Also I figured Cody would win, but he had two interviews this week where he looked like an asshole so I’m not feeling sorry for him. The one about not liking Seth Rollins and wanting to claw his eyes out was pretty dumb but then I listened to one from Wednesday where he said he was the face of the WWE already, since he works full time and Roman doesn’t. Oof.

Night 1 was mostly about the good feels.

Tonight it was all of the OGs(Lesnar/Edge/Team Rousey) with the exception of Belair & Gunther winning.

That is the problem with Cody.  Give him the belt and he does those interview as a face, he just comes off looking like entitled asshole.  Then people turn on him.  Seen this in like three companies now.

I normally am hard as hell on WWE, but they knocked WM out of the park.  Several great matches, several good matches and only a couple that really were average at best.

Cody losing just sucks. But I’m confident that they know what they’re doing. I’ll hold my judgment until I see how this plays out.

As c said there were only a few bad matches. When I rewatch, I’ll skip Trish, Lita, and Becky.. Shane McMahon.. PatMac.. but everything else pretty much lived up to being a good or great match.

Agreed. Other than it being two nights (which is a killer time wise), I thought both nights had good to great matches and really pushed some storylines along. Some I'm not sure where they are heading, but I'm invested in seeing where it goes. I haven't felt that way in a long time.

Yeah, there's a looooooot of potential for a humbled Cody who needs to climb his way back up.

EDIT TO ADD: Cody came back at Mania, won the Rumble, he needs some adversity to overcome (aside from the injury) for this to be a compelling story. It's too early for him to hit the top of the mountain.

Unless the storyline is that the loss broke him mentally and he becomes Stardust again, then we know Vince is back in charge.

Roman/Paul were so damn good in that press conference.

The story they should do is just Cody lost his faith, and over the course of a year he he fights to regain confidence and work his way back up the card until he gets his confidence back to challenge Roman again.

Given how much they love Cody, feels like easy cash.

I wouldn’t call it a top 5 WM. Way too many classic ones.

HOWEVER

I do like where the WWE is right now and where it looks like it’s going. Reigns as the champion is just making it that much more awesome to see. I like that it almost adds a realism to it. Like who the fuck is going to beat that monster? He’s too damn good and the Bloodline is too powerful.

Cody's WrestleMania started with a bombastic thunder, and ended like a little Orange Cassidy spooter.

The ending was interesting because they were asked about their thoughts or the WWE being sold and merging with the UFC as soon as tomorrow and mentioned McGregor. Reigns said he had no idea about anything since he was just preparing to wrestle tonight and looked and sounded genuine about that. Heyman had a big smirk on his face and told the guy asking the question that he’s a trouble maker.

Roman also said he was the GOAT now. They both said that 1000 nights isn’t even their goal. Their new sights are set on taking this to WM40.

Everything about this shit pnly solidifies my enjoyment of aew television and ppvs. That company will continue to get my money

Had a damn nice elbow drop for likely never having practice that shit.  It is weird for people being like it is shocking Snoop did this unphased.  This was a guy who came up with people pulling weapons at shows and fellow rappers getting shot.  Wrestling calm compared to that.

Took the Usos, Solo and Heyman helping to beat him.  Def not a clean loss.

I’m withholding judgment but at the same time, yikes. Gonna give it a couple weeks before I decide how to feel.

But still though…like imagine Adam Page lost to Kenny Omega. Or Daniel Bryan lost to Triple H. There’s some moments you just don’t fuck with. I dunno man. I don’t even like Cody that much but when I saw he lost I felt like someone kicked me in the balls. This is weird.

God this is horrible, one of the girls from Belair's entrance had their mother die today and she found out at the show.

HHH addressed if WWE missed their moment with Cody. He is laying it out that they are telling a story and you have to decide if you stop the story at one point, or continue it. And you have to feel it out, and the story always continues.
