Already is legal in most of the US. AEW has the Draft Kings logo everywhere and they are pushing WWE hard to allow them to pay to have it on the WWE mat, turnbuckles, apron and ringside banners.
This is the US, they will allow it, and allow it to be targeted at kids, because corporations are people just like you and me. They have the right to make friendly wagers with their friends.
US it is much larger sums involved. Draft Kings for example allows up to 500k to be wagered at a time with really large individual bets. So can easily lose all of your cash. Which is the point, to bleed people with impulse control disorders dry for profit.
Casino rules apply too, so if you win too much you are banned.
You’ve been able to bet on wrestling in Australia for years, considering under the Vince regime finishes would get changed constantly + rare case of injury changing the result it’s not as alarming as people make it seem. Being able to bet on reality shows like MAFS that are taped and have constant leaks seems like more of an issue.
Even then, stuff like the dolphins pulling an upset over the roosters can happen as you know…it’s a legitimate contest. Horowitz wins! Doesn’t happen often at all.
Besides the odds rarely go higher than $5.00, unless it’s stupid stuff like Veer Mahan was paying $101 to win the Royal Rumble . But if you’re the type of person who loves your $1.10 favourites then knock yourself out.
Put a $5 cap on bets no one would care about betting on wrestling here. The issue is the caps are high enough to bankrupt people who lose impulse control.
