While there is no more E3 per say, tons of companies from Sony to Microsoft/Bethesda to "Summer GamesFest" are doing a showcase all month long to highlight & show the upcoming games that coming in 2022 and 2023 as well. Figure it makes sense to have one giant thread dedicated to this, here is the schedule for each of the confirmed conferences(I want to see if Nintendo does one).


THURSDAY 
JUNE 2ND 6PM EST/3PM PCT
Sony's State of Play conference(30 minutes, heavily rumored to revolve around PS VR 2, possible God of War: Ragnarok release date confirmation? 30 minute long which is pretty short IMHO)


THURSDAY
JUNE 9TH 2PM EST/11AM PCT
Summer GamesFest(Geoff Keighley of Gametrailers/Gaming Awards publicity has done a yearly thing of having a showcase of games happen every year, this is the essential E3 of old but done digitally and with various games that range all over from the place, from Indie to AAA)


JUNE 12TH 1PM EST/10AM PCT
Microsoft/Bethesda game conference(Probably been the best show the past couple of years, this is as close to a E3 conference as one will get. I expect a lot of third party to have marketing deals with MS for the hype alone but I am curious with both Redfall & Starfield pushed back into 2023, what tricks Microsoft has up their sleeves? Gotta be more than the next Forza Horizon/Motorsport) 


There's some other stuff too like Netflix gaming show that will talk about the upcoming game related shows on their subscription and I think a PC gaming showcase too, maybe KindaFunny does their Indie showcase yet again maybe. Not sure if SquareEnix, Ubisoft or EA are going to get involved here or latch onto Sony or Microsoft. 

Yeah, count me in, as someone whose hoping Nintendo has something. I love me some Nintendo showcases.

As a fan of the Pokemon franchise, I can't wait.

I'd imagine they'll show off the main gimmick of the game (aka Mega Evos, Z-Moves, Gigamax) and we'll get the front cover legendaries as well.

Last year I was all aboard the Tales of franchise, this year it's Pokemon so I'm amped.

Hope they keep gyms again, was not a fan of the battles of Sun/Moon. I liked Arceus but I don't want this game to take too much from Legends. 

Really hope we see at least one exclusive of each game, not sure which version to get honestly. Need some convincing. Maybe we see the region 3 evo bird if we're lucky?

Will Pokemon Scarlet & Violet sell well or is the Pokemon fatigue legit? Had Pokemon Sword/Shield 2 years ago, Diamond and Pearl remakes last year and Pokemon Legends Arceus in January. Add a Pokemon snap in between here and Lets Go Eevee/Pikachu I think 3 years ago and yeah. Wonder if the fatigue catches up or do the families/kids still buy these games? 

As someone who eat, sleep and breathed Pokemon GENS 1 and 2, I was on a hiatus for GEN 3,4,5 before coming back to it with X/Y and buying all the main Pokemon games Day 1 since. I got the Pearl remake recently, might jump into it for the Summer and not get fully burnt out with the series by November/December for this one. 

How we feeling about Sonic Frontiers @ness Big Pete Lony ? Think Sonic has a banger in 2022? Sonic Origins comes out in a few weeks which is a collection of the original Sega Genesis games but this is the next 3D adventure. 

That violet snake legendary looks pretty cool, might buy Violet! How we feeling?

There were a couple of new ones introduced.

Pawmi who is going to be the Pikachu of this gen as an electric
Lechonk who is going to be the Rattata of this gen as the Route 1 Normal buddy
Smoliv who is an odd Grass/Normal and maybe is the early grass pokemon

I think it was just a typical reveal for the series really. The first trailer is typically a brief glimpse into the region and the starters, the second is one new mechanic and box legendaries. Third is usually around the Team Rocket and the new gimmick of the game. So it was a typical reveal trailer from that perspective.

I'm curious to see how they work co-op into the game. I presume there's going to be an optional Wild Area segment that allows you to hunt down exclusive Pokemon but you need to work with friends/randos online. Either way, we need to get on that at some point.

Yeah, it's basically what I expected, not that that is necessarily a bad thing mind you. I've been reading some articles for this trailer, and a lot of rumors (re: speculation) about a potential past vs. future theme.

As far as what I would like out of the latest game, I hope they do more outside of battling gyms and capturing legendaries. One of my favourite aspects of the original was just the fun happenstance you come across like Bill transforming himself into a Pokemon which leads to the SS Anne. I'd like for more adventures like that, say coming across some explorer getting attacked by a bunch of Spearows, you save him and he invites you on this trip which allows you to catch a rare species.

Or you save the town from a Team Rocket attack which allows them to celebrate Carnivale which is the one time you can grab a bunch of rare items, challenge some trainers with rare Pokemon for dex entries and catch rare costume variants of Pokemon.

Essentially just make the world more vibrant with memorable characters and show-pieces with a lot of optional areas for trainers to explore and earn quality rewards whether they be good spawns, items, TMs etc.

Resident Evil 4 REMASTERED on March 24, 2023

Final Fantasy XVI in Summer 2023. And it has a Devil May Cry feel to it.

Street Fighter VI, Resident Evil 4 Remake(Which is gonna be dope, can't wait), and Final Fantasy XVI is a really good showcase. I heard Stray is free for PS Plus owners next month which is awesome.

Callisto Protocol is from the Dead Space creators without EA's limitations. Emperor RagnarokMike It comes out in December 2022. Stunned this made it to 2022.

There were a crap ton of spoilers from the characters(Some of the old characters look insane) to the moves to the styles that the game will be played as. Capcom got datamined up the wazoo. 

Street Fighter VI needs to be near perfect at launch after the disaster that was the launch of V, not quite Cyberpunk bad but it got close

Leak that has a rumor that Nintendo is doing a direct next Wednesday on 6/15, not sure what time but I really hope so. Nintendo needs to have something out this winter excluding Pokemon.

Sony leaked it's surprise for today's event, it's (another) The Last of Us 1, this time it's supposedly a Remake of the original. PS5 exclusive, will go to PC in the future. Keep in the mind the game is only like 9-10 years old and already had a PS4 remaster and yet Sony is charging $70 Day 1 for this. Has accessibility, has better graphics and supposedly The Last of Us II gameplay but this is a hard sell for me to bite in as someone who has played the 1st one twice, including in the past 2 years.

Capcom also has an event coming this Monday at 6PM EST, they will show more Street Fighter VI and more Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Summer Games Fest is on now....

They are getting Street Fighter VI out of the way due to the leaks.

Guile of course is introduced because why not?

Oh Damn Callisto Protocol just showed some epic gore shit, showed a game over/fatality with the protagonist getting half of his head chewed off :lol:. 

There's a lot of survival games in space..........wow. Calisto Protocol, some Aliens game, and now Fort Solis. Survival in space yeah.

(I tuned out over the 10 minute showcase of Modern Warfare II but it is there if you want it)

Add Routine to this..................man if you really want to feel scared in outer space, 2022 is FOR YOU.

Soul Hackers 2 looks awesome, still need to play the 1st.

This is a huge conference coming up next half hour for Microsoft, they really need to showcase what is coming up in the next 6-9 momths on the horizon. There's gotta be more than just Game Pass and Forza Motorsport. I am really excited for this one, I think Phil Spencer has nailed the formula the past 2-3 years. cig has a lot to be proud of with how much Microsoft has rebounded after the early disaster of the XBOX ONE.

Redfall looks awesome, loving this gameplay.

Hollow Knight: Silksong coming to XBOX much less coming to Game Pass is big time. 

Plague's Tale: Requiem is still coming out in 2022, wish there was a date. Recently played the first, can't wait for the second one. 

Persona 3 PSP/4 Golden/5 Royal coming to Game Pass is awesome, easy recommendations to play them.

Phil Spencer went for the juggular, got Kojima to do a game for XBOX.
