Punk after all that was dropped to mid card, and had his public meltdown.
Like do people not remember Punk trashing WWE creative for years after he walked out? He was fight feuding with Cena, but when things ended and he had to lose then move back down he had problems. Will happen likely after Drew if he is not working in the main event after, which is unlikely.

When did Punk have an issue losing to Cena? Never heard that one. Someone is confusing a storyline with reality me thinks. To quote myself, remember when he threatened to take the WWE title to ROH? That was real.

Also not sure how people think Punk should be main eventing over the titles. Or even is the guy that should be holding a title over Cody or Roman. Protecting him just because he is Punk is just freaking silly.

Please... he was consistently in the main event or close to it in his last year back in 2013, working programs with Rock, Brock, Undertaker, Jericho... He also had a little 434 day title reign, that started in 2011 and ended in 2013. What a loser. In addition to main eventing TLC '11, RR '12, NOC '12, HIAC '12, SS '12, RR '13, EC '13, MITB '13 during that era. Throw an Elimination Chamber victory as well. Midcarder at best. You're right.

Punk was dropped to midcard near the end to help he Ryback over and threw a fit over it.
If Punk is not main eventing in WWE, then he should be ok taking losses to built up the guys who are main eventing then. Most would say Punk is at a point where he does not need to care about his wins because he has that record mentioned above. He beat the best already, so he should be helping guys get their own resumes to them challenge for a belt.

Injured repeatedly by Ryback, a staph infection, medical negligence on top of creative differences with a clearly out of touch McMahon.
The Rock at the time likely big-dicking his way into two Wrestlemania main events in a row during Punk's run as Champ as well. You want proof, we don't need proof, he tried doing it this year with Cody.
I'd be emotional too if I was continually mistreated, disrespected and forced against my will do work injured.

Find it funny we are the point where people are posting daily details of the AEW deal then deleting it within hours. Seen now three different reports on a deal that all got deleted in the past few days.

Not you all, like the big sites keep reporting the deal details, then deleting the news posts themselves. They all seem to be trying to get ahead of Tony announcing something at All In, and just are reporting what anyone tells them, regardless of whether or not they could possible know the details or not.
Thinking about it this week, I think the sole details we get is the timeline for the deal and if it includes streaming. The numbers I doubt get made public and people just guess at for the next three years to five years. Tony never gave the details of the original deal or the modifications he got with Collision. And WBD never gave it themselves either. 45 million a year was always a guess.

This TV deal makes me want to barf from boredom. Tony wore an HBO Max hat on his Barstool interview today and half of twitter is creaming themselves about everything streaming on there like it’s happening already.
Like yeah that’s a good sign that he is teasing that but holy fuck shut the fuck up already. I’m so over all this and have been for months. I JUST WANNA WATCH WRESTLING.

Even after Tony gets the deal, things will just move to either AEW is killing WBD or they will just not renew in three to five years. For people who do not watch the product, this is all they want to talk about.

Will happen likely after Drew if he is not working in the main event after, which is unlikely. That’s had nothing to do with Cena. He got pissed his Mania spot was now a feud with Kane and he walked, but (as you know) it wasn’t solely the match. The Ryback issue was while he was champion. Like, I’m just in shock of how off you are. Punk had been a face since summer 2013 when returned (including a massive match with Lesnar). There were no major feuds with Cena in late 13 into when he left in 14.

Well many were already speculating about him showing up in the Casino Gauntlet Match and now it's basically confirmed: Fightful is reporting that Ricochet has signed a multi-year deal with AEW and is on his way to London.

Do we place bets now on how soon we see the double backflip and pose spot?

Ricochet may not be able to appear at All In. He was released on June 30th, and while Biden banned non-competes, Monday a judge just blocked the Biden ban.
Believe Lashley and MVP are in the same boat. Shelton Benjamin however can appear and tease something big is coming.
Not sure why this week wrestling reporters are forgetting that 90 day clauses are routine for WWE though. Tony could have cut a deal with WWE to use him early, but that is not very Tony like to be diplomatic.

There is an advertisement outside Wembley that has the Forbidden Door logo on it and says “London 2025” Expect that announcement on Sunday. I don’t think they do Wembley but maybe O2 or something. www.reddit.com/r/AEWOfficial/s/8zm8cEXwiK

Claudio won the CMLL International Grand Prix. Match is a cibernetico and finish came down to Claudio and Volador Jr, with Claudio being the last man standing.
Teams:
Team World (Claudio Castagnoli, Yota Tsuji, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Mansoor, Ikuro Kwon, Flip Gordon, Robbie X, AKIRA, Rocky Romero & Kyle Fletcher)
Team Mexico (Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr, Esfinge, Euforia, El Valiente, Templario, Místico, Titán, Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis Jr.).
So wish Tony would do a cibernetico. The Dark Cibernectico seeing Chikara season 1 fight BDK is still one of my fav matches.

Swerve renegotiating his contract with AEW. Cannot imagine him having any interest in leaving given he made it very clear he was not happy with how he was used in WWE or that they cut him.

Some minor AEW and AEW-adjacent news from the RevPro show tonight:
-Dante Martin participated in a six-way match for the British Cruiserweight Championship.
-Saraya was present for Ricky Knight’s match.
-Mina Shirakawa is the new British Women’s Champion.
-Zack Sabre Jr & Hechicero apparently had a “master class in technical wrestling.”
-Grizzled Young Vets and Michael Oku both dropped their titles. There have been rumours of both signing with AEW or at least working with them in some way, and fans are taking this as a sign that they are preparing to be gone for a while.

Yeah looking like it is not a traditional non-compete in these contracts at all, but the 90 day stuff is merely notice WWE will terminate your contract in 90 days when people are released. Then WWE just used to keep people off TV those three months. Which is basically the way all of these will have to be under the Biden play now anyway.
Silly for everyone to call it a non-compete when really these guys are getting paid by WWE those final 90 days to stay home.
Anyway, great to see Ricochet in AEW. Where he fits in the best. Hard to be a small guy in the lands of giants that is WWE.
///
Tony pretty much confirmed Garcia is staying at the presser. I would assume the fact Lucha Bros were not used and PAC joined BCC means they are not. While I love those two, happy to see them leave if it means Penta gets a WWE run. I imagine he will be huge there while working a whole lot safer.
Miro not appearing at all in Europe I imagine means he is just sitting out his contract. What a waste there. Got a feeling he is done with wrestling. He does not need the cash with his real estate hobby, and not sure WWE really will pay big cash for him given on his exit he was not exactly a top guy.

Tony does not do 90 day non-competes. Punk gave it away. They may also not be entirely legal anyway, just no one really took WWE to court since the Biden changes to non-competes. 90 days NCC are legal because of how WWE uses them. Essentially, they give the wrestler a 90 day notice of their intent to terminate their contract and not use them for the remainder of those 90 days. So for the 90 days they are still under contract and being paid. On the 90th day, WWE terminates their employment. :\

I don't think I've seen any of the usual reports refer to it as a non-compete. I think SRS, Meltz, etc., all said he was clear to sign whenever. Rusev/Miro is an interesting one. Feels like a guy that will firmly slot into the "what if" area of fandom.

Miro is a weird situation since he was being used well as the midcard destroyer, and fans were loving his matches. Then he got "hurt" and spent years mostly away now with an undisclosed injury that appears to come and go.
///
Looking more and more like Tony may get Jey Uso. Rikishi is very vocal that he is better jumping to AEW than dealing with his poor WWE writing. Feels like it is either Jey gets a massive title run or he bounces. Not sure he can be a main event guy in AEW though either, which makes all these rumors weird.

I’m struggling to picture him in AEW at all. He’s not an AEW-style worker. He’s pretty mediocre in the ring as a singles talent, so I can’t see him holding his own in AEW where work rate is all that seemingly matters. Also, let’s be realistic in the framing of this. There’s no indication he’s going to AEW. His dad vented on a podcast he doesn’t like the creative.
