Tony comes out, thanks the live audience then asks whether they've seen his favourite movie Time Cop. He then implores the live audience to take a page from it and watch the show back when it airs on TNT.

Brandon Thurston posted that John Ourand is reporting that AEW’s new WBD deal is for 4 years at $170 million per year ($680 million overall)

AEW will continue to air on TBS and TNT and also TruTV.

If this is accurate that is a huge jump from their current deal of $35 million per year.

How? That's an awful lot of money for a series of television shows that still don't add up to one RAW or Smackdown.

WWE undervalued NXT, getting only $25MM a year.

My favourite ongoing wrestling news-related pattern is that whenever something big happens, wrestling journalists get beaten to the punch by actual journalists. Happened with the WWE Netflix deal, several parts of the Vince saga, and now this. They truly are a bunch of charlatans.

In no other industry can you have zero experience or credibility and call yourself a journalist.

Fightful is saying they have heard from their sources that there is still a Max streaming deal on the table and it will likely be separate from the WBD deal I posted about last night.

I really hope all this means we will get better access here in Canada. As of now we get Dynamite on TSN and that's it. Rampage and Collision don't even air here and PPVs are $50 USD which ends up being $65-70 for us.

AEW PPVs on Crave would be a big deal for both brands.

News this morning has broken that AEW star Miro has requested his release from the company.

Miro, also known as Rusev from his time with the WWE, signed with AEW back in 2020 and has had a turbulent time in the company.

Initially met with much fanfare and a dominant initial run, Miro has faded out of prominence in Tony Khan’s company and has wrestled just 11 times in the past three years.

A new report from Fightful Select has revealed that Miro has now requested his release from the company also revealing that the former US Champion was earning seven figures in AEW.

The report notes that despite requesting his release Miro signed a four year contract extension back in 2022 which could see him stuck under contract in AEW until Spring of 2026.

If I'm Tony I cut my losses and let him walk. Stop paying the guy to sit at home. It's no secret that Miro is very well off, having invested his wrestling money in real estate. He buys cheap houses and flips them for a profit or rents them out as an income property. He has the power to disagree with creative and not do anything he doesn't want to do because he doesn't need wrestling, and he's done it time and time again with AEW (and apparently WWE before they released him).

They gave him an excellent run as TNT Champion, then he got hurt. Then he came back and seemingly refused to do anything that didn't immediately make him world champion. He's proven that he cares more about money and his reputation than actually wrestling, which is fine. Good for him. But that's not gonna fly in AEW so they might as well stop paying him.

Zarian says AEW PPVs will start on Max in January.

He has also been saying “AEW to Max” for about 8 months now so take that as you will. He’s picked a date now at least.
