Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that AEW star Jade Cargill is finishing up with AEW and is off to WWE.

I don't think there was anything left for Jade in AEW. Before there was CM Punk and Collision there was Jade with her TBS title and her containment division and she was only ever going to get so over with the AEW audience.

It always felt like a matter of time, but it's odd that this news comes just after she came out extremely supportive of AEW. In hindsight, she may have just been getting on the front foot to dispell any rumours of ill-will and that this was just a career decision.

With rumours that Mercedes Mone is headed to AEW, it's nice to see the circle of life is alive and truly well in the industry.

I was thinking about it the other day with Cody, I truly think it was in everyone's best interest that he left AEW, the issue was that AEW really struggled to follow through.

She was always part of the Codyverse even after he left. I still wish they gave Kris the main title and let Red Velvet be the one to end Jade's streak. She was the first woman she worked with, the one who joined her as an ally, and should have been the one to end her. Though I guess Red Velvet is part of the Codyverse too.

Well if SRS is to be believed, she is going straight to the main roster in WWE.

Probably got a sweet deal. No NXT stint, keep her name, etc.

Jade also said she wants to move into acting so this would be a part time contract as well letting her prioritizes non-wrestling things.

Good for her. Go get that bag. AEW has plenty of female wrestlers they aren't using properly so there's no sense in adding her to the pile now that her streak is over.

Someone on wreddit listened to SRS's live stream and he re-iterated that it is pretty much confirmed. Said he asked one of his higher up sources in AEW and their response was "oh you found out?" then when he asked a WWE source they essentially said the same thing.

SRS also speculated that Ricky Starks isn't far behind her. I would be sad to see him go but I got a feeling he wants more than Tony is willing to give, in which case he should leave. That's total speculation on my part though. Just a feeling. Also he's friends with Cody and has been floundering a bit since he left. Part of that is the bad luck of being in a program with CM Punk but still. Other than his little feud with MJF, Starks hasn't done much of note.

I feel like Cargill wants to be a celebrity(Not that there is anything wrong with it) and I feel like her cosplaying the likes of She Hulk & Storm is her way of screaming out to Hollywood to give her a shot. I really think if given the chance, she would bolt for TV/Hollywood over wrestling so in that regard, WWE just gives her much more to work with. It's a bigger name to media and her ability to maybe get on something Peacock/NBC related has to be a huge coup.

I don't think she is long for the business in other words, she is just a huge friggin' star and carries herself as such.

Story feels like more SRS BS as far as I am concerned. I just do not see why WWE would offer her top pay, allow her to bypass NXT and let her go part time. Moreso doing this all as the first person signed post merge.

Like this makes sense for Jade totally, but not for WWE at all.

The sound of someone looking to use wrestling to propel themselves to better pastures if given the chance to.

Yeah I get why Jade would want to use WWE to launch up, but do not get why WWE would offer her main roster pay but only part time dates. Also not entirely sure they would let her wrestle without learning the WWE style, moreso given her original training was not completed.

She will sign a full time contract for 2-3 years and use that as a launching pad. And WWE would be stupid NOT to sign her. Have you seen what she looks like? Can you imagine her getting a hyped up build then squaring off with Rhea Ripley? Like holy shit.

So updates are her contract with AEW is up this. That is what SRS used for his confirmation she is going to WWE. No one else confirmed the WWE rumor though.  

Raj is reporting that Tony will be offering a large contract to get her stay and sign on long term.

In interviews done over the past few weeks Jade said outright she cannot see herself wrestling outside of AEW.

I love Jade and think she has a great look. I would hate to see her leave AEW, however, ultimately she has to do whatever she feels is best. Either way, I'll continue to watch, whenever she gets air time.

It's peak wrestling fan to take a fun answer to a "what do you want to do after wrestling" question and freak out about the person only using wrestling as a stepping stone and not having the appropriate passion for the INDUSTRY.

Who said that?

She should be shooting for Hollywood if given the chance to. Any wrestler should. The toll this grind takes can take years off your life. If there's an alternative to that where you can still make a living and then some, why not? 

That's not meant as a knock towards her passion as a wrestler or wanting to get better. She can very well do it part time ala Ronda Rousey who comes in and out while still doing her celebrity stuff. 

I would just be stunned if say in 4-5 years, she isn't doing something away from wrestling. Acting or modeling or whatever. 

Whether she wants to go to Hollywood or not, now is the worst time to attempt that. There is a reason The Rock and John Cena are back.

I can see the WWE being interested in her, but I just don't see her skipping NXT and learning the WWE way of doing things. If they see something special in her they might try to fast track her to the main roster.

If she came in and dethroned Lynch for the belt, that would put a stamp within the company and would be good for her. She like Brian Pillman Jr would learn how to do the basic fundies. 

But I think WWE will set her up to win the Women's Battle Royale and strap a rocket on her. Maybe you can mask her weaknesses at WM by making it a triple threat or fatal four way in her match.

If anything, I think Cargill needs NXT.

Admittedly, I haven't seen any of her matches in a few months but isn't she still green as grass? The Goldberg push works for a while but ultimately she's going to need to work long(ish) matches against talent who can hold up their end but can't hide anyone else's weaknesses.

I would like to go on record and say that I am not one of these people. Jade is awful in the ring. She has barely improved over the 2 years she was TBS Champ and if she skips NXT she is going to get exposed big time. I really hope if she leaves AEW and heads over there, they reel her in and make her the superstar we all know she is.

yeah she has no business skipping the performance center. Hopefully she doesn't try to bypass it. Because being champion for two years in the number two promotion might make her think she is beyond that.

From what I seen now, she will be doing the performance center until her no compete is up. They work on her chain wrestling and she will rapidly improve as that was really what was cut from her training and it showed in AEW.

My money is on a rumble debut, and potentially win. Most WWE fans never seen her, and that would be one way to get her over extremely fast. If I was booking, would call up two or three girls to act as her posse as well and play Jade as some superstar who is beneath doing common matches and only use her in PPV matches and select tag stuff. Basically cover her weaknesses as best as possible.

But rocketing her to the top would mean making profit off her fast, as she will likely move merc. She is a clear star with an amazing look that you do kind of naturally want to support. And no one in wrestling has as much raw untapped potential as her if you get her training hard on offtime. She learns to chain well, she could easily become a top girl.

Now, let me get this straight. You think Jade Cargill, one of the greenest wrestlers in AEW, a complete unknown to the WWE fans is winning The Rumble and main eventing Wrestlemania...

If you want to push an undeserving, green heayweight with zero ability then at least apply ' The Goldberg Push ' from day one in NXT and build up some credibility and get in some WWE reps.

They could just give her normal nxt booking to train her up then bring her up to the main roster for a monster push. It still will be about the same. Most people who will watch nXt probably has seen AEW.

This path makes sense mostly if you're looking at her as a very specific short-term limited appearance rental, like Logan Paul. Very few matches, paired with strong ring general opponents.

Her weaknesses pretty much stem from lack of in-ring time/maybe inadequate training, and having her continue to not wrestle won't make her any better. But if she's signed for only ten matches then maybe it isn't important to up her game to the point where she doesn't need to have her weak spots masked.
