I don't think people think about it that hard. "Hey she has two titles what are they?" *Excalibur says they are a women's and tag team titles from Japan* "oh neat maybe I'll look those up." If people watching AEW aren't used to seeing belts from other companies by now then I dunno what to tell ya. Still needs a little moderation since it devalue titles some there were 16 wrestlers in matches on the show with 15 different titles on the show.

Speaking of belts, I get everyone loves FTR now but I have no idea why they hold three different tag team belts, all non-AEW. In particular the NJPW belts which they won in AEW and haven't been to Japan since (or at all for that matter). What's the point? Cobb and O-Khan are right there.

I have a feeling The Acclaimed got WAY more over than anyone could have expected and so they fastforwarded their title win to strike while the iron is hot, and stuck FTR to the wayside since they can survive outside the title picture (as proven by their massive ovations every time they show up on TV). As for the NJPW belts, I dunno. I expect they'll drop them at Wrestle Kingdom.

It's a little ridiculous, especially when you factor in Interim Champions and the current Nyla Rose storyline.
Clearly Tony Khan is a huge fan of titles and the stucture they bring to a show. It's easier to protect talent when they have a championship to protect and it makes it easier to split the card that way. It also saves him from the burden of finding new champions as they can always book a switch and make that the feel-good moment of the show.
Personally I'm not a fan of it either but that's the way they roll and there's plenty of ways to book a promotion.
