Josh Johnson after like 15 years in the league , running down lead blocking for Justice Hill is why he’s made it in the league this long. He’s not a good quarterback by any means but clearly the ultimate teammate.

Glad the Jets didn't give up Jermaine Johnson to GB in the Rodgers talks, I don't know if it's the number change but Jermaine Johnson looks fantastic thus far all camp and in the preseason. Just looks much stronger. He looks like the guy who was considered a top 15 pick. If he steps his game up, that Jets 1st round is going up there with the Pennington and DBrick/Mangold 1st rounds of best Jets 1st rounds in franchise history.
Will McDonald the pick I didn't like because it neglected OT(Which still worries me) but the player himself is a nasty pass rusher, dude has insane bend and has this swim move that left the Panthers OTs completely dusted.
I didn't get to see the game but the Jets looked pretty good yesterday. Bryce Young did like nothing behind his protection, amazing how little flack he got for underperforming yesterday. Not sure if the Ickey Ekwonwu year 2 campaign is off to a good start given he was getting worked in the scrimmage between the 2 sides.

Hate that he's on the Cowboys (I'm getting the vibe he's going to take Boston Scott's role as the guy who permanently destroys the Giants) but the league has been crying out for a new tiny RB - they are some of the most objectively fun players to watch.

I love that a rookie in his first ever game action can underperform. This is why the majority of the NFL fanbase is moronic and unbearable.

Yeah Stroud, Levis and A Richardson all caught flack this weekend for their struggles and Young technically didn't throw a pick like those but it seems like he got pardoned a bit than the rest. Trey Lance and Zach Wilson both had TDs this weekend, would be great to see both shaking off bust status given to them by most and end up being something.

Lance didn't look very good at all, his TD should have really been intercepted and he was sacked 4 times. His problem is that he needs to play but he won't get the opportunity because the 49ers can't wait around for him.

I think Darnold may overtake Lance as QB2 if Purdy is good to go. Might mean either Lance goes inactive or if he is, maybe some sort of wildcat plays to try and create something while using him. Not sure how much Kyle Shanahan would want to do that though.

Jets signing Dalvin Cook, I still think the current Jets RB unit is good but I get it, this is a move that had to be done given Rodgers gave up his money.
I assume the Jets play it smart with Breece Hall and save his legs for the 2nd half of the season even if he feels good. I wonder who gets kept between Michael Carter & Bam Knight now. Izzy looked really good honestly...
And it was between Breece and Garrett Wilson for the 4th and final keeper spot, this makes it easy now.

Tough day for fantasy between that and the Pats signing Zeke.
I think that was a no-brainer for the Jets, Cook might be starting to come down from his peak but he's still a very decent back and will be able to reliably eat 200+ touches. Even if Breece Hall says he's feeling good there's plenty of evidence that RBs don't get to their best until the season after returning from a knee injury (including Cook himself) so it would be foolish for them to put all their eggs in his basket.

Alex Collins dead at age 28. Geez. I remember he ran pretty hard and I relied on him for a spot start in fantasy when he was with the Seahawks. Such a young age, seems like he was still playing in the USFL.

There’s a lot of 3rd and 7s in Mac Jones future. Zeke has been turned into a meme now but I don't think this is a bad signing at all. He's a good short yardage guy and an above average blocker, there's value in that (especially as o-line looks like it will still be a problem for the Pats) and especially so when the backups behind Stevenson were previously Ty Montgomery and Pierre Strong...

Doesn't sound like the Jets are going to regret moving Mims, Blindy , he might be outta the league. Also I'm tipping over to "it's never going to happen" for Jameson Williams.

Love threw a nice bomb to Doubs who made a great fucking catch and then backed that up by throwing an absolute LASER to Reed for a touchdown. Just loving these young guys. The Packers aren’t going anywhere.

Packers/Pats suspended play , which essentially means cancelled due to a scary injury to a Pats DB.

I know their rivals but I want good things to happen for Lions fans this season. I don't expect GB to win this division, and I'd much rather it be Detroit than the Bears or Vikes. I'd be more than happy with a competitive 7-9 Packers team this year. Realistically probably gonna be at 5 or 6 wins but I'm excited to see what Love can do regardless. It sucks losing Aaron but that band-aid needed ripped off a year ago. Jets will go 8-8. I've seen this movie before, it sucked and then the sequel made me want to throw up. Blindy can now come back here and mock me though if I'm wrong. I however hope Sauce gets DPOY. It's about time that a corner wins one again. Bengals - this is either our year or we slump back and get bounced out in the divisional round. Making three consecutive conference championships (fuck me that feels weird to even type out as a possibility) is no small feat to accomplish but totally doable with this team. Winning windows aren't long in the NFL though and we neef to strike now. Probably a 13-4 finish at best, barring Jackson and the shitbirds show up this season.

Packers are winning this division.
People act like the Lions were some juggernauts last year , they didn’t even make the playoffs. Yes they bit the shitty Packers to end the year but people need to stop pretending they are some kind of lock to be awesome this year.
The Vikings were flukes last year and regression is going to happen and their roster got worse.
And the Bears are a joke and and Fields might be the worst quarterback in the division. I’m not afraid.

I don't think they're a lock to be awesome either, but it was a lot more than just beating the Packers in the last game, they went 8-2 down the stretch. And they've added 2 or 3 exciting pieces to the #5 offence by DVOA.

And they've added 2 or 3 exciting pieces to the #5 offence by DVOA. I get that and think they have a chance to be good and certainly aren’t the pushovers they once were but the perception and even odds for awhile (haven’t checked them lately) suggest they are so far ahead of everyone. They have nice pieces on offense and a potentially great line as their greatest assets but we’ve been here with Goff before where he had a great season due in large part to an excellent coaching job and turned back into a pumpkin the next season - which is why he is in Detroit now. Not to mention a defense with a ton of question marks even after some signings. Not going to say the Packers are locks either , we are incredibly young and have an unproven quarterback but as I’ve said - if Love can be anywhere close to Rodgers average self last year than there’s no reason why we can’t win 10 games with a much better team and potentially excellent rookie class around him. Especially with what looks to be on paper a pretty manageable schedule. Bring on the season. Bring on the Lions. I’m stoked for the Baby Packers this year. There is a different aura around this team now that they are out of Rodgers large shadow and everyone seems to be playing with a different energy.

One of the most meaningless records in sports history was broken last night the Ravens 25 game preseason game winning streak. I was all prepared to make a "people are really sleeping on the Commanders and Sam Howell might actually be quite good" post but then I saw McLaurin has turf toe and that could be a terrible blow for them. That injury has ruined careers.

Corey picked a bad time to retire, probably means both Malik Taylor AND Brownlee make the roster. But he has seen a lot, think his father died late in his Titans tenure and the door is open for him to return whenever if he's still into it so I have nothing but respect for him. He was a good blocker and outside of the drops he had, he came up big time in the 4th quarter and never once threw Zach Wilson under the bus in the 2 years they played together. Hope he finds peace and thank you for the 2 years as a Jet.

Malik Taylor was going to make the roster anyways. He’s Rodgers dude.
It’s why he was in GB so long. Nothing spectacular and will never be more than an end of roster/special teams guy but Rodgers loves him and how smart he is and how he always knew where to be.
Got a few classic Rodgers chuckles out of Hard Knocks when he was calling throwing it deep to Malik and really wanted Malik to get that bomb.
And then when he was half jokingly and repeatedly “joking” about throwing to the guy who ran the wrong route. You could tell it killed him inside to see that guy get rewarded for running the wrong route. I’m convinced that he would not throw to a wide open guy running 40 yards down the seam if that guy was supposed to run an 8 yard dig.

Lance is destined to be a washout. If he can’t figure out Shanahans system he doesn’t stand a chance. I'm not sure this is a fair representation. Shanahan's system might maximise subpar QBs but it does require good decision making and reading the defence (Purdy had 46 college starts and had an elite score on the S2 test, whereas Lance has literally hardly played football) rather than leaning on athletic traits. That's why the story all along was that Kyle wanted Mac Jones and not Lance.

That's why the story all along was that Kyle wanted Mac Jones and not Lance. It’s not as much to do with smarts and reading an entire defense as it is with believing in the offense and not being afraid to throw to the guys Shanahan is scheming open. The reason why he loves guys like Jimmy/Brock and even a Kirk Cousins is because they aren’t afraid the throw the ball and trust the scheme - it’s also why they all have such a high variety of success (Purdy got pretty lucky last year with TO worthy plays). He would rather a guy take those reads and make the play than hesitate and not give the offense a chance. PFF did a pretty nice job of delving into this and why Lance is struggling in maybe the most QB friendly system in NFL history.

To rub more salt in pduh’s wounds - does the Lance trade go down as one of the bigger L’s in history? It’s acquired: Jaylen Waddle Tyreek Hill Bradley Chubb Crazy. Though credit to the 49ers for thriving despite that trade.
