We did it boys! Just a couple of days left now until FOOTBALL Thursday KickoffBills @ Rams Sunday EarlySaints @ Falcons Browns @ Panthers 49ers @ Bears Steelers @ Bengals Eagles @ Lions Colts @ Texans Patriots @ Dolphins Ravens @ Jets Jaguars @ Commanders Sunday LateGiants @ Titans Chiefs @ Cardinals Raiders @ Chargers Packers @ Vikings Sunday NightBucs @ Cowboys Monday NightBroncos @ Seahawks Obviously the marquee matchup is the kickoff game between the defending champions, and the favourites to win the Super Bowl this season. But there are also a couple of tasty looking revenge games - Baker Mayfield looking to fuck up the Browns, Russell Wilson's instant return to Seattle on MNF, and (possibly, although there's apparently a chance Zach Wilson will be ok to play after all?) Joe Flacco against the Ravens for the first time. It's a new season so don't forget to join the Pick'em league (id #30849, pw: pickem) and the Survival pool!

I’m just pumped to see the new looks of a lot of these teams. So many star players offensively and defensively changed teams this season and I’m pumped for a lot of these match ups.
I’m obviously pumped for TNF, but I can’t wait to see the Eagles and Lions square off. I think both offenses have such high potential and I wouldn’t be surprised if Jared Goff improved a lot coming into this season.
The games I’m honestly most excited for though are the late afternoon games. Chiefs and Cardinals should be a fun shoot out but Raiders vs Chargers starting the season off after the dramatics of their last match up to wrap up last years regular season. I want to see how pissed the Chargers come out and how the new look RAIDAHZ look.

Feel like the Cardinals are a good toe in the water opening week team. We really need to come out strong against Arizona, Chargers and Indy before we hit a stretch of five playoff teams from last year (Bucs, Raiders, Bills, 9ers, Titans). I think the team is going to be fine, but the schedule is HAIRY, especially if the talented teams in the West are able to stay healthy and put it together.

Up until right now I thought Buffalo played Sunday and I was going to miss the game because I'm going to a wedding out of town this weekend.
In past years Allen has started slow, although I don't think he did last year. I'm too lazy to go look at scores. Anyway, no slow starts this year. Got the CHAMPS the first week. Let's gooooo
Also curious to see what the offence looks like now without Daboll. I don't expect any major changes but if the play-calling becomes idiotic I'm going to worry. Daboll made some questionable calls himself but generally was a great offensive mind. Hoping that continues and we don't see a downtrend in Buffalo's offence.

The last 2 seasons have been brutal and just about made me a lapsed NFl fan, losing touch with the league and losing interest. But I do like this all new Texans team and will be along for the ride to see how they grow from this season. 20 years later and this team is starting all over again almost like a repeat of the expansion team. It really is like a brand new team now. I always did like Lovie Smith I thought he would have been a good hire back after they fired Kubiak of all the names available, I was scratching my head with the O'Brian hire after seeing his credentials never understood what they seen in the guy. Lovie coached high school ball here where I live so it's very cool to see him coaching my team, also seems like they have more players actually from Texas on the roster than usual this year, very Texas vibes. 1-16 is ok just beat Dallas

I stumbled upon an episode of Quantum Leap, probably one of the most forwardly thinking progressive shows ever made, has tackled homophobia, racism, sexism way ahead of it's time. About a month or so ago that I found this episode that I had never seen before, it was from the second season so 1990. In the episode it's about a native american guy and his older grampa on the run from the law. The grandpa character is a huge Redskins fan always trying to listen to the games on the radio throughout the episode, he says they are the best team in America and he loves it when they beat the Cowboys. At the end of the episode the grandpa is dying in the sons' arms and his dying words are "Go Redskins, the best damn team in America" I felt like I was being trolled by a time traveler from 1990.

I seen your Jets got Duane Brown, to me he was a top 5 Texan of the whole first 20 years, so fucking underrated hope he makes a big comeback for yall they never should have pissed him off and let him go, seems like the start of the downfall of the whole team.

Also, Quantum Leap was a kickass and underrated show, one of my all-time favorites growing up as a kid.

Looking forward to this season more than the last, with the Watson stuff in the rear-view mirror and finally some good, high draft picks to see develop. I think it's almost a no-lose season for the Texans this year. Winning six or seven games will probably need Mills to take a decent step forward. Winning fewer than five games again will mean drafting a quarterback in a good class next year, with one high draft pick guaranteed (and possibly two if it all goes sideways for the Browns). It kind of takes the pressure off the season, although losing every week will quickly make life as a Texans fan miserable, so I'd prefer they actually won games.
This feels like the most interesting week one since I became an NFL fan. So much quarterback movement, the revenge games, and so much variance in what we can expect from certain teams. The AFC in particular has the potential for some absolutely bonkers offenses.
I'll take the Bills to win and even cover the spread in this game. It's a tough game to pick, but they have more continuity, and Allen and the offense is equipped well to deal with the pressure that will come down the middle of the offensive line.

Speaking of, Duane Brown is resting a shoulder injury. Heard so much about him being durable this and that, would say otherwise if he isn't ready to go by the start of the Ravens game. Guess father time caught up to him afterall. Would be scared shitless if Connor McDermott or a rookie like Max Mitchell have to come in and play at RT. At that point, I would just not bother throwing Zach Wilson out there to get destroyed.

I got money on a Jamison Crowder TD and Jamison Crowder first TD scorer. I think they use Crowder inside the 10 in the red zone and the Rams slot corner ain’t shit. Go Jets right Blindy? Fly Flacco Fly. Final score prediction: Rams 30 Bills 27 OVERTIME!

I wish they would have some guts. The Redskins don't exist anymore. They are the Commanders and should have a totally different look. Not the same bland look.

And Troy Hill sucked in Cleveland but he was one of the league's better slot corners prior to that in his first run with the Rams -

And Troy Hill sucked in Cleveland but he was one of the league's better slot corners prior to that in his first run with the Rams - Not sure about that comparison, Crowder was solid his 1st 2 years but not sure if the injuries he took wiped him out but he could not even take advantage of a dire WR situation last year. I think he's a WR5, maybe WR4 at this point. Expecting anything more seems foolish. And I liked Crowder in NYJ for the 3 years we had him!

I missed it for sure.
I actually think the Jets could have a really good defense this year but have serious questions about Wilson so I have them pegged at around 7 wins.

Your being really nice, especially in this AFC. I see 5 maybe. Especially if Sleepy Joe from Delaware has to play multiple times. I've seen enough of this man for the past 2 seasons to know this act. Maybe Jets go 4-0 vs NFC North this year though :suspic:
