Gauthier finally found the finishing touch to some of his great setup play - he would be such an asset if he can keep that up. 

Another grind it out win tonight, they should really be handling bad teams like Arizona better than that, but a couple of tough wins to arrest the losing streak is a good answer. Really need the defence to clean up their play though, so many dangerous giveaways around the netfront.

Best game they’ve played all season and that includes the game against Winnipeg.

Rangers are doing a terrible job closing out games this season. They've had a number of third period fade outs and now have consecutive losses after leading by two goals. Their advanced stats look good but there's definitely some sort of intensity issue, and they don't have Shesterkin playing out of his mind to bail them out.

That's more like it, NYR answered the bell tonight and blew the Red Wings out in the third period with six goals. Gallant has got to keep the kid line together now surely.

True.  But every win means we're closer to the point where it really matters.

-Leafs dominate the Penguins in the first and go up 2-0
-Leafs score 11 seconds into the 2nd and go up 3-0
-Matthews barely misses a chance to put them up 4-0
-Zucker goes the other way and scores to make it 3-1
-Less than a minute later Sandin whiffs on a pass and it goes to SIDNEY FUCKING CROSBY 3-2
-Another minute later Penguins are on the power play.

Yeah I think something is fundamentally broken amongst this Rangers team and I’m starting to doubt whether they are going to be able to fix it. Lindgren gets injured and they give up 4 unanswered goals in the final period to lose 4-3 to Edmonton. Another in the growing list of terrible losses.

Rangers played with a lot of heart in the third period, Toronto had the puck virtually the entire time but a gritty defensive performance led to a fifth straight game not allowing a goal in the final period. 

Main differences lately seem to be Miller really raising his game to cover Trouba who continues to struggle, and the kid line producing with a bit more ice time.

Yep was a good game. Rangers were great defensively. I thought Toronto would get one in the 3rd the way they were playing but it just wasn’t their night.

Nothing to be mad about, they did everything right. Sometimes you just don’t get the bounces and Jimmy Vesey decides to be Steve Stamkos for a night.

Shesterkin stole another game. Leafs had a couple of grade A chances. Would have been a different outcome if not for him.
