Tony Khan has a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT and it has NOTHING to do with the fact he is melting down on twitter, losing the favour of the IWC, and can’t book a good show to save his life!

The card looks... alright, I guess.

I didn't watch the last two weeks and this show is even less appealing. Only Danielson's promo interests me.

Skipped last week because I could tell the card was meh and I was right.

This one looks even worse. The battle royale will have some fun spots but most of the match will be random brawling in PIP during commercials.

We’re ten days from Revolution and I only care about the main event, and have no idea what the other matches will be or why I should care about them. I know AEW was bound to go through a rough patch but this is abysmal. And it’s so easy to correct too, they just aren’t.

I guess I’m also interested in who Adam Cole’s opponent is going to be but I’m hyping myself up for Jay White and will be disappointed if it’s anyone else.

I have a feeling Tony Khan’s announcement is that he is stepping away from creative and naming someone to take over, likely Christopher Daniels or Dustin Rhodes or someone like that.

My hopes, Tony calls out Max Caster and the Acclaimed to do a full diss track on Hewani.  Just five minute of them dunking on him while Tony laughs like a coked up maniac.  It would be great TV.  And frankly, better than some of the matches planned for tonight.

My take on AEW is it is worth watching every other week.  Usually every good week is followed by a shit week of weak matches.  Last week was clearly the shit week, so this week should be worth checking out.  Without a locked in card, room for interesting stuff to happen too at least.  Then again the day is young.  

Tony's booking is no worse than anyone elses really.  WWE has only one angle worth caring about, RoH seen multiple bookers, and at tops three storylines could go at a time, and usually one of them was this person has been champion long time.  

That said, if Tony REALLY cared for a creative guy, he should bring in Quack.  One thing CHIKARA was known for was LONG complex storylines, some lasting years.  Sure they were cartoony, but things like Quack vs Hero and Quack vs BDK were true works of art.  Quack is loosely affiliated with NXT, but not contracted, he just comes in and out guest teaching.

Game release date is probably what it is. Forgot about that. Saw some pictures of people at Game Stop getting display boxes prepped.

The booking is bad and has been for a long time, the thing is they just skirted by on some big names to hide the fact they had no long term plans in the works. We started seeing it when top stars were getting injured/suspended/crying about Colt Cabana, and fans were worried this skid was coming. They did nothing to correct course and everyone watching week in and week out called this months ago. Now we're here and the guy that caused all this is on twitter ranting about journalists when he should be worried about the fact that ratings have been sliding for months and Revolution might be the worst PPV in AEW's short history.

Am I worried? No, but what I wouldn't give for a feud to actually have a pay-off instead of A) fizzling out with no mention or B) going on so long that everyone involved loses their heat and fans beg for it to end. Not every feud is going to be Hangman vs. Omega, I get that, but it's fucking absurd that a company that pulled that story off can't handle a mini feud between The Elite & House of Black properly.

Announcement is forbidden door 2 it appears. Spectrum listed it early.  June 24th.  

Bet the real BIG announcement is Banks will appear and if champ defend.

Saraya vs Mone could be insane if they do a reality angle. Imagine Saraya cutting a promo about how Mone ruined her life?

If people want change, this has to happen though.   If ratings are good Tony will just see it as a green light for this repetitive booking.

I kind of forgot Yuta was the pure champion.

He is a great pure champion, but the belt means very little right now. Next week though, it should get more interesting.
