Wow. Although it was a matter of time, I think this is a great signing for WWE. With Brock Lesnar likely leaving this year and John Cena going Hollywood, WWE is in dire need of another mega attraction, and with Ronda Rousey, they have exactly that. And with an already incredibly talent women's roster, this signing is a very positive thing for them. 

Well this would get me to tune back into the WWE and even the women's division. I planned on coming back to the company for the Rumble anyways - now I'm definitely in.

I heard there were three stipulations that Ronda installed in signing with WWE.

1. She wins the 1st Women's Royal Rumble

2. Shayna Baszler wins the NXT Women's Championship at her 1st TakeOver.

Well at least now, next time there's a draft there won't be any issue with Shin drafting Rousey.

I'm not big on the celebrity shit they do as well... though admittedly there have been a few occasions where I didn't mind it (Stephen Amell, Floyd Mayweather). At this point, I'm going with the wait and see approach, though I'm expecting Ronda Rousey to win the female Royal Rumble match.

This is a good point, at one time Kurt Angle was a celebrity athlete, no different than Ronda coming into the WWE.

Honestly giving Rousey's background, I'm willing to give her a chance... admittedly if she is just here until Mania and gone afterwards, it'll suck if she wins the first female Royal Rumble match, on the other hand though, if she is sticking around long term, I definitely get why they would want to give it to her/

Hell, she's been involved in combat sports longer than a lot of the women in the Rumble have been wrestling. I don't understand how she's not allowed to pursue this new avenue in her career according to whatever your guidelines are.

Ronda has most likely spent more hours rolling on mats than the entire women's division combined. Didn't Charlotte randomly decide to become a wrestler
at 26 because she had nothing else going on and then got hot shotted in NXT because of her last name? Oh, the dues one must pay to become a WWE Women's Champion. Ronda already had a Bronze medal and Stikeforce Championship before Charlotte even made strides to become a wrestler. Hell, Ronda probably has wrestled more hours than most of the men's division too.

Ronda is only here because she took a huge loss and it seemed to have killed her ego/confidence.

And now she will be handed the Rumble on a platter...and the roster will be fed to her.

I get where Mistress is coming from.

I'm not sure you can book Rousey the same way as Lesnar, at least not without making the women's division look bad in the process. The fact is you can get away with it, when there are 20-30 men on the roster, without ruining a division, can't really say the same, when it's 6-7 people in the women's division.

I get it, Mistress is a fan of women's wrestling (same with me), and people should be concerned about what this means for Asuka and Alexa, or Charlotte and Becky, depending on what show she ends up on. Like I said, I'm giving it a chance, I want and hope this to work, I just don't want it to come at the expense of a whole division.

It’s not like the women have been booked well lately anyways.

I’m excited for Ronda. I like when WWE breaks from the norm and takes a chance on something different. The fact she’s a WWE fan and self admitted nerd is another plus for me. She can do great things with the current crop of women.

You'd never change your career path if it was always good or not a challenge.  That's the argument that I don't understand...why are you against her changing her career?  If anything it's publicity grab for the WWE more than it would be for her.

You’re right, they haven’t. Alexa makes the best of the crap material they give her because she’s special. They’ve made Asuka into any other woman on the roster; booking her in 50/50 matches every week. Wasn’t until recently that they have pushed her a little more heavily.

And besides that, no one else sticks out. They’ve killed Sasha and Bayley and the Smackdown women have been booked like shit.

What back burner? The majority of the women on RAW have already been champion. Any woman interacting with Ronda will get an immediate boost because Ronda is a big star that will raise stock. You keep saying another celeb signing...like who? What other celebrities have they signed to deals? And what is Ronda famous for? Legitimately wrecking people and attempting to rip their arms off. Yep. Ronda is more famous than everybody on the WWE roster, and she attained that fame as a legit fighter. This isn't David Arquette, or some shit like that.
