People really do not understand how bad the experience of massive stadium shows are. You are likely to be squinting at screens. Forget trying to see the people in the ring at all. Looks great on TV with the massive crowds, but awful to attend live. I am the same way with wrestling, the shows I liked the best were sub 1000 shows. Every seat is a good seat. Prefer non-national feds too as you do not get hecklers. RoH was always ruined for me live by hecklers. Was miserable at the WWE arena shows I attended. Tickets were free, and good seats, but still was just not fun between the signs and the being far enough away that you could not really see what was going on. If I'm going to be watching on a screen, may as well do it from my own home than travel to Wembley. Clearly I'm in the minority since thousands upon thousands of people attend these shows, but yeah I don't get it. Same here. Why watch a screen live for hundreds, when I can do it at home free. Worse for me as I wear glasses and do not wear them at events to make sure they do not get broken, so I barely can even see said screen.

Dave saying 30k will be seen as a success for this show. When the bar is that low, then Tony can easily do this.
Also Ibushi wants to be on the show.

I wear glasses too, and I'd be practically blind without them, but I've never thought about not wearing them to an event for fear of them breaking. Not even metal shows.
I do have a spare pair but I've never once had reason to use them.

I have no spare, and this is US healthcare where they can be hundreds of dollars because they are not seen as medical necessaries for some reason.

I agree with Dave that 30k is bar for success Tony cuts the stadium in half for the arena, sure. He does not, I would say more empty seats than filled seats is not a good look.

I'm with todd where I'm coming at this show purely as a fan. While nothing about the product right now suggests they should have a show at Wembley I'm excited to see them try. They're going to have to pull out all the stops and I'm curious to see how AEW returns serve after the WWE just finished up their road to Wrestlemania. As a fan I'm excited because really Tony can't spare any expense and it's going to be fascinating to see how he goes about promoting the show. Will we see AEW step up their production? Will we see them roll out some big stars and run their best television angles to date?
It's not like it's sink or swim, but if it does work out this would be a massive moment in the industry.
On top of that, there's a chance that papaya could run into Riho!

I’m not saying it will look great, but I think it’s a reasonable target in pure numbers for the company. They also signed Dunn’s number two a while back. He needs to earn his bacon and dress it up.

I paid $240 for my last pair in 2002. Likely will be far higher now. Our doctors are allowed withhold measurements too so we do not use the internet to get them made. Only three states here require your doctor to give your pupillary distance. The rest it comes down to the individual doctor. Glasses in the US is a total scam.

Presale already has 25k registrations and it’s only open to the UK right now. Hotels & BnB’s in the area are also booking up fast since the announcement.
They’re breaking 50k easy.

I really don’t want to sound like a cunt so stop me if I do. Why does 25k sign ups lead to 50k tickets?

The average ticket buyer buys I want to say 2.6 tickets on average when I last looked.
So if 25k people are registering to buy tickets, they will likely be buying 2 or more tickets, getting a floor of 50k. The assumption here is everyone that registered will buy tickets.

Yeah, over 85k people registered for the Clash At The Castle presale (59k in the first 24 hours), but the actual attendance was 62k.
I don't think there's really any use speculating either way off presale figures!

Also it is ticketmaster, which allows reselling, so many of the tickets sold day 1, are being relisted right afterward.

Christ you're a killjoy. I travelled from Berlin to Paris via train when I should have gone directly to Amsterdam to meet my family just to have a weekend in Paris. If you're motivated, you'll go. I've known guys who travelled to London for a weekend from Adelaide just to see a Premier League final. They probably spent more time in the air than on the ground, but they were motivated to see it. A flight from Berlin to London is less than 2 hours, factor a few hours to get through Heathrow and into a car, and you'll be in your hotel overlooking Hyde Park before lunch. You calling someone else a killjoy while discussing aew. The irony is so thick I think we magically swapped gimmicks. I'm telling people to support it.

The question isn't infrastructure, but motivation. Can Tony convince 90k people all around Europe to travel to London to see his show. There are trains, but you are in a for long rides outside of the UK. And even in the UK some are looking at hours spent on a train. Looking like 8 hours from Germany or Ireland. And while it is a tourist city, I just do not see your average tourist there on business or for a bit fun giving up a night to do AEW that is not already there for it.There are various scenarios for how Tony will fill the stadium with casual fans but I just do not see them. I do not see 90k from all over Europe flooding the stadium, nor a swarm of tourists in London just suddenly deciding that one night to watch wrestling. I'm reminded of (of all things) San Diego Comic-Con before it became Movie/TV Extravaganza Con.
A big part of the reason San Diego became *the* comic book convention back in the day, attendance-wise, is because it was in a tourist-friendly city. Easy enough to make a family vacation out of it, spouse takes the kids to the beach or the top-notch zoo or the touristy Old Town while you go get your geek on for the day/week. Hardly stuck in the middle of nowhere, plenty to do if comics don't interest you in the least.
It would seem like a very easy pitch to the family to say let's go to London for a few days; if the kids/spouse really have zero interest in AEW there's Buckingham Palace or catch a show at the West End or get your mark photo taken at Harry Potter Platform 9-3/4 or a kajillion other things and see you for dinner.

Matt hinting that he wants the Hardy Boyz this show. Jeff is another guy you dust off if you want to sell tickets. Not sure he should come back full time, but as a special attraction he could be a good guy to use.
He fucks up again, he is in real trouble though since that suspended sentence is for 10 years.
Hardyz vs the Bucks ties up those teams well and allows for more exciting stuff with the other tag teams.
