Each week we all play an arcade game with the aim to get the highest score, screenshot/photo as evidence will suffice (working on honour system, don’t be a Billy Mitchell)

The debut game is Helicopter Challenge:

Poster with highest score will be the week’s PW Arcade Champion and get to select the new game for the week. If they don’t choose within 24 hours, I will choose the game.

To start off, this will run until the Friday 1st July edition of Smackdown airs (NOT THIS WEEK’S EPISODE, NEXT WEEK) then after that on a weekly basis. I may make tweaks to the time depending on interest but weekly for now.

Game doesn’t have to be browser based game just an accessible game to start off with.

Rules

1. Game must have a high score/scoring system
2. Game must be free
2. Multiple attempts are allowed, please number them.
3. Your submission must be in before Smackdown airs each week, debut you have until 1st July.
4. No games that allow ads to save you from losing your score
(EG Subway Surfers)

RT must have been feeling the effects of that father's day roast I swear, my goodness. That or he has some serious Angry Birds experience.

Got 1013 after a day of work and on like my 4th or 5th try! :sc: Hitboxes are hella-tight, thought I skinned the cat but alas.

When you hit 1000 it gets really hard. I was definitely lucky towards the end. I think I can beat 1500 though.

It gets super friggin narrow, you have to guess by 900 where your going and just do a tap of a click to skin it.

Holy shit this is frustrating. 779 after a half an hour. Especially hate those walls in the middle and the lower ones w/the sheer cliffs.

Excellent idea for a thread btw.

One of those games that FEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS like you're doing really good... but then you look down and die and realize you've gained like 100 pts. FUCK.

I used to play this game on the PW Arcade in like, 2003 without any problem.

Now here I am in 2022 and it sends my laptop into a state of absolute despair. Thanks, technology!

I’ve just being using my phone if that is an option for you

I find it way harder on my phone than on my computer. Can't even break 1000.

I feel my skill levei increasing. I feel my mouse finger becoming one with the helicopter. Watch as I weave my way through the blocks like a Top Gun fighter pilot.

Gotta say you need some luck. A few times I got to the 1300 mark and hit a literally impossible blocker. Managed to screengrab one of them. Check out this buillshit. I crashed at the top but even the bottom is borderline impossible.



However, one one of my later attempts I found that luck: got a really nice run after the 1,000 mark, the gaps were large, even the one I died on was pretty manageable.



I invoked my rematch clause and defeated that filthy MITB cash-in scoundrel to regain the championship.

THE GOD Emperor OF MANKIND HAS RECLAIMED HIS THRONE AS PW ARCADE CHAMPION!!

This is where it's good to only have access to older systems the way Emperor is setup with just that PS2. Us modern console casuals aren't used to the simplistic controls of a game like this. This is just another Friday for Emperor on the other hand.

System's phone technique worked - I can finally play Copter in 2022!

Unfortunately I stink at it and can't get past the 700s 😭
