The players will get used to it, this is exactly what preseason is for. Apparently in the minor leagues last season it took everyone a couple of weeks to get used to it and then the amount of infractions quickly reduced. It's a fantastic rule and will make the sport so much better.

I am an old school MLB fan so I am not a big fan of this but then again I like the longer affairs. I get it though, MLB is trying to cater to a more casual audience.
Think it sucks for baserunners and people who are running on 2 outs/2 strikes, especially if there's a foul tip battle going on. Less opportunity to catch a breath. Cardio will be put to the test.
Think it's gonna be hella dumb when managers will challenge to see if someone made it in time to avoid the auto strike though. But it will come to that point.
Speaking of, I can't wait to see which team exploits this rule by intentionally having baserunners nonchalantly come get back to their base.

So a pitcher gets penalized for wanting a new ball to get a better feeling of what to throw. Oh baby this is gonna be a mess.

In that example if the pitcher had just pitched the ball after he received it from the catcher he would have been fine. Instead he stepped off the rubber again. Think it's gonna be hella dumb when managers will challenge to see if someone made it in time to avoid the auto strike though. But it will come to that point. There's no challenges to the pitch clock.

It’s going to take a lot more then the clock change to bring baseball back to its “glory days” of Americas sport. They stayed too stagnant for too long in my opinion and the NFL and NBA were changing quicker and took over.

Another good long overdue rule pitchers are limited to a maximum of two pickoff attempts per plate appearance. If a pitcher attempts a third pickoff throw and doesn't get the runner out, it's an automatic balk and all runners move up one base. Cant tell how many times I've been bored to tears at pitched throwing to first over and over again.

They stayed too stagnant for too long in my opinion and the NFL and NBA were changing quicker and took over. The thing I want to see more of in baseball: bat flips. I want to see a guy celebrating hitting a home run like he just won the Powerball jackpot.😁 I know old school types will say it's disrespectful, breaking the "unwritten rules", and the batter deserves to be beaned, but to me, that's just trying to excuse the pitcher being a little bitch because his feelings got hurt because the batter took him deep. I mean, in football, you see guys celebrate making a tackle that just gave up a first down, and no one on the other team I tries taking him out. They just keep marching down the field, and if the score, celebrate bigger than the guy that made the tackle.

Edwin Diaz may have blown his Achilles out pitching in the WBC, that's awful for the Mets. Their bullpen is a huge and Diaz was magic for them last year after a rocky start post Seattle. Mets must have gotten the Yankee bug for injuries somewhere. Hope for the best. Celebrated the Puerto Rico victory too and it happened.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Britton, I have a suspicion that his arm is cooked. Robertson probably gets first crack at the 9th with Ottavino staying as the setup man.

Did anyone else watch any of the WBC?
I stopped paying attention when Canada got booted but I’m glad I watched tonight’s game. What a crazy ending.

I’m ready to be whelmed by the Red Sox this season. Not feeling their roster at the moment or any of the moves they made in the off-season other than resigning Devers. I expect another season without a postseason for the Red Sox but I hope to be proven wrong.

Nice. Definitely not an antagonizer. PS: You’re wrong with Toronto, Minnesota and the Mets.

Just read that Ken Griffey Jr is the 4th highest paid Cincinnati Red this season.
This Bonilla contract stuff in the MLB is wild.

Our pitching staff is atrocious. Good lord. Counting on Kluber as a top end starter is a recipe for disaster.
