I still don’t think much scalping is going on apart from maybe the first few rows which is every event ever. I think they’re going to sell 60-70k tickets. They’ve created an event in an untapped market where they have good television exposure. There’s a bit of FOMO about it, a bit of a bucket list thing about it, and I think it’s going to be huge. It’s fantastic. Pour one out for the wrestling is dead folks.

All the scalping numbers really will do is determine how fast the remaining tickets move. Meltz is on crack thinking only a few hundred are going to be resold. Likely thousands will be relisted on Ticketmaster friday. People resell as their jobs. They are not just going to skip this because it is wrestling. Particularly in the UK where scalping football is banned and the economy is shit.

UPDATE:
As of now, they've just reached the 50,000 plateau just on pre-sale, with a gate of $6.5 million!
And this is all before the sale for the general public tomorrow.
What an accomplishment.

Looking at the gates for ALL IN, Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, etc it certainly blows the theory that " no one watches wrestling anymore " out of the water.

They’ve broken 60,000 sold. Approximately 6,000 tickets left as of a couple hours ago.
If this sells out today or on the weekend they could potentially add more seats and aim for 70,000.
Absolute madness.

I'm in a Discord chat with a lot of Sunderland fans (yeah I know), and we didn't realise how many of us were/are wrestling fans and are going to the show.
We're gonna do a meet-up down there.
So. Friggin. Hyped.

What is interesting, is the resale count. So extremely low. Need to watch over the week, but seems the bots did not go hard. Which does make sense, you make the most cash in a sellout and selling out Wembley is not easy.
Also Tony is looking at a sellout or really close. And is slowly trending to being one of the largest shows in wrestling history outside of the Korean shows that people were forced to attend.

What’s funny is the people who are reselling are reselling at a loss. You can already see tickets up for below face value from resellers.

Yeah, UK makes this all weird since there are also laws against scalping but they may or may not apply to wrestling, it is not entirely clear. Like football tickets can be sold only below face value.
And what I been seeing is people upgrading their tickets as more are open and selling their old tickets at a loss.

The hype has not died down, I am going to all in, why hasn't it sunk in yet?
I don't even care what the card is, but I can guarantee one thing...
CM Punk will be there 😎

I would not worry about the card. With that many fans Tony likely getting calls asking for spots on the show. I mean Ospreay said publically from the start he wants on this to make sure Tony does not forget him.
And let's say the show is average at best. It is still one of the largest wrestling shows of all time. If it sells out, it will be of the top five shows of all time, with the two ahead of it likely having inflated numbers that are not real. And the other two top attendance was not optional, Korea forced people to attend.
Regardless of how you slice it, this is a historic event and worth attending for that alone. That all said, when Tony and crew need to step up, they do. Very rare for an AEW PPV to just be mid.

Dude is it possible to get a Hogan/Rock Joe/Kobashi rabid crowd that just MAKES IT regardless if the matches suck?

Crowd should be hot. Will not have the Rock/Hogan or Joe/Kobashi vibes as it is a much larger arena. But when the crowd does get loud it will drown out everything else with like a roar of white noise. Think football goals but sustained.

Or any time you've seen a WWE PPV of that level....
Punk v Joe might give you that Rock/Hogan noise.
But christ almighty are we delusional thinking anyone in the sport is on that level of The Rock and Hogan in 2002?
But it's a different audience. And the AEW faithful will be passionate.
Kenny v Okada maybe...

Just the acoustics of the venue. Has nothing to do with who is in it. It is a semi-open air large stadium. Hard to hear people individually as you would in smaller venue. Tony could heavily mic the ring and amplify the nearby rows, then mix it for the PPV, but more likely than not, even that will get crowd out by the crowd behind them reverbing through the stadium.

For those who never seen them go at it, RoH left this online.

It was just bad timing all around for him. He signed a loose deal to head to WWE, but failed their physical finding all sorts of damage. After that his career spiraled and then he got Hep B. I think the hep just scared the shit out of him and he walked as a result of it. Almost certain he got it from double blade job matches.
I assume in AEW he will do rare matches, but who knows. I doubt he returns full time as he was also very, very beat up from his RoH run and going super hard for years without a break.

He tore one of them, and just like worked through it. That was what cost him the WWE job. He had a string of concussions as well.
