So I don’t know if AEW fans are aware, but Tony Khan promised that the Punk/Hangman match would not overlap a potential Heat/Celtics game seven. After Jimmy Butler’s heroics last night, game seven is happening. This is bizarre to me, counter programming live sports when you’re on PPV. This PPV is likely to run very late.

12 Matches? Guessing we are not planning on most matches breaking 10.
Just not feeling this PPV like at all. Couple of matches I will check out, but knowing how big the card is, feels like most could have just been on TV if they are getting 10 to 15 only.

I'm really looking forward to this show, not every match has my interest but the majority of them do. I'm mostly intrigued in seeing if they pull the trigger on CM Punk (which I believe they will), Hangman has had some great matches with this title reign, however, it's time to put the title on CM Punk.

Where are you guys at heading into the show?
For me, CM Punk has to beat Hangman Page in the main event. Not just for the sake of AEW, but for the sake of Hangman Page who has completely stalled as an act. Punk with the belt creates far more interest and it's the right time for him to win the title. CM Punk is not getting any younger and by giving him the belt now it creates a far better legacy for AEW moving forward. Hangman can always bounce back and I think it'll be his second run on top that will be better. You can even look at Punk as the golden example where it took him about his fourth reign to really get over.
I can't see AEW turning Punk heel here. If there is one thing AEW has done OK with, it's letting things play out naturally and for guys to fall into line. If the fans turn on Punk as a result of beating Hangman sure. Otherwise let the fans bask in the glory.
Big opportunity this for Thunder Rosa to establish herself against Deeb. Her title run has been less than stellar but there's obviously something there and while they kind of exposed Deeb's weaknesses as a promo in the ring she's one of the best workers in the company, period. For me, this is d-day and if Rosa can't steal the show with Deeb it's over and we should get back on the DMD Express because she's clearly the star of the division.
With that said, Britt is really going to have to lift her game against Ruby. Her in-ring has really dropped off lately and while she carries herself like a star she can't put in an effort like she did against Toni Storm and expect fans to care. Same story with Ruby who was out-performed by Statlander in the match and actually heads into the match as something of a heel. She's going to have to really lay it on the line here and execute if she wants to win the fans back.
MJF vs. Wardlow is proof positive that if you stick to the classics and don't try to go too crazy the fans will get behind it. For whatever reason, fans really enjoy watching the lackey take it to their over-bearing superior and AEW may have a star on their hands here with Wardlow. I think it will come down to this match and ensuring that Wardlow hits it out of the park and then the follow up. If it was my call, Wardlow would go through the Elite and possibly form some uneasy alliances along the way with guys like Hangman and Punk.
Curious to see what direction they go in with the Jericho Appreciation Society. This seems destined to give Kingston's group the win especially since the BCC got involved but then that doesn't leave a lot for the JAS to go and I don't think they're going to call time on that group just yet. For me this is the perfect match for somebody to make a surprise appearance, join the JAS that leads to a bigger match down the line. In all of this though, I don't think it's really benefitting Kingston any and the longer this goes the more it just seems to justify Jericho's presence on the show. I think Eddie needs to take control, push Regal to the side and get himself over. Like Punk, he's not getting any younger and he's one guy that appeals to every generation of fan. Use him appropriately and quickly.
Joe has to beat Adam Cole and continue to remind fans that they're watching a bonafide legend have one last run. I think AEW would be fools not to book a Joe/Punk match and pour everything into it and Adam Cole really has done himself no favours. Whether this should have been the tournament final for the Owen Cup is another story altogether, but it's still a big-time match and I hope they don't use this as an opportunity to rebuild Cole.
It's going to be a very tough show for the roster. Everyone is going to work their asses off no doubt about that, but they're going to have to be smart as well. Big picture high spots and knowing how to work the crowd is going to be key and the card is going to have to be laid out really well. Worst case, we're going to have a slog of a wrestling show that's going to be filled with action but our minds will be mushed about an hour into it.

I think it will be a night of turns or the crowd will force some turns.
If no one turns in the main event and Page wins the crowd is going to turn on him hard. Ruby will be horrible booed and Britt will be heavily cheered which is completely the fought of poor booking. Mox I believe will go heel after being force to pick a side between Kingston and Danielson. Setting up LAX 3.0 against BBC and allows Jericho to get his win back. Cole and Britt both winning could set something up between them and Sammy and Tay. A heel couple people love against a face? couple people hate. I feel Jungle Boy fails to make the save after Swerve Lee pins Ricky. So both Jungle Boy fails and it was Christian's match that screwed them. If Julie Hart doesn't turn tonight they need to 100% drop the story with her. It has gone on why too long and even big AEW fans no long care about it. I most curious about what happens if Wardlow loses because someone pointed out with MJF matches usually the worst outcome stipulation wise usually happens.

I think one of the things, I'm least looking forward to, is the women's finals of the Owen Hart tournament. Britt Baker would be the best choice to win, however, I don't necessarily think she needs it. I honestly think someone like Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander, or Toni Storm winning would have benefitted more from this if they made it to the finals and won it. At the very least, it would have helped build them up as a challenger to Jade's TBS championship.

I'm hit and miss. With a card this big you're not going to love everything on it but I feel like the build to the show was lacking in some areas. The main event doesn't feel as big as it should. I'm not sure why. Maybe that's because of what Big Pete said, that Hangman has stalled as champ. People loved the chase, people loved the win, people loved his first couple defenses (remember that he was the first person in AEW to beat Danielson? That feels like forever ago). But his reign isn't going to go anywhere from here unless something drastic happens tomorrow night and I can't see anything crazy happening if Hangman retains. Because of that, it feels like a foregone conclusion that CM Punk is going to win and anytime your main event has that feeling it just feels like going through the motions. Except when Hangman beat Omega because everyone wanted to see it. Do people want to see CM Punk win? Yeah, of course, but it isn't the same. MJF/Wardlow easily had the best build and I'm probably most excited for that match. I can't wait to see what happens. MJF has some tricks up his sleeve for sure. BCC & co. vs. JAS should be a fun clusterfuck so that'll be fun. I'm worried Thunder Rosa is going to drop the title already and I'm on the fence about it. I love her and don't want her to lose, but her title run has been awful and if they're just going to keep booking her that way then why bother have her hold the title? I'm wondering if that match will have a screwy finish and Deebs past will catch up with her. House of Black vs. Death Triangle should absolute slap so I'm also quite excited for that one. The build was stupid but they had to drag it out to get all six of these guys in the ring at the same time due to injuries, etc. If the match delivers, and it should, all should be forgiven. But the feud has to end tomorrow night. Same for Sammy/Tay/Kaz vs. ATT. I swear to god of Sammy pins Sky and gets another TNT title shot... Pretty exicted to see what Hookhausen and Smart Mark have in store as well. That should be a fun match to kick things off.

The women's side actually embodies what Owen Hart was all about in his prime. He was overshadowed by his superstar brother and always the afterthought/underdog. Ruby beating Britt in the finals is a perfect story imo. Ruby gets a title shot out of it, Statlander gets in her way, Statlander eventually dethrones Jade Cargill. Book it, Tony. The men's side is great due to the fact we've never had Adam Cole vs Samoa Joe before, and it doesn't matter who wins, it'll just be a great match. However if Tony's plan is to have Adam Cole and Britt Baker both win...ugh..

Honestly, Ruby Soho has just been disappointing in AEW, which sucks, as I enjoyed the Riott Squad in the WWE (but this isn't the forum for that). Honestly, they have quite a few women I enjoy watching, but for the most part, they haven't really done anything great with the division, at least not consistently anyway. Take Thunder Rosa, her title run has been disappointing, not even because of her, but because they've done absolutely fuck all with Rosa since she won the title.

And Okada their champion so yeah Punk probably winning.

Darby is upset Uncle Sting got hurt after they did an unprovoked attack while being down on members. Maybe they will learn to mind there business. Or at the very least Sting should avoid doing any with Jeff at all cost.

Imagine they swerved us super hard and no titles changed hands except for Anna Jay beating Jade. The baddies are sent to back in the beginning. The queen slayer is locked and a masked baddie causes a dq or distraction. Jade retains. They actually try to build this up. Anna claims she will be the face of TBS. That Bitch Slayer. Also renames her finisher. If this was built better I would have had Sonny Kiss join Dark Order then the Baddies. And you could have Sonny return to Dynamite on Wednesday you know the 1st of June and Pride month.

MJF no-showed his meet and greet at Fan Fest today. People are receiving refunds after waiting several hours. Lots of outrage on twitter right now over it.
Not much info coming out but apparently he skipped it to go to a casino. At least that's what people who were in attendance are saying.
If this is a work, it's fucking stupid and a good way to lose faith from fans. If it's MJF going into business for himself, it's going to be a long-ass two years until his contract is up. Unless he's starting to pull stunts to get Tony to release him.

Three options for this and they are all bad.
1. The company is aware and during it for the storyline. If MJF is suspending Wardlow can't get his match and if he doesn't beat MJF he can never sign with AEW.
2. A dig at WWE. The biggest story for the past two week is Sasha and Naomi no showing at the letting the people down. This could be the same thing and a way to say MJF could do it to you too.
3. MJF is really upset and just doesn't care. Since Tony most likely won't go they WWE route because he cares what the fans thinks about him.

There’s a lot of conflicting reports right now. There was also a report the Hardys no showed but it was the opposite: they were on time and stayed late to make sure everyone in line got an autograph.
People are starting to lean towards this being an issue with Fan Fest planning and not the wrestlers themselves.
SRS has heard the MJF-AEW situation is “not pleasant” and is trying to get more details.

If no showing is a work, it would be a genius way to amplify the heat for when he walks down the ramp.
Wardlow smashing him will be insane.
But, it's AEW. So...

They're not gonna piss off a bunch of fans and waste thousands of dollars on a work. Give this bum however much money it'll take to get him in the ring to job to Wardlow. Then have Tony come out on Dynamite and hit 'em with this.

AEW should approach WWE and swap Naomi and Sasha Banks for MJF 2 for 1 trade deadline deal. AEW gets some expiring contracts with a shot to resign them before they get to the open market, and WWE gets someone who is in need of a change of scenery(Well Banks could use one too maybe).
Not sure how you tell Jimmy Uso the news but give him some bottles of whiskey and some hush money and he will be a happy uce
