The first trailer for the Super Mario Bros. Movie just came out within the hour.  Here it is.




What do you think?  And what do you think of Chris Pratt's attempt at voicing Mario?

Looks serviceable. For some reason when I heard Pratt was involved I assumed it was live action...

It Looks pretty good, even if Chris Pratt sounds like himself and not so much Mario (if that makes sense). Either way, seeing Luigi was awesome AF, I always did prefer him over Mario.

Yeah the Mario voice is a massive letdown, I would rather they had tried to be realistic even if corny. It's a massive appeal to the character, feels like a miss.

Everyone outside of that feels like it can be good though.

It looks better than I expected! I was kinda fearing a fart joke or dabbing or something, so hopefully they resist for the movie!

I'll reserve full judgment on Chris Pratt's Mario voice, until I see one, or two more trailers for the movie.

I really am looking forward to this.

I’m obviously going to watch it because it’s a kids movie and I want my kid to enjoy it but my God Pratt as Mario sucks. I feel like I’m watching a Japanese movie with someone talking over the real voice of the character so it fits my American ears. Really terrible. Like fuck them for that.

It’s literally like zero effort on the accent.

Fuck them and I hate to say this buttttt fuck you Chris Pratt.

I'm still not sold on Chris Pratt, but everything else that I've seen, I've liked quite a bit.

Just got back from it, it’s good not great.

Definitely had the hard task of adapting the game’s nonsensical bare bones plot into a film and making something that both older fans and children will enjoy.

Some really cool Easter eggs & soundtrack stuff. Voice acting wasn’t great Jack Black aside, especially when Charles Martinet has a voice cameo in the film.

There’s also a character that would fit right in with the nihilists from
The Big Lebowski that felt super out of place in a kids film.

In the Mario bros movie I wouldn’t have believed you. Wtf

Really cool visuals, plot wasn’t much at all but I can imagine families with children will like most of this film. Just wait for streaming if you don’t want to endure screaming children at the cinema

Who was the most obscure Mario character you saw in the background? Did they administer the Mario Mandate where they could only have generic Toads, or were you Rick Daltoning?

Will only see this movie if they have this music somewhere in the movie.
