Is this Danhausen's first match?

His first match in AEW, yeah. He's been waiting to be cleared because his leg was injured.

That's a pretty solid card.

I've seen it pointed out, but Harwood vs. Cole has shades of Bret vs. Shawn. You've got the outspoken Bret supporter in Dax taking on the closest thing we have to the next Shawn Michaels in Cole. I'm sure they'll find a way to incorporate that into the match.

I could be off but it feels like the bloom is off the rose with the Hardy Boyz and fans can really take or leave them at this point. So we're getting Jeff/Darby which is the one Dream Match fans had in mind with Jeff and I hope they really tear it up. Both guys have that carefree attitude to their matches so I'll be disappointed if we don't get at least one memorable bump out of it.

Otherwise give me Jeff/Punk The Rematch and I'm good with Jeff.

I hope Jamie Hayter kills it with Toni. Jamie is right up there with Matt Menard in terms of playing for the camera and while the DMD stuff has been fun, her being a heater for Britt has a ceiling and it'd be a shame that if she found herself in that exact same position in six months time. Hopefully this is the match that gets her some attention and also gets some buzz around Toni.

No complaints from me in terms of Ricky Starks/Jungle Boy, that's the AEW stuff I enjoy right there.

I won't complain about watching Punk. I'm sure it will be a career highlight for Silver although like Hayter, I'm done with him and the rest of the Dark Order crew being goons for Hangman.

And hey put me down for being interested in Danhausen's debut. I'm a little concerned that it's a last minute announcement but hopefully they've got this mapped out well so Danhausen doesn't bomb. Lord knows he's carrying the bulk of the interest here because I remember there being a ton of speculation that Nese had quietly been released around the start of the year.

On Rampage Tony Neese challenged Danhausen to a match on Dynamite, then later Danhausen asked Hook to be in his corner, so it's not completely out of the blue.

Also, expect Hook.

It's not so much that it's out of the blue since they've been building towards it, but that they only announced it a day before. It suggests to me they weren't confident of fitting it onto the show until later and it could be an after-thought when they ought to be careful about how they put this segment together.

I feel the opposite. Tony does this almost every week with matches he knows will create buzz. There’s always a card of 3-4 matches announced around the weekend, then they hold back a match or two for Tony to announce on Tuesday that will grab some last minute interest.

I don't care about Tony Neese. I'm here to watch Danhausen!!!!!

Usually it's a low maintenance segment that's easy to throw together. For instance Punk vs. Pentagon Jr - you really don't need to put too much thought behind it. Whereas I think Danhausen may need some smoke and mirrors.

But hey that's a part of the charm of AEW. Sometimes they aren't afraid to have a total bomb on their show and take it from there. At least they give the fans the opportunity to see for themselves instead of outright denying them the opportunity.

Still, I can see this segment going a few ways.

So who kicks off the show? CM Punk, Adam Cole or Danhausen?

I think Punk will set the tone for the night.
