If AEW pull 35k to that stadium it will be fantastic and the best thing for wrestling since WCW’s heyday. Still might go

I don't doubt he'll fill Wembley, I just don't believe everyone will be a paying customer.
I'm going to suggest, everyone on that card will likely have their families in the stands, and AEW will make some outlandish ticket donations to schools and charities to fill seats. That and every celebrity/influencer in the UK that gives a damn about wrestling will have a free ticket.
This is likely an investment, a giantic advertisement for AEW more than anything.

Pull your head in dickhead.
I'm sorry you're as miserable as some of the other guys on here that can't fathom, nor handle something that doesn't fit your narrative.
I've lumped a heap of praise on this attempt to sell out Wembley, I've encouraged everyone to support it despite some of AEW's biggest supporters on here thinking AEW has no chance of selling out. In all, I've given more positive feedback on AEW over the last month than ever before.
Tony is selling AEW to the world by attempting to sell out Wembley - it's a grand statement that will show there is more than one player in town.
And oh, if you think 160,000 paid to see Wrestlemania over 2 days, you'd be wrong. 160,000 may have attended, they didn't necessarily all pay. You've never got free tickets provided by a sponsor or associate of an event or organisation? No? Well that sucks to be you.

On Cassidy. I've mentioned repeatedly how good Cassidy has gotten and how much I've enjoyed his matches. He is one of the most consistent parts of AEW. And I'm super pumped for what they do with Jey White. I think the initial booking working with a guy like Ricky Starks is a joke, he's better than that. And this angle this past week from Jericho and Cole is likely to be some good stuff. Anything else? You want me to give you a list of everything I like about AEW - because there is actually a number of things I enjoy about the product.

nazzer , cut it out. You've said your piece, stop throwing insults around. Nath has been perfectly reasonable. April 19th dynamite thread 5/5 comments included negativity cynicism. Apr 12 th dynamite thread. 1/1 comment included negativity and cynicism. cool, cool, cool. I get it. Gimmick is witty and edgy, cool cool cool. I guess my idea of perfectly reasonable is different than others. Why contribute to a discussion if every comment you have to make is to be negative about it? How does that contribute joy?

And on " AEW at Wembley " itself :
Again, positive ( and supportive) comments in bold
Re : London transport issues Re : TK's balls ( feel free to caption that one ) Re : Fans supporting this event Re: Fans supporting this event Re : FTR v Bucks III Re : Again, no doubts Re : making an impact
Apart from a little bit of bullshit about ratings, I've encouraged people to support his show throughout this thread. I've challenged people who have claimed holding a show of this magnitude is something London, the city itself isn't capable of - which is absolute rubbish. I've even challenged the idea of how difficult it is to get a flight, and accommodation into London - it's not. Some of AEW's biggest supporters here have laughed at the notion that this is even possible. I've told people it's possible.
Buddy, this is the least cynical I've been about AEW.

So...what do you guys want to talk about?
I think people are forgetting what a massive fanbase wrestling has in the UK. Plus there will be others coming from different countries to go because it's much cheaper to travel in Europe for a show. When we would go to Mania, I'm telling you at least 1/4 to a 1/3 of the crowd were UKers. Maybe it's changed but I don't think so.

I think Impact had five figure crowds, when they went to the UK for the first time.

The UK currently has the worst inflation in West Europe. Unemployment is up. Food prices are rising at their fastest rate for over 45 years. Energy bills are doubling (or tripling).
It doesn't really matter how big the fanbase is if no one can afford to go!

You're probably right. I think Impact had five figure crowds, when they went to the UK for the first time. They definitely didn't. I was at the first shows and the building has a capacity of less than 2k. TNA's all time attendance record was just over 8k.

It doesn't really matter how big the fanbase is if no one can afford to go! I'm not sure about there, but here inflation or no inflation, if we want to go, we'll make it happen. Inflation is the same here and I just paid $200 for a ticket to see AEW with RT and I barely watch it, but I like wrestling and live events. I have friends coming from other provinces to go and while I was trying to buy tickets they were disappearing in front of my eyes. If people want to go they'll find a way.

Now that they’ve capped the set up at around 50k they have a chance to sell all the tickets. It’s probably the top end of what they can do. I’ll say 40k plus or minus 10k either way.

If Tony puts together a card for the ages, people will travel for it. It needs to be treated as a Wrestlemania type event, meaning TK needs to hold his cool for a few months and not blow all his money matches over the next few months. Based on what's happening now in AEW, he could easily book the following : Chris Jericho v Adam Cole Bryan Danielson v Kenny Omega The Young Bucks v Moxley & Claudio Jamie Hayter (c) v Toni Storm Brit Baker v Saraya MJF (c) v Sammy Guevara v Jack Perry v Darby Allin (hopefully in a ladder match) -- Some fantasy booking might see : The House of Black (c) v Bullet Club Gold Orange Cassidy (c) v PAC or Will Osprey FTR (c) v The Hardys Wait for it... CM Punk v Samoa Joe (c)

Although I hope he saves Britt vs Saraya for Wembley because that's a huge match and should be done there. If it's me, I have Saraya cheat to win the Women's title off Hayter at DON, then Britt avenges her at Wembley. Hayter & [insert name] face Ruby & Toni in a tag team street fight or something. Also Matt Jackson is still nursing an injury. Possible The Young Bucks sit out of DON. Elite vs BCC is ending with Blood And Guts, I'm sure of it, just a matter of when that match can happen. Between now and Wembley there are two huge PPVs. It's going to be really interesting what they decide to book for those shows and what they decide to save for Wembley. If OC doesn't drop the title at Forbidden Door he is 100% dropping it to PAC or ZSJ or someone else British at Wembley. I could absolutely see them recreating Bulldog defeating Bret Hart for the IC title, although a closer comparison would probably be Ospreay defeating Omega for the IWGP US title. That last match...holllyyyy. Could you imagine?

Maybe the Bret/Austin double-turn during Cassidy v PAC?
Cassidy is the obvious face stateside, yet gets shitted on in London, and just pulls every heel 101 troupe to beat PAC. Except PAC wins for the pop.

Punk main eventing 100%. They may do a Forbidden Door theme, but very likely Punk fighting MJF as the main event.
And still would rather see Ospreay vs PAC, and DB vs ZSJ.

Well Tony went for the pussy option. He is blocking off about 30% of the arena seats, but putting a few thousand on the floor. Will be far easier to fill if sellout is 55k to 60k. I saw on another post, claiming that this isn't the layout for All In. That this was just somebody doctoring the floor, over another event's setup (Pink's 2019 concert at Wembley).

Same setup most likely. They added the grey shit in the middle, whereas Pink that would be just general floor admission. But likely Tony still is closing part of the arena for the set. Will make it easier to fill the show.
Would kill to be there June 21st. Rammstein is coming with a European arena live show. Likely be their most insane stage show yet just due to the sheer scale of the stadiums they are playing.
And do wonder, who draws more, Rammstein or AEW.
