July 4th show will be Desperado and Jun Kasai vs Moxley and Homicide. Now that is an interesting match. All four have done deathmatches. Someone might actually die in that match.

What I find hilarious about Kasai is Mondo said he has a fear of needles. After Unfuckingbelieable he needed a tetinus shot and his elbow glued shut and he was freaking out when they said they needed to give him a shot. Spent the whole match getting carved up with glass, but the shot was where he drew the line.
Great to see Kasai getting love finally outside of deathmatches. He recently appeared in GCW as well. It is also crazy how many deathmatch wrestlers started after him, but retired before him, while he seems to have never slowed down.
Thinking him taking the powerbomb to the razorblade board was one of the most insane things I ever seen in a deathmatch. Really glad that gimmick seemed to have retired pretty quickly.

Phobias are weird like that. My dad was afraid of snakes. Ran into burning buildings for most of his career but if I caught a small Garter snake in our garden he would full on sprint into the house and lock me outside.

There are two NJPW Strong shows coming up in Tokyo.
Night one sees Bullet Club challenging for both the IWGP Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight tag team championships. The main event is El Desperado and Jun Kasai (some Japanese deathmatch legend or something) against Jon Moxley and Homicide.
Night two sees Giulia vs Willow Nightingale for the Strong Women's Championship, Eddie Kingston vs KENTA from the Strong Openweight Championship, and El Desperado vs Jon Moxley in a "Final Death" match, whatever that means. I guess it means the first wrestler who kills the other wins.

Jun Kasai is too obscure even for me. He did make an appearance a few weeks ago to hype the match so I saw what he looked like. His whole body is covered in scars. In his 40s, maybe 50s.

Kasai is fucking psychopath. He was in the match that got me into indy wrestling, and only got crazier from there. Unfuckingbelieable lived up to the name though and the match was so insane I was instantly hooked on indy wrestling. Mondo, Jun, Pain and Kashmere tore the hell out of each other with random weapons fans brought. To this day never seen a tag match as crazy as that one was.
Jun is 48, and seriously covered in scars. He spent the last 20 years wrestling on glass and with razors, and gusset plates. Sometimes just straight knives and swords. Only spots he really did not do were large fire spots and needles.
He is the greatest ultraviolent wrestler of all time. For hardcore wrestling he is a God. It is like Onita, Ito, Matsunaga, Pogo and Kasai in the top tier.
His main feds were CZW / Big Japan then Pro Wrestling Freedoms. He worked all of the smaller Japanese feds though.

I watched highlights of the match this morning. Mox is fucking crazy. He is set for life and doesn’t need to do this shit. He does it because he WANTS TO.
Crazy Monkey entrance was lit though. The crowd was definitely happy to be there. Bunch of psychos!

Loving seeing all the people freak out about how violent this match was, when overall, it was take for a deathmatch. Seems the skewer spot is where people draw the line. Not the knife, not the razorblades, the skewers...

Sure for the seasoned geeks dweebs and dorks it was probably nothing special, but does this mean it was drawing fresh eyes who perhaps weren't used to it? Certainly feels like in a weird rolling period this is the most deathmatch has been in the limelight for quite some time. Still a crazy world. Female wrestling and death matches associated with the company. I know it'll never happen but could we ever see a triple threat IWGP Heavyque? Dude this is why I can't book because I'd insist on a SCRAMBLE match. jTjohncenaGOAT knows what's up.

I just think it is fucking weird that Kasai slices Mox's head open with a chef knife and they are cool with it, but the skewers were too much. No mention of the knife or the board of forks at all. Only a few people mention the razors. But everyone out to talk about the skewers. Like skewers will be in AEW sooner or later since it is a safe spot.

Deathmatch wrestling is stupid. Still a crazy world. Female wrestling and death matches associated with the company. I know it'll never happen but could we ever see a triple threat IWGP Heavyque? Dude this is why I can't book because I'd insist on a SCRAMBLE match. jTjohncenaGOAT knows what's up. We have seen a Triple Threat IWGP Heavyweight Championship match, and it was quite recent. Kenny Omega defended the belt against Cody Rhodes and Kota Ibushi. 2017-2018 at a guess. It wasn't long before AEW got going.

In other news, Bullet Club struck double gold.
Clark Connors and Drilla Maloney defeated TJP and Francesco Akira to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
War Dogs (Gabriel Kidd and Alex Coughlin) defeated Goto and YOSHI-HASHI to win the NJPW Strong Tag Team Championships. War Dogs will get a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships tomorrow. Well, that's one way to split the belts.

So much so.. that I probably am indifferent to NJPW because they don’t do them. Clash of the Champions should just be 6 scramble matches to decide all of the championships.

Events on the final G1 shows are shaping up the big matches for September's Destruction series.
El Phantasmo has allied with the Guerillas of Destiny. They don't appear to be an official faction, rather a sub faction of Hontai the defacto babyface stable. Finlay and his War Dogs picked a fight with them, which prompted an...interesting promo from ELP and co.
Shota Umino was also very buddy-buddy with these guys but I'm not sure he's part of this clique. Speaking of Shota, him and Ren Narita picked up where they left off in G1, finding themselves opposite the ring from one another in every tag match on the undercards. It's likely they will battle at Destruction.
Things are looking up for Yota Tsuji, who pinned Will Ospreay on the G1 Finals show, connecting with two Spears to conclude a molten hot LIJ vs United Empire war. Tsuji made his intentions felt for Ospreay's United Kingdom Championshp. Ospreay will also meet Shingo Takagi at a special RevPro show. I don't believe any championships are on the line.
The following match saw Just Five Guys battle House of Torture. It would be generous to call this match lukewarm. After plenty of underhanded tactics SHO pinned Taichi, then issued a challenged for Taichi's KOPW belt. EVIL hit SANADA with his IWGP World Title after the match, handcuffed him to the ropes, and forced the ring announcer to declare that SANADA is not a fit champion and that EVIL is the new champion.
Jeff Cobb congratulated Naito backstage after his G1 victory and volunteered to lose challenged him to a match at the next show. Subtitles are not available yet but Cobb speaks English.

I missed a few things. Thanks reddit for filling the gaps.
TMDK (Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) will be the next challengers for Bishamon's IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. Shane Haste pins Hirooki Goto during their multi-man tag match and they pick up the titles afterwards.
As one of his rewards for winning the Young Lion Consecutive Battle Match on the previous night, Boltin Oleg has earned the right to challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the NJPW World Television Championship.
Tama Tonga will be the next challenger for David Finlay's NEVER Openweight Championship. After GoD clears Bullet Club out of the ring post-match, Finlay shouts wanting his title back. Tama Tonga picks it up and raises it.
El Phantasmo & Hikuleo will be the next challengers for BULLET CLUB War Dogs' NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship. After GoD clears Bullet Club out of the ring post-match (and lots of teamwork during the multi-man match), ELP & Hikuleo pick up Coughlin's & Kidd's championships.
HENARE will be the next challenger for Eddie Kingston's NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. After HENARE beat up Eddie Kingston yesterday and picked up the title, Eddie came out after the LIJ vs. UE match to continue brawling with HENARE.

A show that flew under the radar is the 11th anniversary of Revolution Pro Wrestling that took place the night before All In. They put together a card that felt more special than AEW's big show. Some NJPW wrestlers made a special appearance.
JJ Gale def. Kosei Fujita
TMDK's young boy Kosei Fujita is officially on excursion. He lost to JJ Gale in a pretty sloppy match, largely thanks to Gale trying flashy moves he's not trained enough to execute properly. Fujita wasn't very interesting but he is fundamentally sound, as every dojo graduate is.
El Phantasmo and Katsuyori Shibata def. David Finlay and Gabe Kidd
The crowd was hot for this match, but especially molten for Shibata. The match was structured as it should be, Kidd playing a great chickenshit heel to avoid Shibata, Bullet Club heeling it up on ELP, and Shibata getting the hot tag. It was a fantastic frantic tag match, everyone got a chance to shine, really good undercard match. ELP scored the rollup win on Gabe Kidd.
Zack Sabre Jr. def. Ricky Knight Jr.
Ricky Knight Jr. is part of the illustrious Knight family, the nephew of Paige. A characteristically great ZSJ match. ZSJ choked RKJ out for the win.
Tomohiro Ishii def. Luke Jacobs
To be honest I didn't pay much attention to this match, wrestling burnout kicked in. The crowd was super hot, it was clear this was a great edition of the Ishii strong style match.
Will Ospreay def. Shingo Takagi
Again I didn't really watch the match, I'm sure it was great, they have tremendous chemistry.
After the match there was a lot of mic time, which is where the horrendous audio production reared its nasty head. I could just about make out ZSJ challenging Ospreay for the IWGP UK Championship at the next big RevPro show in...October? Ospreay said many words, none of which I heard. Chris Jericho appeared in a mask to attack Ospreay in preparation for their match two days ago. Aussie Open ran in to make the save before Jericho could use a chair. Ospreay recovered and said some more words, probably to the effect of "Fuck you Chris Jericho."

Zack Sabre Jr. has become the most winning champion in the modern era with 13 successful championship defenses to his name, overtaking Okada's historic run of 12 IWGP Heavyweight Championship defenses. His latest defense was when he forced legend Satoshi Kojima to submit following an impromptu challenge issued by the champion himself. ------------------------- New Japan World will receive an upgrade in the near future. Looks exciting! njpwworld.com/feature/announce2
