uh is it just me or does the iwgp world heavyweight championship look oddly divas-adjacent

That comparison was made when they first revealed it. Everyone hated that title and was mad that Ibushi unified the Heavyweight and IC titles.

But then it looked kinda cool on Will Ospreay and Shingo Takagi and they pushed the hell out of the US and NEVER Openweight titles to replace the IC title and everyone kind of moved on.

It does sound disappointing, and it probably will be a good match, but I'm still disappointed.

Quick recap before work. No time to watch matches but I can blitz through the other segments.

- Jericho and Sting with the greatest baseball bat promo in the history of professional wrestling.
- Sting is still easily the best wrestler in AEW with his invincibility and his record of 0 losses and many many wins. I'm glad in this match he actually needed Orange's assistance to hit his finisher.

Tanahashi challenging MJF?! MJF's response was pretty funny, actually. Most interesting he's been in a while. Burying NJPW like Okada buries NOAH.

ZACK SABRE JR CAMEO!! Since when is Orange Bollocks all buddy buddy with Shibata? ZSJ vs Orange does not excite me that much, especially when ZSJ vs KATSHUORI is right there in your lap. But we will see them meet in a tag team match, apparently.

Wow that final segment was cameo central. Will Ospreay being the clear highlight. Kenny was a surprise appearance, so I wonder what Ospreay was planning to do if the show went as advertised and Kenny didn't show up? Just keep chilling under the ring until they go off the air?

The only thing missing was Okada ambushing Danielson at the announce booth. Just kidding. Danielson vs Okada is a RESPECK dream match so no need for shenanigans. The match sells itself.

Back in November they had a "Dream Match" on Rampage. It got announced completely out of the blue and was a pretty solid match. Afterwards they shook hands and the above picture happened.

If memory serves me correctly Shibata popped up one more time to save OC from an attack but I might be imagining that. I guess they have been friends ever since.

I must have watched that match but I don't remember much. Did Orange Bollocks win with the Bollocks Punch?
