So help me out here guys, tell me if I have this right...
In 2022, the Elite returned and in a dramatic match defeated Hangman Page and the Dark Order to become inaugural six-man tag team champions. Then they got snapped out of existence, only to return and find themselves embroiled in a best of seven series with the Death Triangle. Despite winning the titles, they lost them at their first PPV defence and now they're fighting the Blackpool Combat Club to defend the honour of Hangman Page. The Blackpool Combat Club are a bunch of sore losers who couldn't hack what happened at Revolution and they've allowed that bitterness to fester into full blown hatred for the Elite. Then in a side-plot, Don wanted to break up The Elite so Kenny would go solo, Kenny rebuffed him, so Don ended his relationship and poured his energy into a new protege Konosuke Takeshita.
Is that the size of it?
My question is did the Bucks do anything to become fan favourites again? I know they were teasing a rivalry between the Bucks and reDragon for Adam Cole's friendship but after being dicks and ruining shows with sneak attacks and dishonorable tactics did they do anything to win the fans over?
Does anyone else think Don is 100% right and everyone would be better off if Kenny focused on being a singles star again? Omega-Vikingo & Omega-Moxley were among the two best matches on Dynamite this year and drew more interest than the popular Death Triangle-Elite best of seven. It just seems odd to frame Kenny returning to singles as a bad thing.
Besides a soul, what else am I missing here?

I've felt this way since 2019 Kenny's matches against Vikingo and Moxley were great, but even then he's still a shell of what he can be. His recent AEW singles against Cobb was pretty lame. Witness Kenny in his Wrestle Kingdom match against Ospreay. He's so much better in every single way. He belongs in Japan. Always has, always will. He's even wearing IWGP gold right now.

Not the biggest Omega fan but from what I have seen the NJPW version feels like a main eventer and AEW he feels like a midcarder. And more wins won't fix that problem. He probably needs a shorter leash on his character to get the most out of him.
He also can be friends with the elite and rarely team with team but they are holding his career back.

Honestly, Matt Jackson should not be in the ring right now. He is working with a partially torn bicep.
Kenny is hit or miss in singles IMO. Big Match Kenny is untouchable, but we do not always get Big Match Kenny in singles matches, sometimes we get half-ass Kenny.
As for Bucks, hard to keep them as heels with their style. Normally, I would say they feud with the Hardys now, but I have a feeling Jeff does not get to do the big matches anymore, as they seem to go hand in hand with him going off the wagon. And got a feeling Matt is pushing on him to work with the younger guys, which really is the best place for a nostalgia act anyway. That said Wembley will likely be these two teams. Which works for me. If they are going to be showcased mine as well get them in one match early on the card.

I love Kenny but Don is 1000% right. The Young Bucks are wood ticks. I blame Matt & Nick for most of the ills that have befallen Kenny Omega.

Thanks for sharing Ed. That's a brilliant heel interview. Callis' perspective is that he's doing good for his family, when in reality he's a narcissistic, controlling psychopath. What he said about parents and children is particularly galling. I also love how Callis is using the smarky talking point that Kenny is underachieving and a lesser wrestler when he's with the Bucks.
