Bunny tried to get a submission victory with the figure four but no luck, however he ultimately went over with the Canadian Destroyer

Clusterfuck ending with Carlito, LWO and Savio Vega all coming out to run off judgement day.  Bunny then hit a sliced bread number 2 and destroyer for the pin.

Naw it was a decent finish stealing a win from the kimura, a legit MMA finisher that ends fights then and there.

It was more that he got the roll-up (about as clean a win as you'll get against Brock) but then jumped out the ring and ran to the back. Made it feel a bit of a fluke

It absolutely was a fluke win.  But he will take it as a win is a win.

Just going off memory so highlights:

Cody went at Brock before the bell with the steel steps and tried to use a chair before ref sorted it out. A few Disaster kicks and possibly a cutter attempt reversed into a German suplex.

Brock doing his usual beat down with many German, snap suplexes and just straight throws. Cody inadvertently took the turnbuckle pad off trying to brace himself from a suplex leaving it exposed.

Sent Brock into it which busted him open and he was bleeding pretty heavily, Brock hit an F5 for a 2 count

Brock Locked in the Kimura trying to get Cody to tap but Cody used his momentum to pin Brock for the 3.

But it makes sense. You can throw hands with Lesnar all night and he's never going to topple over. And that's how every other match goes. A fluke win makes sense, he's been out smarted.

And if Cody stood in that lock for even a few more seconds his arm would have been broken. So it is pulling a win out from the very brink of defeat.

Like people do not really think about the origin of that move. Kimura locked in a wrist lock on Helio Gracie, and Gracie did not tap. So Kimura broke his arm. He still did not tap so Kimura transitioned into the Kimura lock and broke his arm a second time. Then when he went to crank it a final time, Gracie's brother threw in the towel to prevent his arm from being utterly destroyed.

So Cody surviving that lock long enough even for a three count is a big deal.

Yeah, I second that.

Crown Jewel he went on first.

Royal Rumble 22, he was in the middle of the card.

I reckon there's other shows where he went on first or early on the card because he's anti-social, hates civilisation and gets in, and gets out as quickly as possible.

When it calls for it, sure he's the main event, and this was one of those times.

Interestingly, Roman has taken the month off and absolutely no one (kayfabe wise) has called the guy out.

Yeah we're getting that Cody/Lesnar rematch at NOC.

I could totally see Cody getting in one of those Triple Threats tomorrow night and looking like the odds on favorite, only to have Brock interfere and put him out of action. Cody doesn't even get to the main event round, much less to go to Night of Champions to decide the champion. 

Yup, that IMO was the point. To do a rematch. Assume too Brock wanted this feud.  Would not be shocked to see Brock challenge Cody to an I Quit match, then lead into a third in a cage or cell.  Program could get to through Summerslam.

If he eats the L in the singles match.. he takes the pin fall or submits. In the triple threat, he can lose because of interference and still not even be part of the decision. Not taking a pin fall or submission even after Interference would help protect him just a little bit more.

I Imagine Cody losing an I Quit match when he passes out and can’t compete.

A great opener from Bianca and Iyo, man it was weird AF seeing Belair get booed as the crowd were constantly cheering for Sky.

Belair/Sky was MOTN for sure. I’m surprised but thrilled they let Iyo shine in that match. Props to Bianca for adjusting to the crowd response on the fly as well!

I think they told a great story with Iyo going for the arm, instead of her usual arial attack and she pretty much had a counter for everything Bianca threw at her except when she missed the Moonsault.


They need to be really careful how they continue to book her title reign though. The crowds started to turn on her during the Alexa Bliss feud. Hopefully it’s just an anomaly being in PR, kinda like how Canada gets termed Bizarro World.
