Foxtel Group-WWE Partnership Key Points:

BINGE will become the new streaming home of WWE Network in Australia from January 2023 with all WWE Premium Live Events, including Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39, and entertainment content available with a BINGE subscription, starting from just $10 per month.

WWE Network’s original programming and vast collection of archived content will be available on BINGE.

WWE will continue to be available to all Foxtel subscribers on both the FOX8 channel and on a new, dedicated 24/7 WWE channel to launch from December 2022.

The Foxtel Group will broadcast on both these channels all of WWE’s Premium Live Events, previously only available through pay-per-view, at no additional charge to subscribers, plus Weekly Live Episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT.
Selected content will continue to be available via Kayo Sports.

If it's anything like the NRL channel, they'll replay the Bump 10 times a day and all the shows will be in 30-minute heavily edited chunks.

If they let Paul Murray and Dan Ginnane host the channel I don't think I'll ever tune in.

They already have a tonne of WWE content, if you do a search on Foxtel IQ - I'd assume the idea is to organise this, and drop in shows like The Bump, Stone Cold Pod-Cast, etc.

But, FTW - PLE free on Foxtel is a great thing. I'd almost ditch my subscription to the Network, as I only really use it once a month for PLE and the occasional Doco.

Tell that to the program directors at Foxtel - their scheduling is awful.

Still, it'll be nice for the PLEs.

Real ones remember when we were blacked out from WWE TV and you had to go to the movie theatre to watch PPVs.

Awful, and just as Optus subscribers just got Fox 8 so we could finally watch this SmackDown Six era the internet was going crazy over. We still had RAW (for some reason) but it definitely felt like we were getting short-changed on the brand extension.

Did anyone go to the theatres to watch the PPVs? Was it packed?

I remember the " the WWE season is over " message that played and all WWE programming was dropped in 2002.

They then gave us NWATNA as an alternative.

Essentially saying "No, Billy.. we have WWE at home"

I never did, but I knew someone who did go.. and he said, people bought signs.

Definitely dropping the network/binge if the channel holds up but sounds too good to be true.

Live events work fine but whenever I try to watch old content it buffers/freezes like crazy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Foxtel's dedicated WWE channel has launched today.

Weekly televised shows will air on both the WWE Channel and Fox8. PLE will also air on both channels as a bonus.

I ummed and arrghed about keeping the Network subscription (word is, WWE will move over to Binge similarly to Peacock) but decided to cancel it, we're paying $16 now monthly for the WWE Network and realistically I'm only watching the PLE on it, which is borderline a old PPV rates.

The WWE Channel looks like a very streamlined version of the Network - don't expect to watch WWF Raw is War from 1999 or Deep South. It's a lot of the Chronicle, 24, Miz & Mrs, MNW, etc.

Messaged my boss about getting the channel at work and he’s looking into it.

He looked into showing the PPVs previously but it costs the club $1k or more to show them in public, now they are PLEs and it’s just a dedicated channel with no extra fee should be fine to show said events.

I think it's just part of the basic subscription. An extension of Fox8.

Yeah I’m not sure how it works with the subscriptions with clubs, only channels I’ve seen on the TVs are the fox sports channels.

I'm really enjoying having it on Foxtel. With the WWE Network, I'd end up watching the same shit over and over again. Usually the same old Attitude Era RAWs/SDs episodes. So having some forced variety is great.

Yeah, I wasn't across this at all and just discovered I have the WWE network and around the same time discovered Smackdown is REALLY bad at the moment.

There is no major stars on Smackdown. Drew is perhaps the top guy, but he's been done to death the last few years. And Ronda is likely the top chick - She's awful most of the time. The show is carried by of all people, Sami Zayn.

And Roman doesn't count, he doesn't work.
