Signs point to no....

As noted, former WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio made his return to the company last night, in a surprise Royal Rumble appearance which had fans popping big in Philadelphia.

We noted after the return, however, that Rumble match appearance was likely a one-off deal, and as of now there are no plans for Mysterio to sign a return deal with WWE.

PWInsider.com adds that while WWE officials did take note of the major crowd reaction to Mysterio’s return, a deal will be difficult for WWE and Mysterio to workout as WWE wants him to work a full-time schedule, however Mysterio only wants to work part-time, and is not interested in the full-time road schedule.

What would part time be? Just Raw or Smackdown (whatever show they put him on) and PPV's, without doing house shows? Or a similar deal the likes of Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam get where they only work for like 3 to 5 months at a time?

Either way, Rey has probably earned either one of those type of deals... though I get why the WWE would want him back full time, but I can also understand why Rey wouldn't want to return full time as well.

As I mentioned in the Rumble Party, 205 Live is getting a new General Manager. And I think Rey is gonna be that guy.

They wouldn't need Rey full time for that though, only on the days they tape 205 Live, so I doubt it. Full time, makes me think they want him to wrestle on one of the main shows.

If they were smart they would sign him just through to Wrestlemania, enter the Cruiserweight title tournament, and have him put over the eventual winner in the finals.
