Josh Jones the OT to the Texans. I like the acquisition for Houston who needed line help and Jones is a starter in this league.

Really hoping with the rise of Walker as a backup Tackle the Packers can get some safety or center help by the start of the season.

Quietly hopeful the Texans offensive line will be a strength this year. I believe the starters have taken no sacks in their time on the field this pre-season. Really hoping we see Damien Pearce unleashed when the season starts. That would be fun.

Giants swooping for Isiah Simmons is another great risk free move by Schoen. He might be a bust but for a 7th rounder and $1 million it's absolutely worth a flier. Wink might be able to get something out of him in the role that Julian Love played last season, nominally a safety but lining up all over the field...

Gregg brought this up the other day on ATN but Pierce is being ranked bizarrely low in fantasy. I would absolutely be taking him ahead of Miles Sanders and Cam Akers. Pierce was good last season and the Texans offence can only be better.

It’s why he was in GB so long. Nothing spectacular and will never be more than an end of roster/special teams guy but Rodgers loves him and how smart he is and how he always knew where to be.

Got a few classic Rodgers chuckles out of Hard Knocks when he was calling throwing it deep to Malik and really wanted Malik to get that bomb.

And then when he was half jokingly and repeatedly “joking” about throwing to the guy who ran the wrong route. You could tell it killed him inside to see that guy get rewarded for running the wrong route. I’m convinced that he would not throw to a wide open guy running 40 yards down the seam if that guy was supposed to run an 8 yard dig.

Heavy fantasy stock in Garrett Wilson, he's my keeper for a reason. He will be thrown at will at this point. Lazard is a WR3, Cobb is a WR5 and Hardman is a gadget player. Not too hot on the Jets WR room after the Davis retirement, means the TEs have to really step up. Conklin and Ruckert in particular need to take the next steps. 

I wanted Josh Jones with the Jets, wonder if Houston cuts George Fant. I would welcome him back, I still want another tackle for insurance if Becton gets hurt or old man Duane Brown goes down. Not high on Billy Turner & Max Mitchell as reserves.

That's why they are going to rely on the run whether it's Dalvin Cook or eventually, Breece Hall. I do agree with Corey Davis gone, the WR2 spot is wide open. Rodgers can play favorites with Cobb & Lazard all he wants but it's really going to be Tyler Conklin IMO who is going to be the 2nd go to, easy recommend for fantasy. 

If the Jets get a lead, they will run the ball at will, especially now that defense have to honor the QB.

I am just happy Mehki Becton is the starting RT. Regardless if you're a Jets fan or not, seeing a guy who has lost practically 2 years worth of football time due to injuries/admitted overweight & conditioning issues, I have to see it to believe it when it comes to a 17(plus....please) game season but for him to even make it to MNF Week 1 vs BUF is big time. Becton has come to this camp with a purpose, man is playing everybit like the grown ass man that he was drafted to be. Absolute menace the way he was throwing 2nd stringers in preseason. It's a different animal in the regular season but still, that size and strength is going to be massive for the Jets. Rodgers summed it up really well how good it is to see Becton achieve some success this summer after a long way back.

The way 49er fans were trashing on Zach Wilson while excusing Trey Lance was crazy. Zach has shown (some) improvement in year 3 under a new OC, maybe not no.2 overall pick standards but this could have gone really, really bad. 

Mike McCarthy is considered a QB guru with how he raised Aaron Rodgers by many NFL pundits, maybe this will end up working for Lance if the Cowboys are patient enough.

I mean I’m not taking that McCarthy bait.

I mean I feel for Lance a bit but when you consider the compensation used to move up for him and combine that with the 10 or so players taken immediately behind him and it’s an all time bad pick/trade. Hats off to the 49ers for being able to blow that pick and still be favorites year after year but just imagine this team had they added even a Sewell/Slater or Parsons.

The Bills to Giants pipeline continues RT with Schoen pulling another low-risk trade to acquire Boogie Basham. NYG depth in the front seven looks so much better this season than last, no headline grabbing names but a lot more pieces now. Hopefully he can be as useful to us as Isaiah Hodgins has been.

Very odd to give up on him with Von Miller officially going to the PUP list. Who do the Bills have to rush the passer? Rousseau, Leonard Floyd and AJ Epenesa?

They chose an undrafted guy from last year Kingsley Jonathan over him. Former Jet Shaq Lawson is the other one in their rotation. Miller really remains one of the most important players in the league though, getting him back healthy in the second half of the season will make such a difference to them down the stretch.

Bills reddit explained it to me as “Shaq Lawson can do everything Boogie Basham can but for cheaper” so I will believe that until proven otherwise.

Also according to them, Basham is a “preseason performer” because he only lines up against second stringers.

All I know is the best name in football is no longer on my team, and Daboll sees something in him, so I don’t like it.

The Saints had an interesting cut down day; trading long time kicker Wil Lutz to the Broncos and cutting punter Blake Gillikin in favor of rookies Blake Grupe and Lou Hedley. The kicker battle has been close all camp but it was a little shocking they went with Grupe over Lutz. I guess they didn’t want to risk another team poaching him from the practice squad. Cutting Gillikin was a bigger shocker. I don’t think many of us knew there was a real chance of Gillikin getting beat out. I have to say though, Hedley is like the coolest looking punter in the league.

I can tell you seeing Shaq Lawson as a Jet and against the Jets, nah. He's bounced around like 4 teams in like 5 years for a reason. At best an average run stopper at his spot but a lousy pass rusher. Was frustrating seeing him on the Jets few seasons ago. 

Also Lawson and Basham are on practically the same money so those Bills fans can go jump through a table.

Cooper Kupp is out again with his hamstring, this one is going to be sticking around and I don't think it's too bold a take to say that we'll probably never see him close to 2021 again. Rams are going to be real assy this season, they might be bad enough to stop the Cardinals going 0-17.

NY Times had a story today about Alex Smith. I guess a year after his retirement his daughter had to have an emergency surgery to remove a malignant tumor from her brain. Oof. Rough stuff for such a good guy/family.
