Ads seem rougher than usual tonight. Whoever's responsible for production now also needs to tighten it up, audio miscues and too many quick cuts. It also irks me how they don't let the moment marinate more sometimes, like earlier with Howdy/Gable.

Edit: Still miffed Nikki didn't get an interview in her vignette for some reason, the one who can promo the best and is the most interesting outside of Bo not getting to share her story was lame.

Big same. I'm open minded but not hopeful. Bo's impressed me but WWE rarely nails spooky, save for some stuff like Taker/Kane and original Wyatt Family.

Captivating show. Gunther got two segments, which was awesome. Drew McIntyre had some fun, until he didn't. Love the special guest referee announcement, one that makes perfect sense. Interesting booking with JD hunting Jey Uso bleeding into a Sami Uso reunion. The one thing I don't like is Bronn and Dragunov getting a #1 contender's match after they both challenged and lost. I guess the IC Division only contains three individuals?

Chad Gable/Otis/Wyatt Six segment was good.

I was expecting Liv to start grinning as soon as she turned away, exposing her outrageous acting. The fact that she didn't suggests that her and Dom are playing the long con. There's no way Liv actually has feelings for Dom. What confuses me is Finn Balor's role in all of this. He's clearly got something going on with Liv.

When this stuff with Liv first started. There was one of those Easter egg things that happened in the background of a shot where Finn and Liv got out of or into the same car.

I can’t imagine that Gunther will be dropping the title before WrestleMania. So let’s get on that. Who should his WM opponent be?

My best guess is that everyone will be tied up in storylines that are our usual suspects.

Finn v Damian should end at Mania.
Seth v Punk v Drew should end at Mania.

There is a legitimate possibility that Sami will be tied up with the Bloodline storyline. If that’s already passed, I could see Jey and Sami as tag team champions or fighting for the titles. They’re such a beloved team together and still got some miles.

Triple H said this week that Brock is under contract and they are basically just waiting for him to decide when to come back. In reality, I think they are laying low for a while on him and seeing how he is perceived by the fans before deciding what to do with him going forward. I know a bunch of people were excited about Gunther v Brock before the allegations came out.

But what if…

What if it’s John Cena? We already know he will be at Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania. The story is perfect. Unstoppable heel. Greatest of all time.

TBH. I don’t see any other possibilities out there.

It really does feel like it’s Brock or Cena. If they want Gunther to go the distance with the belt.. Brock would be a great candidate to eat the L. But I also don’t think they want to risk making Gunther a face with the crowd and putting him against Brock could do that.

Yeah I’m down for that.

I’d actually like to see Cena lose the Rumble (Orton win). And then desperate to get his 17th title win he goes through the wringer at the Elimination Chamber and earn a spot at Mania v Gunther. But then tragically lose. Orton loses in a face v face encounter at Mania but turns heel immediately anfter with an RKO then a punt and the return of the APEX and beats Cody for the title at Backlash. Cena leaves to Smackdown with the draft and works his way to a match at Summer Slam v Orton and dethrones him for #17.

Are they really going to drag out Priest/Balor 1v1 until Wrestlemania? It's eight whole months. I seriously doubt it.

Even Punk/Drew/Seth is also a stretch, those guys have been feuding since Wrestlemania.

Cena/Gunther is plausible and a strong choice, but so is Rollins/Gunther or Punk/Gunther. Cena/Rollins or Cena/McIntyre. Many options.

That's my point - how are they going to drag it out for 8 months more? The only reason they got this far is because Seth and Punk were absent for a good chunk of those months. They're all back presumably full time now. I guess Rollins vs Punk is the next marquee match while McIntyre giggles and twiddles his thumbs.

They could stretch out the Judgment Day feud with enough patience + layers added imo, it's probably the best story in the company right now and there's enough moving parts to hopefully keep it from getting stale.

But Punk/Drew already needed a dumb bracelet + Rollins for added measure. I love watching those 2 go at it but there's probably better stories all 3 of them could tell separate from one another.

Finn now leads Judgment Day 3.0 with Dom, Liv, JD, and Carlito.

They definitely just added some Dominic Toretto flavor to Priest's character lol.
