As expected Twitter and Reddit going nuts for Vikingo. Know they do not represent the legions of wrestling fans who do not use the internet, or two of the most popular social media sites, but seems like this match generated a lot of buzz for AEW.

I really enjoyed Kenny vs Vikingo. It wasn't the spotty spotfest I was expecting, there was some nice speed vs power psychology in the early goings. And when it did get spotty, the spots were earned, and there wasn't too much convolutedness. It's interesting how Vikingo adds unnecessary flips to all his moves. He can pull it off consistently, so it works, bringing that lucha spectacle.
The aftermath was fascinating. Blackpool Combat Club as a bunch of thugs randomly beating people up is an interesting way to freshen up the group. Without the benevolent guidance of the saintly figures of Regal and Danielson, they're losing their morality and going rogue. What they are doing is what The Outcasts want to do, except there's only one women segment per show so they can't exactly run roughshod on the roster.
Speaking of women, the cutest, most petite woman on the roster, Riho, wielding a pipe strikes an amusing image.
Back to the main event, Hangman Page shows up driving an ambulance for some reason. Not very cowboy like, but I guess a horse was too slow. I assume that was a callback to something that happened earlier in the show.

Did Hangman Page beat up the ambulance driver and steal the vehicle? Or did he just politely wait for the paramedics to leave and steal the vehicle? Either way, he needs a night in the cell.

Omega v Vikingo was decent. That style of match isn't my cup of tea, while the pace is fantastic and the athletic ability is otherworldly, I can't get over the 'pause and wait' nature of the spots. Kenny especially. Viking's on the top rope and Kenny is like : I hope they do something with Vikingo, he's obvious talented and when organisations are always looking for that next Latino star.. there he is. Remember Komander, and all that buzz? I hope this kid isn't this weeks new toy and never seen again, it would be a shame.

I honestly expect WWE to make plays for both of them. They want both guys as they are huge latino market draws, and really young. Vikingo is 25, Komander 24. Both guys trained in their early teens too and are rock solid in standard lucha style. That said Tony may get them as they could under Tony work AEW and AAA, and still be home with their families some days. Downside to WWE is never being home. That may seem like a small thing, but may be how Tony keeps FTR, by simply letting them be home with their families more often than not.
Komander is on a world tour right now and said he will considering his options when he is finished. Which makes me think WWE and AEW both have offers towards him. Vikingo is the bigger grab though, but likely under some contract for AAA since he is their top star.

Vikingo took forever to set up that jump. That was the only semi-botch in an otherwise flawless match from an execution point of view, so pretty good.

Pause and wait is better than crash and burn. Remember when guys started at breakneck speed in early 2001 and there was a lot of missing spots from rushing. Think the worse I seen was Jack Evans missing a reversal and falling off a cage straight to the floor. Ah here it is: gfycat.com/limiteddeliciouscrocodileskink-squaredcircleNot sure there is a gif anymore, but Mark botching a SSP, then being not fully there walking into a fireball was also up there. And cannot forget Low Ki's series of winning matches via legit knockout from working hard and sloppy. So, sure pause and wait is silly, but so prefer that to seeing people get legit fucked up almost every show got for shit before they should.

Perhaps selling momentarily as opposed to just starring at your opponent breaks that awkwardness.
It's probably my one hang up with this type of match, it requires the opponent taking the spot to be on point. When it's done with absolute perfection, you don't notice that little 'pause and wait' but when it's performed anything less, it's as one person on Facebook described the match today " standing there waiting for little buddy "
Look, if that's my only hang up, that some spots were a bit awkward, that's ok. It was a good match otherwise.
Morley's stomps on Omega though... Sasha Banks at Royal Rumble vibes. Poor Claudio jumped on Kenny to save Moxley looking like he was half-assing it.

I agree, nobody is arguing that they should have rushed the spot, safety is always the number one priority. We're just saying it looked dumb. That sometimes happens when you have these hyper complicated spots, it can hurt the flow of the match. But that's the only execution flaw in the entire match so not a huge problem.

If Stone Cold can do it so can Page! Step 1: drink beer Step 2: steal a random motorized vehicle Step 3: COWBOY SHIT

I understand being safe is a priority but if you can't do something with making it look like you are working together just don't do the spot. And speaking of Tony's shiny new toys. I prefer Bandido as working a match as a whole and he disappeared probably placed ROH storage bin.

All I know is we get to hear Battle Cry on Dynamite again and I’m so happy.
God I hope Kenny has a singles match at the show in Edmonton. I’ve always wanted to see him wrestle live and if he isn’t there or is hurt or something I might cry.
