He pretty much did. I don't know who booked this match, but RUSH just humbled Perry. He literally bent the kid over the entire match and made the match about him.

And then Vance pretty much swiped away Darby like he was a child and then it took he and Sammy to get rid of him.

These are your number 1 contenders people. These boys need some steaks and weights and a high protein diet.

Wow, RUSH really did kick the shit out of Jungle Boy. Barely gave him any offense, and Jungle Boy used the tights to win. Great way to book the most babyface of the three challengers for the title.

Ending was cool, but why was Danielson hiding the whole time? Not something a real professional wrestler would do. Is he injured?

Nah I ain't seeing it. But to echo NATH45 it was a damn good match. Loved that spot with Juice tripping Starks, Starks stumbling into Blade Runner, reversed into a schoolboy.

Given RUSH’s reputation I’m curious if he went into business for himself a little bit. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. Being asked to lay down for Jungle Boy would definitely get that kind of reaction from him.

But also they did purposely book it that way so the three contenders would have a way to show they have each other’s backs, so maybe I’m just reading into it too much.

Once MJF retains at least we can move on from the Pillars…unless the two guys he doesn’t pin decide they still deserve shots, in which case I might tear my hair out.

Rush been a company guy. Likely that was the booked match. Story was Jungle Boy can win in impossible odds.

Andrade is returning, so Rush likely to go on a tag team or trios (with Dralístico) tear. If Andrade does not return, I can see him being the one to dethrone Orange.  Eitherway, Rush is likely to have a run in the very near future.  And Tony has to treat him very, very well, as WWE will want him as soon as his contract is up to pair with his brother.

The trouble is the impossible odds did not come from cheating or interference or being attacked before the bell. Rush just overwhelmed him from the start and outclassed him in every way. Made Jungle Boy look a bit amateur to be honest.

AEW is weird in a sense, they've got a former ROH & CMLL Champion in RUSH and IWGP Champion in White and the best they can do is use them as enhancement talents for Jack Perry and Ricky Starks.

Now, Starks is likely going to be a player eventually, and his match with Jay White this week show-cased both guys well. With Starks, all the ducks are there, it's just about getting them all in a row.

I can't say that for Jack Perry. As much as they want this kid to be a star, he's as charismatic as a bag of flour, speaks with the nervousness of a teenager seeing his first set of boobs and is physically underwhelming.

He got eaten alive out there by someone who outclassed him in every way.

We gave Perry several years to prove himself. He did not. Time to move on.

Rush put over Perry on Twitter, so clearly no heat.

I'd almost argue that this side-quest for MJF is almost a detriment to his title reign. Or at least not necessary.

He's proven he's better than the other pillars. He doesn't need to beat them to prove that. He's beaten some of the best already. And these 3 jokers aren't even top 20 in AEW.

He won Le Mans, and this is like saddling up in a go-cart to smash the kids back at home one more time because they mocked you for being successful. You don't need to do that.

Considering the timing, maybe debuting Jay White as MJF's next opponent might have been the better option - it's certainly higher profile. And it certainly wouldn't be an afterthought as AEW is dominated right now by BCC/Elite, UE/JAS.

With Perry, he's not awful in the ring. And as I've almost protested - he needs a dramatic make over. And if AEW was a little better at defining divisions for their championships, maybe the International Belt might be a worthy " European " tiered title for guys like Perry to have at it.

Curious who gets MJF in Wembley. Ospreay would make the most sense.  Or Pac but not sure what is up with Pac.  He is wrestling, just not for Tony.

Perry and Darby are both def mid tier guys. Sammy can be main event or mid tier depending on his booking.

And well, Punk was supposed to return as face of said show, but bit of drama with people learning Tony hired back Ace, and Punk demanding he be returned to his spot as a producer and agents on the new show.

Plus it is Tony, if you still believe his hype at this point that really is on you. Every other week there is the biggest announcement in the history of wrestling hyped up.

Or let's celebrate the real big new, Rush beating the shit out of Jungle Boy looking like a monster in the process.
