Horrible news. Shows just how precious life is. I love all the comments talking about him as a person, a father, a husband because he was those things above all else. I really hope the girls will be ok. That's every parents' nightmare and their mom already lost her husband. Just a tragedy all the way around.

The Briscoes are as far as I can tell the only stars outside of the WWE that I follow. My brother and I have just loved these guys for years. I have felt like Jay has had one of the best promos for a long time now. Those farm promos where it looks like they’re too busy with their real job to cut a studio promo were crazy good. JR wanted them in WWE badly and scouted them for years.  When they finally got a tryout, someone high up shot them down last second claiming they had no marketable look.  They were in talks later to join NXT, but they turned it down since indy guys were not being well received.  

I'll always love DEM BOYS. Loved Jay as a singles. Began following in 2007 and they were a BIG reason for that. This sucks.

One of the girls has serious injuries but is stable her mom said. No updates on Gracie though. Last info was she could not move her legs and was undergoing emergency back surgery.

Awful news. Not an independents guy, but Jay Briscoe and the team he wrestled in presented themselves in a way that I like to see when I watch wrestling. Authentic, old school, and convincing. Rest in peace.

The Briscoes opened my eyes to independent wrestling. Jay & Mark are beloved because they are true to themselves. That's why they've resonated with so many people.

Jay Briscoe was a generational talent, both as a tag wrestler and a singles main event babyface. It really can't be overstated how much of an effect the Briscoes as a tag team had on tag team wrestling in the independents. He will sorely be missed. My heart goes out to his family, I can't imagine what they're going through.

RIP to the 27 year old woman Lillyanne Ternahan as well who was killed as well, her car veered onto the other lane and hit Briscoe and his two daughters straight on. Seems like she did work towards fighting crimination of Marijuana in the state of Delaware and did various rallies and even got into the attorney field(?) to combat this. 27 is even younger to lose your life. Just terrible all around.

I hope the rumors of her texting while driving or being impaired aren't true, I just hope both daughters can recover physically and mentally. The fact that one of the kids hadn't regained their ability to walk really gets to me.

So far they do not know the reason she drifted into the other lane, but the main reason this happens is texting while driving.

As for Gracie, Ashley not posted any updates, so no one know anything until that happens.

Likely Tony is covering the medical bills. If he does not, wrestlers themselves will get things covered.

Easy to forget Jay was a star in 2001 and one of the people RoH was founded to showcase. Like RF was so excited by Best of the Best he wanted to create a fed to showcase that style of wrestling.  Jay then worked with like everyone as they were coming up from Punk, to Seth, to Joe, to AJ and countless others.

Delaware House of Representatives has a moment of silence for Jay this morning o.O

Also Jay was second couch for the high school football team, and a youth basketball couch.

Gracie, 12, broke her L3 and L5 vertebrae. She has no movement below her knees right now.

Jayleigh, 9 or 10 I think, got FUCKED up. c7 break in the neck, both her tibia and fibia in one leg, has lower spinal damage, perforated her bowel and broke a rib. She had surgery for the leg and they plan to put her in a spinal, neck brace.

Yeah seatbelt or no, Jay was not likely to survive this.

Fans coming in hard now putting that fundraiser to 167k. 1520 people gave to them so far.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. At least they are alive, but those medical bills...I can only imagine. Those poor girls. That poor family.

Tony may be covering the medical if they do not have insurance.  If not, it is a large family and tight knit community.  They will get a lot of help.

Cornette always talks very high of the Briscos so not that surprising.

Latest news is Gracie got feeling back in her legs and movement.

From what I been seeing, it looks like Mark is still banned from AEW. Which is really interesting as all of the complaints were about shit Jay said.

Bucks had Jay take sensitivity training to debut at All Out 2022 but network said it still was not good enough for them last minute.

Melz confirmed it. Mark not allowed in AEW. What in the actual fuck.

Updates from Mark:

Gracie can move her knees, but not her feet right now.  Her pain is getting a lot better and she has feeling below her knees.

Jayleigh got most her stuff out of her now, can eat what she wants, and only has braces on her knee and neck to deal with.  She is in a wheelchair too for now.  

The girls are working with physical and art therapists.  

Mark is in a good mood believing that this is merely God's will.  He plans to carry on the legacy of his brother.  Marks was far more religious than Jay and says that he plans to use this to help people see God's light and to use it to help more people join Jay in heaven.

The person relying messages said the family reported AEW has been very supportive.  

The guy who did the Jay fundraiser is also fundraising for the family of the woman who killed Jay.

Great job by Tony to get this one going. Going to be full of emotions.

Yeah really glad Tony got this fixed. I hope Mark stays too. He is like the perfect guy for a fed like AEW, since he really does not want to be on the road all the time.

NJPW paid tribute to Jay Briscoe on their Jan 21 Wrestle Kingdom in Yokohama show.

The main card opened with a tribute to the late Jay Briscoe, who held gold in both New Japan and NOAH with his brother Mark.

The NOAH and NJPW rosters walked to the ring, with Naomichi Marufuji and Hiroshi Tanahashi holding portraits of Jay.

The ring announcer talked about Jay's history in both companies, followed by a 10 bell salute, and they closed with the Briscoes' entrance theme.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jay Briscoe at the age of 38.

Along with brother Mark, Jay was a founding member of the Ring of Honor roster and the cornerstone of their tag team division. The Briscoes would earn 13 ROH Tag Team Championships, most recently in December of 2022 across a career that redefined tag team wrestling. In singles competition, Jay was also a two time ROH World Champion.

The Briscoes made their Japanese debuts in January 2002 for Big Japan Pro-Wrestling, and would win GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team gold in Pro-Wrestling NOAH before debuting in NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 10 on January 4 2016. There, alongside Mark and Toru Yano, Jay became one third of the inaugural NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champions.

On June 19 2016, the Briscoes defeated the Guerrillas of Destiny to win the IWGP Tag Team Championships, and continued to be active in NJPW rings as part of the Honor Rising events in 2017 and 2019, before being part of a four way double tag title match at G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden in April 2019.

The thoughts and deepest sympathies of everyone at NJPW go to Jay’s family, friends and fans.

Sounds like Tony finally got some balls. Normally it seems everyone can walk all over Tony but he went to bat for Mark this week and demanded Warner drop the ban on the Briscoes to get Mark his match and to air the tribute to Jay.

Saw a quick video of Mark. He says he will continue going forward to carry Jay's legacy with him. Says he is not sad because Jay is with Christ now and he will see him again one day.

Was cool to see the tribute Noah and NJPW did for them. They were not really big in Japan all things considered, so it is telling they did all this for foreign guys who just kind of passed through from time to time. Then again, a lot of Japanese guys on excursions worked the Briscoes over the last 20 years.

So the AEW ban reasons were not so much the homophobic stuff, but that the Briscoes wore the confederate flag on their gear and carried it to the ring. Seems like AEW execs believed they still were doing it, and did not realize they gave it up years ago. Somehow they believed if they let them on TV, they would appear with the flag.

If that's the case and Warner can ban shit from being on their network, wouldn't the simple solution be, telling them not to wear anything with a confederate flag on it?

It is a live show which may be why. But yeah, seems like a simply solution here would be just no flag. The whole thing is a mess and feels like one person had a vendetta and made it personal.

I heard about the Confederate flag thing and so I kept an eye out in all the highlight videos. You don't see it anywhere. I'm starting to think that was more the reason and part of Tony getting Mark on TV was promising he wouldn't show any of that stuff.

I assume that is why no Bucks vs Briscoes, or Briscoes vs Generico and Steen.

But they moved away from that stuff on their own a while back when they realize that it was upsetting fans. Not everyone grew up with Dukes of Hazards, so that flag get a much different meaning for them than good old southern rebels. I mean everyone saw Mark embracing Jay, it is clear he is not a racist.

I hope that is not the last time we see Mark in AEW. FTR could also use a third to go for the trios title and Mark would fit in flawlessly with their style.
