No joke.  Alpha Entertainment, run by Vince McMahon, is bringing the league back in 2020.

Ever since... ugh, Alpha Entertainment was revealed I assumed there's no way he's trying it again. Here we are.

I see that Vince took Trump's advice to heart. He said in the conference that if anyone took the knee, or not stand during the anthem, they'd be fired.

I guess Colin Kaepernick's not gonna be playing in this league. And I also bet that Trump will attend the first game, to give it big PR.

They could sign Tebow and Kaepernick, which that would definitely get them a lot of attention. Another thing, the current NFL labor deal expires in 2020, which is something that surprisingly has not been mentioned in the news. This could possibly mean players that are in the NFL could jump over and play in the XFL. I don't expect anyone really big to jump over, but who knows, it could happen.

While I do miss football in the offseason and kind of wish there was another something...not really sure 8 teams will keep the interest of the whole entire country. Who knows maybe they can get the Browns to join or something.

He’s only investing 100 million in the league, no quality NFL player is jumping over and risking losing that kind of money to play for a league spending less than 15 million per team.

I think it could work, depending on his expectations of success. If he wants to be successful on par with Arena Football then sure why not? But a no gimmick straight football league with subpar talent is gonna need some kind of luck to be relevant.

If Vince's dad didn't own goddamned New York as a territory, Vince would be some ten time failure in every field imaginable.

Can't wait. The NFL sucks. I hope the XFL is much more tailored towards the college style. I'll watch that any day. As far as current pro football, the Superbowl is pretty much the only game I watch.

Shortly before the season started, my friends and I all tossed in $20 and each randomly picked a team. The guy with the team that won the XFL championship that year got the $160 pot! Yay randomness! 1/8 chance and literally knowing nothing about the league and players!

...only to fold after 5 weeks dammit. Good thing I'm still holding that money in trust 🤯, because the league will be back in Feb 2023!

Now see this could be the start of something that might matter. A farm league for teams - more fringe players get a chance and some more development is good for the league. Also even with minuscule ties to NFL teams - fans might be interested.

The second I seen The Rock had any involvement with the NFL and participation in the Super Bowl, I knew he had some kind of deal in place with the NFL with the XFL.

Other spring leagues tried to force mergers or go it on their own. The Rock successfully gets a working relationship for the XFL with the NFL. The man is like DJ Khalid; all he does is win!

People joke about it, but he may actually become President of the United States in 20 years.😮
