A better example would be the Cowboys, even though they had success somewhat recently.
-Richest, most popular team worldwide. -Lightyears ahead of the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers as far as popularity goes. -SHOULD be more successful than they are. -Never seem to get it done when it’s supposed to be “their year.”

Twin Cities/Buffalo/Cleveland are #1 in the US, probably Vancouver in Canada. Toronto at least has the history of the Leafs, an NBA title and the Blue Jays won a couple pennants in the 90's. Vancouver has one team who can never get out of their own way to win just one cup and the Grizzlies play in Memphis now. 'Nuck said.
Cincinnati at least has the lineage of the Reds (even if their shit now) and the Bengals are finally on the way up.
I'm a Cavs fan but that title barely counts for Cleveland. The true misery will not end for the city of Not Detroit until the Browns or GuardIANS win it all.
Honorable mentions: San Diego, anyone? They had their NFL team stolen and no one remembers the Pads winning a WS, so it basically didn't happen.
And if not for the Braves, Atlanta would have literally everyone beat here.

rad I did mention SD as an honorable mention. Nobody remembers the Padres winning the World Series because it never happened! They made it twice, losing in 84 and either 96 or 98. Another thing we forgot to mention is Minnesota having to go without a hockey team for 7 years in between the North Stars leaving and Wild arriving. MINNESOTA! Without hockey! That's just cruel. The sports gods must really have it in for that state.

The Gary Anderson miss , the Blair Walsh miss and the Favre interception against the Saints. All just heartbreaking for them. And joyous for me.

Right up there with Chicago Bears fans.

Right up there with Chicago Bears fans. The Leafs suffer from that too. It’s called having such a large fanbase that there are too many morons to ignore. Even when the Leafs were winning 20 games a season and signing washed up players to huge contracts, people were like “well that guy won a Cup 10 years ago they could do it again!”

I must have been confusing them for Baltimore or Detroit then. San Diego is definitely #1 or 2 for me after this revelation, close tie with yah you betchya-land. Or maybe Buffalo? I was actually a Sabres fan as a kid before the Blue Jackets became a team. That 99 cup loss to Dallas was brutal, which was probably nothing compared to witnessing the Hellraiser-esque Blue Ball Bills special of the early 90's.

No idea where Baltimore came from unless you're just trying to razz me, Poor Orioles haven't made a Series since winning in 1983. I was alive, but much too young to know what was going on, let alone appreciate it. Buffalo, San Diego, and your Cincy were my honorable mentions. I'd go... 1. Minnesota 2. Buffalo (NHL is the Big Four sports organization I've followed the least so I unaware of just how bad the Sabres had been) 3. San Diego 4. Cincinnati

We've gone too long without Detroit being mentioned. All four of their teams have been bottom feeders in their leagues for quite a while now, with the Lions obviously being historically bad, and you have to go back to the Red Wings dynasty around the millennium for any sort of consistent success.

Tigers made the world series 2x in the past 16 years, they have made it more times than the Yanks have in that span! They ripped off 4 straight AL Central title wins led by Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. They were always consistently good in the early 2010's.

Yeah we’re happy the Raptors won in 2019, but it’s already a distant memory and even moreso that the STUPID LEAFS ARE SO FUCKING STUPID GOD FUCKING DAMN IT AAAAHHHHH

Whats the least tortured sports town boston Good question. LA and San Francisco also come to mind as contenders off the top of my head. I’ll go through the details when I have time later. Carolina is another tortured pro sports region. No championships for the Panthers or their NBA teams in their 30ish year histories, though their hockey team did win one Stanley Cup….back in 2006. EDIT: Scrap San Fran or expand it to The Bay Area since the Warriors won all those recent championships playing in Oakland

People in NC care way more about the Carolina/Duke rivalry than ANYTHING in professional sports.

Carolina is another tortured pro sports region Gyro LC and thereallt I made sure to slip in that "pro" disclaimer because I know college basketball is king in Carolina. ============ Getting back to Least Tortured Sports Cities... Boston- Won a whopping 12 Big Four championships between 02-19. During that time the Patriots won 6 Super Bowls, Red Sox had 4 Series wins, Celtics won the NBA championship in 2008, and the Bruins brought the Stanley Cup to Beantown in 2011. Los Angeles- The Lakers have won 6 NBA Championships since 2000, but LA's real claim to the top spot rests on more recent history. They've won a championship in every Big Four sport since 2014- Kings in 2014, Dodgers & Lakers in 2020, and Rams this year. That's 3 championships over the past 2 years. Dodgers also have two recent WS losses while the Rams have a recent Super Bowl loss. And they went from zero NFL teams to two a few years ago. Rams have been hot ever since while the Chargers have a bright future. San Francisco- Had a very strong 2010s with the Giants & Warriors each winning 3 championship during the decade. Golden State also has 2 recent NBA Finals defeats. 49ers have been the weak link after carrying the city through the 80s & 90s, but even they have two recent Super Bowl losses.

Whats the least tortured sports town boston Definitely. I don't want to hear any complaining about not winning from them for the next 20 years. I went to school with a kid who only rooted for Boston teams. He's 100% from Ohio with 0 ties to New England (It was almost as asinine to me as wearing confederate gear in a former Union state). Anytime he'd bitch about the Red Sox or especially the Pats I vomited just a little bit in my brain. Except I guess he couldn't make it past third base, sorry Boston College. Seems our Buckeyes were just fair enough for his liking apparently.
