Apparently Minnesota rotated goalies all season and their coach didn't plan on stopping. That might change now. I think if the last game wasn't double OT with Gustaffson making 51 saves that he would have played last night.

It's funny, you have Sheldon Keefe trying to galaxy brain Tampa by doing things he didn't do all season and getting absolutely stomped, then you have the Wild sticking to the plan that has worked for them all season and getting absolutely stomped. Playoffs are so weird.

I know I wasn't gonna say very much about the first round, but holy shit, about those two overtime games today!

What a comeback by the Oilers tonight.  I thought surely that they'd be done early on.

Down 3-0 after 20, they fought back, and won 5-4 in OT.

Whole new series now.

Oilers never gave up and the Kings completely shit the bed after the first period. Recipe for disaster in LA.

Literally everything we have wanted from them in the playoffs for the last 5 years. They do it all regular season then forget how to play hockey when the playoffs start.

I have to admit. I’m having the most fun watching Toronto and Edmonton so far. Boston still looks too damn good but they are facing the Panthers who just look like jobbers with their uniforms.

Seattle takes a 3-2 lead heading back home. They have really taken advantage of the fact the Avs have key players injured and Makar missed last night due to suspension.

With Makar back next game, Colorado is going to be really tough to beat, but how sweet would it be for the plucky Kraken to get another home playoff win that eliminates the reigning champs?

I enjoy Colorado and watching them but I think they’re done.

Alright so I’ve fucking had it with Mika Zibanejad and the Rangers.

Game 2 I bet $200 on Mika to score a goal. No goal.
Game 3 I bet $300 on Mika to score a goal. No goal.
Game 4, surely he’s due, I bet $500 on Mika to score a goal. No goal!
Game 5, NOW HE HAS TO BE DUE, I bet another $500 on him to score which would break me even on Mika this postseason AND THE RANGERS END THE GAME WITH ZERO FUCKING GOALS!

I’m down $1500 on Mika which is fucking insane considering I’m hitting goal scorers in every game. For example I bet $400 on Mark Stone (bc I was smoking a joint getting “STONEd” and he scores to break me even on Mika.

But man honestly fuck the Rangers and fuck this guy. Kreider has been scoring the way I’ve expected Mika to score and last night they got absolutely abused by the Devils. Honestly the Rangers looked just as bad in Game 4. I still think this series goes to 7, but I also believe that the Devils just have their number this season. I was really expecting the Rangers to keep up with the Knicks and keep MSG popping this postseason but they’re just getting abused by the Devils.

Anyways, as for tonight I expect the Bruins to continue following suit with the Celtics. After failing to close it out at home (like the Celtics) I expect them to close it out tonight. I’m contemplating putting money on Pasternak but I might roll a joint, smoke it and bet on Zacha to score.

It would be cool for the Islanders to make those in season pick ups mean something by taking it to Game 7 but they just haven’t convinced me of being better than the Hurricanes this series so I think it ends tonight.

I think the home teams close out the night by winning so I’m taking the Wild and the Kraken ending the Avs season.

What in the actual fuck is going on?! Florida won again, and now the 65-win Bruins’ season comes down to a one game, winner-take-all showdown. What a absolute disaster it would be if Boston fails.

I never wanted to say anything about this series, because usually when I open my mouth about the Leafs, the result would be failure.

Now that the series is over with their victory, and finally broken through that ceiling, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief.

It was our anniversary weekend (not really our anniversary is on the 9th but I was out of town for work) and we did a staycation in the city while grandma watched the kids. We were out for dinner last night and I was trying to avoid televisions because this weekend was about us and not hockey.

We got a bit drunk and decided to go see the Mario movie. I had already taken the kids but Mrs RT wanted to see it. We went to the fancy 4D theatre at West Edmonton Mall that has the roller coaster chairs and environmental stuff like wind and water. It was sick.

Anyway right before the movie started my sister texted me: “THEY FUCKING WON!!”

I stood up in the theatre and yelled. There were only a few other people there but one dude was like “Leafs!?” and I said “yeah!” and he started cheering too. Must have been on a date or something.

Driving back to our hotel we blasted Hall and Oates and got cheers from Oilers and Leafs fans alike. The 3rd period was still happening in the Oilers game and just before we pulled into our hotel the Oilers went up 5-4. It was like the city erupted. We heard screaming downtown and were like “oh guess they scored”

From our hotel room we could see people partying in the streets and about a block away someone lit a dumpster on fire. It was sick.

Anyway, that was our night. One more thing:
