Or you know Collision aired at 5 instead of 8 to not compete with Summerslam.
Kind of funny how almost all of these low rating stories have things that are ignored from the original source posting about them.

Amazing interview with Nigel. Biggest news is he is training again in a ring. Gets into the irony of him commentating in AEW while he does not believe people should blade in wrestling for health reasons since that is likely how he got hep B.

Collision has no chance on these PLE weekends. Nothing to draw from it, it’ll go back to normal next week

Hobbs looks like he is getting close to returning. He def was missed here.
And yeah, Collision was moved because it was a PLE weekend and AEW's b-show is not gonna do good numbers against a PPV. I doubt WBD cares about this rating whatsoever.
But hey, people keep claiming AEW is going under while WBD keeps paying them for more stuff. Newest show debuts Sat.
Tony making it seem like the deal will be revealed soon and that AEW will become profitable. But we heard this before so who knows.

Collision has no chance on these PLE weekends. Nothing to draw from it, it’ll go back to normal next week I think it was stupid to move the show because of the PLE. They went up against Summerslam last year and pulled over 400k. Granted, ratings were higher across the board last year and Collision was a newer/better show, but there was still no point in moving it. You were guaranteed bad numbers you might as well just stick to the time slot. If you go to the Collision thread on wreddit there are a lot of comments from people who missed the show because they didn't know it got moved. And if those fans that watch every week didn't know it got moved then the more casual eyes definitely didn't know.

That is why it is worth noting with ratings if the show moved or not. Most people do not know a show is moved and will miss it when it is.

I agree with you guys. Just leave it there and take the hit. WWE don’t move Raw when there’s a big game on Monday night.

Part of the reason WBD likes AEW so much is they can move it as they need. It is reliaable ratings at any time. Wrestling fans whine the ratings are not like two million every week, but WBD seems fine even when it only draws 500k after a move.
Budgeted out wrestling is still one of the cheapest form of live content you can offer per hour, and scores better than most reality TV of similar costs. Likely Netflix even got Raw at a steal despite the large price they paid, when you compare it to the costs of shows that only give them 10 hours of content every two years. Imagine WBD is looking at AEW the same. It will be costly but they are getting at least 5 hours of content a week all 52 weeks of the year making the per hour cost for the product a real deal.

SRS reporting that AEW are in talks with Michael Oku to appear at Dynamite in Cardiff and possibly All In.
He had an absolute banger with Will Ospreay in Ospreay’s final RevPro match and recently appeared on the Jericho Cruise where he became the Open Seas Champion.
Could see him getting a big match on Dynamite and potentially being part of the Casino Gauntlet match at All In.

That’s a fucking brutal earnings report.
And yet everyone just thinks they’re in a position to write a giant fucking check to TK.

Didn't you hear? They're going to give him a billion dollars for his 700,000k show!
But, don't worry. The Network isn't concerned with ratings.. cos, cagematch.

Looks like Lucha Bros were offered a matching contract with WWE. So twice the dates, for half the pay if they take it.
Reason Starks is off TV was revealed. Tony wanted him as a face leading into All In and Starks said no. So Tony benched him and gave that All In spot to someone else. I am thinking he was to face Okada, who now seems to be fighting Cesaro instead with little build.
And surely THIS TIME AEW will go bankrupt. Funny deranged fans now seem to want to see a whole network fail because they host AEW.

I don’t want Warner to fail. Are you kidding me? I love HBO and I loved NBA on TNT. I want someone to take over and fix their shit before it’s too late. Ever since they’ve merged with Discovery, it’s been a nightmare.

Clearly this shows that WBD needs AEW more than ever now. The price just went up. I am good at business. Now please read my 40 page fan fic on how I would book ROH.

Squared Circle was it this time.
And I find it annoying as fuck that so much AEW talk ends up being being people that do not watch the fed only wanting to talk about how bad it is doing. Shit is weird.

Also for people that missed the Nigel interview, he is getting back into the ring and seems like he is working to return to ring shape. Very likely he will be Dragon's last AEW match and his official retirement match. Hope if they do a match, they both tone shit way down from their old feud as at the end they were both so reckless with concussion spots and just working excessively stiff.

Shit is weird. I think it’s weird that you don’t seem capable of separating fandom from a logical, realistic viewpoint on the business. You consistently go to extremes to mitigate any (valid) criticism, ensuring AEW is propped up. It’s like you fear we can speak its demise into existence, and you need to have a posting seance to prevent it. There are a few simple truths: - AEW doesn’t have a TV deal and were less than six months away from the contract ending - By *almost* every quantifiable metric, AEW is down. It’s still the second-largest fed. It’s still the biggest the No. 2 fed has been in comparison to WWE since 2001. That doesn’t mean AEW is healthy. You said the other day that someone else will just rise in their place. That the market can support 2-3 feds. If this show with prime time TV, multiple shows, a billionaire backer, and blank check talent roster can’t make it work … why in the world would anyone think another show can? TK could’ve had a strong niche from the jump. He had all of the goodwill possible heading into the launch. Instead, he tried to be a big time fed and has consistently failed to meet the goalposts he planted.

There are no reports that the AEW contract at WBD is in any danger though. WBD just ordered a fourth show, started to upload AEW to their streaming stuff and is branding TruTV as a sports channel for prime time WBD sports properties, 3/7th of which now are AEW properties. It is all fan speculation that keeps going based on fan obsession with ratings that has been going on years now.
Way I think this all is it is just people going into a fandom and shitting on what people like.

Way I think this all is it is just people going into a fandom and shitting on what people like. It’s not just ratings. It’s ratings and attendance, but it’s also soft metrics like good will and quality of show. Just because there aren’t “reports” that a deal is in danger (though I’m pretty sure there are notes of “concern”) doesn’t supersede the fact there isn’t a deal on a ticking clock. The fourth show is easy fucking content. Clip shows get made all the time (and have for years), and they rarely last a long time. You’re putting too much stock into a show “featuring” AEW talent and mislabeling it a fourth AEW show. Your final sentence makes my point, though. You can’t separate your defensive fandom from rationale dialogues.

I get where c is coming from which is why I encourage him to ignore the haters. I get defensive about things I enjoy and invest my time in as well, and I don’t just mean AEW. Most of the time you just need to tune that shit out. If I got upset or defensive every time someone replied to a tweet about the Maple Leafs with “lol 1967” I would have had a breakdown and walked into the ocean years ago. Someone replying to Tony Khan with “lol 680k WWE owns u” isn’t worth thinking about. Best to just focus on what is enjoyable about the show and hope that things work out. We have no control over any of it other than with our eyes and wallets and I’m gonna be there watching and going to shows for as long as possible.

I guess when you come out swinging and referring/insulting WWE every chance you get, you should expect some return fire.
AEW Fan : OMG, WWE sucks!
WWE Fan : No they don't, BTW AEW sucks.
AEW Fan : That's a lie, go suck Roman's dick!
WWE Fan : But, here's the data/ratings/attendance numbers...
AEW Fan : That's tribalism you dick.
WWE Fan : But, that doesn't change the data...
AEW Fan : Sorry, I watch wrestling.. if you want to support those mass murdering supporting, rapist Nazis... go ahead. Oh, BTW... stop pushing this tribalism. OMG it's toxic. OMG [tags random person] did you see this dick? He sucks, he can suck a dick!
That's the internet right now.

Cuts both ways.
AEW Fan: I can't wait to see [insert CMLL talent] on the show
WWE Fan: Who?
AEW Fan: [insert CMLL wrestler]
WWE Fan: Never heard of them. Who would possibly even care? Tony can't book and [insert CMLL wrestler] isn't going to draw any ratings
AEW Fan: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think TK having to regroup to one show, dropping back to four PPVs, and really being the modern day ROH “super Indy” of yesteryear is the best thing that could happen to WWE. What he’s proven is that there’s not a mass market for his vision of wrestling. I think we all assumed it was niche, but it’s been verified at this point. I know we don’t like ratings talk, but LOL TNA was more than triple the ratings of AEW in the later 2000s.

The last sentence by the WWE fan tends to be true. It's also missing the point. Why would this fan care about the ratings when they get to see this talent work a different promotion?
