Jets and Giants getting the two top Cs in the draft is ironic, I had JMS going to the GMen in round 1 in the mock draft so that was a good value. Hyatt if used properly could be a nice Robbie Anderson or Chosen One RA clone. Deonte Banks had a lot of rave among draft scouts and felt he would get drafted higher, lord knows the Giants needed a CB upgrade, especially with how Philly diced them up in that department in the divisional round. Banks seems like the perfect guy for Wink's system, that can play on an island and open up the potential blitz packages.

Too late everyone has moved on already draft thots: Thank goodness the newz about the Texans not taking a QB turned out to be false, but you cannot justify the type of haul they gave up to get #3 for a non-QB. Will Anderson basically has to be a perennial all pro to make it worthwhile. At least there is something to be excited about for both Houston and Indianapolis now, the AFC South probably still won't be good but at least they will be interesting. Best looking drafts on paper for me were the Steelers (sneaking ahead of the Jets to grab Broderick Jones, and then picking up another 3-4 guys who will probably play significant snaps) and Seahawks (have a contender to the Bengals for best trio of WR, and potentially a league-best pair of CBs). Obviously I'm biased but I think the Giants sneak in there too with Jalin Hyatt's boom or bust potential obviously being the big pivot. The most "yeah that's perfect" pick had to be Buffalo getting Kincaid. He seems like the exact piece they need in the middle of the field that they didn't have last season. Had to correct you on this one, Lawrence Tynes was the Giants kicker during the 42 & 46 period (he of the OT winning kick in the NFCCG against the Packers!), it was Josh Brown who was the domestic abuser. My apologies. I knew it was one of them around that era. Hard challenge to the Seahawks being a threat to the Bengals receivers. I’d probably take Higgins and Chase both over Metcalf.

In fairness to UT, when you come with takes like this, you might as well call this assault to common logic. He is bar none the biggest Giants homer on social media. I am fully convinced the MRSA he got in Tampa Bay went to his head.

Off on a bit of a tangent but people who call athletes by their jersey number might be my biggest bugbear. I just find it so grating.

I will let it pass in one or two cases - Rodgers as 12 has caught on over the years, but no one ever called Eli 10.

Just saying it’s pretty engrained in football culture and I never thought of it annoying someone. I do think it seems to something earned in the pros as opposed to being more of a necessity through school sports.

I also get annoyed by those who act like they are on first names basis with athletes. Again there are a few exceptions I am happy with, like Lamar (because there are a lot of Jacksons in the league) but there are some egregious ones like people acting like they grew up with Mahomes and can just call him "Pat".

What if it’s their nickname? Kobe instantly comes to mind. Lebron too. I always called Adams , Tae because it seemed like that’s what most call him. Jaire too. I don’t know I guess I use it on a case to case basis.

Good that’s my soul purpose for being here. Just wait until next year when Jordan, Christian and Romeo tear up the league. With a little help from Rashan , Kenny and Jaire on defense of course.
