I think CM Punk was going to be out rehabbing his foot past All Out but was healthy enough to return and drop the title. Rather than risk further injury by having him do a full match in Chicago, they tease Punk turning heel, have him get squashed, and now when he comes back it's "no more mister nice guy" and he starts tearing through the locker room.

I think he'll show up at All Out and cut a promo teasing his retirement and instead turn heel, or do the whole "I have a lot to think about," then disappear for a while and when he returns he does it then.

That match was so good. Glad they booked the show the way they did. You couldn't have the squash go on last after a match like that. Deserved main event.

Oh and Ospreay vs PAC at Wrestle Kingdom - IWGP US title vs AEW All-Atlantic title. DO IT.

well unless 3, 4 and 10 first match. They manage to fluke out a victory probably on Buddy. Then 10 gets hit with the black mist and can't compete in the next match. Next match with the best friends Uno takes his place and Danhausen curse actually works causing some odd injury. Trustbusters interfere and Dark Order wins again. Silver and Reynolds have two members down and only one man can help them now it Colt I mean Hangman Adam Page.

All I can guess is Punk isn’t 100% and he’s doing some short term business now to build to a heel turn when he returns when his foot is all healed. That glance back towards the crowd where Mox was celebrating could be telling. No idea where AEW goes for All Out in terms of the title picture.

Punk set up the quick loss in his SI interview earlier in the day. It is a total work. Really think he did not want to go into Chicago as the heel.

Also now Punk and Hangman are free, and kind of beat up, for All Out.

He alluded to his UFC fight in that SI interview too c. Think he lasted longer in those fights. 😂

Can't wait to see Cornette get angry over the Punk/Moxley decision. Moxley not only beat CM Punk but squashed him! On Vince Mcmahon's birthday!

According to Meltzer the plan is to still have CM Punk vs Jon Moxley at All Out.

I have no idea how they make that work but that’s what he’s been told.

Title vs career is how you make that work.  Set it up Weds with Punk demanding one more match, and Regal and Mox granting it but under the condition that if he wins, Punk just leaves, and for good this time, because he is nothing but a broken down, washed up, old man, clinging to his glory days.  Have Regal tell him that you have to know when you just need to hang it up and shit.

Punk then goes into Chicago as the biggest fucking babyface.  

I’m all for the Regal and Punk promo exchanges. I’m so ready for a Punk heel turn though. Hopefully he goes dirty in Chicago, sells his soul then shows us true CM Punk, the arrogant jerk and has a half decent reign before dropping it to a returning face MJF then working with young baby faces next year into the summer.

Punk still eating up the crowds and does not want to turn. He likes being the good guy and getting the attention from the crowd.

Also I am not entirely sold he has it in him to be the Punk that people want again. The one that would have fans rushing the ring and raining trash into the ring.

Presale for Dynamite in Toronto sold out instantly. I tried to get tickets and it was sold out before the page even loaded for me. I’m still salty about them having it in a small arena even if I get why they’re doing it.

Loved the Jericho/Garcia segment. Fantastic heel work from Jericho and Garcia with an equally great babyface response. His acting was top notch, a young man in real mental conflict. The Danielson/Jericho promo was not as strong but still good.

I said I wanted CM Punk to win, but I can't complain about how that went down. It was unpredictable, different, shocking, yet logical. Bravo, AEW.

These trios matches aren't going to be my cup of tea, too many dumb high spots where guys take 30 seconds to set up their fancy dives while their opponents stand around like goofs. While the main event had some of that, there was also plenty of decent action. Didn't get the random Kip Sabian appearance. It was fine. To be honest I doubt I would have watched that match if Ospreay weren't involved.

PAC has to be the most criminally underutilised guy in AEW. He's the All Atlantic Champion and it's like... so what? Death Triangle has been the death of PAC. Now he's in a feud with Kip fucking Sabian apparently.

Solid promo, would have been perfect without that out-of-kayfabe stuff talking about how memorable their matches are. But that's what Kenny and Ospreay do. The shoes line was great.

Death Triangle vs. United Empire was a hell of a match, absolutely great stuff from both teams.

Trios matches are made so much fucking better with lucha rules.  Lucha rules are if you roll out of the ring or are tossed out of the ring that is a rope break.  So generally dives spots see someone coming into the ring right after, rather than everyone stands around on the floor after, and see people dive out to bring a new man in.

Michael Buble has a concert at Scotiabank the same night. The Leafs are playing but they are in Montreal.

Scotiabank Arena is booked almost every night for the rest of the year. It basically came down to using the smaller arena owned by MLSE to build a relationship with them and squeeze in a Toronto show this year, or wait until sometime next year. Guess Tony didn’t want to wait.

Some people said they should have done Copps Coliseum but I’m almost certain they want to use an MLSE venue for their first show and that’s why they didn’t do it.

I completely understand the reasons why they chose the venue they did but I really think they should have put a little more thought into it. Two of your biggest stars are from Winnipeg. Why not do MTS Centre for your first show? Or throw a dump truck of money at Bret Hart and do Calgary with FTR headlining?

I just hope we get a few more Canadian dates in 2023 or I’m going to be severely disappointed.
