Faalele.....The 6'9 380 lb from Australia(Big Pete ), can you imagine Mehki Becton and this guy in a locker room. Imagine the OLine Coach trying to be on both guys ass for the weight LOL. He did good in the Senior Bowl, work in progress but he'd be a project at Tackle who would only come in if someone got hurt.

I think they go Wiinfrey. Could be wrong.

It's gonna be downright scary; some of these franchises are underestimating Malik.

This is a much better situation than him winding up in Carolina. Dude's got amazing character (from what one can readily observe, of course) and sky high potential.

No offense to him personally but I'm hoping Willis makes Shittsburgh regret picking Kenny "Take My Strong Hand" Pickett over him a few years down the road.

wow Jets stay on Long Island and take OSU TE Jeremy Ruckert. Him and Wilson stay together. Jets liked him alot at senior bowl, could not play due to death of a grantparent IIRC. Going to be a better pro. Cool with it.

Winfrey still around a few picks away from KC. I might get my guy either way.

Thankfully ESPN pivoted away from all that poverty porn shit this year, their coverage was actually really quite good. Booger became a meme on MNF but he's actually a decent talking head on a studio desk. I enjoyed the NFL comparison video packages they had for quite a few of the draftees, where they had college footage of them making a nice play followed up by a veteran making the exact same play in the pros - that must have taken a lot of research to compile.

That's cool, Faleele has been one of those 'remember the name' stories down here since 2017. He was already well and truly in the Gridiron system before Rugby League could make any overtures so I'm not as familiar with him as I was with Jordan Mailata.

Pretty solid night for the Texans again. I know we probably one or two more drafts before competing, but it’s nice to see the wheels set in motion. Interesting they didn’t take a tackle which I presume means Howard will move back to tackle whether he likes it or not. We’ll see how that goes. I liked Howard as a tackle in his first season after he was considered a first round reach by a lot of people, hopefully he can keep developing at that position. I’m glad we didn’t take a pass rusher, since we showed promise in that area last season, and also glad we didn’t take a running back because it’s probably pointless. Overall pretty happy.

Also Kyle Brandt is awesome.

Didn’t hate the Ryan pick. It makes sense. Best pick of the draft so far.

People getting chesty about Malik Willis being drafted where he should have been drafted is funny.

And it’s honestly the best thing for him.

Winfrey and Faalele still stand. Also LB like Barnes of PSU still around. Raw LBer but he can ride the pine while Quincy Williams, Sherwood, CJ Mosley, and Nasrildeen continue to work inside. 

Jets really need a LBer with these final two picks today. I would like to see them trade down to get like a 6th but if they pick early and that's it, I get to enjoy my Saturday knowing the Jets improved their team.

a future lockdown cornerback in a division with the likes of Stefan Diggs and Tyreek Hill, might be a little growing pain with the adjustment but a lot to like
a potential WR1 with a mega catch radius and ability to get open routinely to help Zach Wilson out
a Robin to Batman(Carl Lawson if he can return to form) as far as EDGE goes and someone who will get on the field day 1 
a potential workhorse back in the mold of Matt Forte who can catch the ball, pick up blitzes and run with speed and decision
a sound blocking TE with some upside as a catcher and can step up if Uzomah and or Conklin go down


Really good stuff. I came in very pessimistic about what the Jets were going to do, especially pick 4 but they blew me away. Joe Douglas said he needed to put Zach Wilson in a better spot and he did. He really did. It's on Zach Wilson to get better now. 

San Diego State has a punter that might go in round 4 today, maybe the Giants pull the trigger on him. Matt Araiza. We only saw 1 potential STer taken yesterday in Marcus Jones to NE. After McPherson went for broke last year, we gotta see at least 1 kicker and or punter taken.

York is going to go today too. Probably 5th round but could sneak into the end of the fourth. And I pray the Packers just go ahead and take the long snapper. We need him. He will be a better pick than Quay Walker.

The thing about the Chenal pick that’s a little weird is he’s so much like Bolton. Very strong downhill player - weird the Chiefs would double down on that. Both great players so they can make work.

Becton's personal OLine coach and a well regarded OLine coach has Max Mitchell as a client too. We needed depth in case Fant or Becton goes down, which happened in the latter's case in Week 1. 

Have 1 more pick coming up, do you go DT/NT or LB?

Jets double down on EDGE, get Michael Clemons from Texas A&M. Okay I guess........

that's about it for the Jets barring some maneuvering involving next year's draft picks.

EDIT: oh multiple arrests, 25 years old and injury history. Our answer to Wyatt then. Probably the first dud pick of the class, ah well 6/7 are pretty good.
